First of all there are not a lot of choices when it comes to docks for the Galaxy S3. The Verizon MULTI MEDIA dock that I had purchased for my Original Droid was the best. You dropped your phone in on it's side and it connected nicely to the power plug without any fuss. Also when you put your Droid into the dock it automatically went into a special multi media mode. It was very stable and didn't move when you touched your phone to control it's various functions. All of the docks that I've seen for the S3 only plug into the phone from the bottom. This dock is no different. One plus with this dock is the removable rubber insert in its base. If your S3 does not have a case the rubber insert improves the fit and keeps your S3 from wiggling around. If you do have a case such as the Elago slim case pull the insert out and you can now drop your phone into the dock case and all. This is a big plus. I almost gave it a fourth star for this. However, as I said before you set the phone into the dock length wise so you have a lot of phone sticking up above the base. This is fine until you start trying to control your phone. The base is too short and the phone too top heavy. You must be careful, especially if you're trying to push the hard key for the home screen. It's almost takes two hands. The other issue with this dock is that you need to be a bit careful to seat your phone properly so that the power plug engages. It is possible to sit your phone into the base and not have it plugged in. Then you're waking up the next morning with a dead phone. For the price this is an OK dock for charging only. The quality of the materials is very good and it performs its basic function well. Beyond that don't expect too much.
