I plugged in my phone (Tmobile G1), and saw the blue charge light turn on for the charger. I glanced at my phone, and was happy to note that the phone indicated that it was charging. So far so good. After about 2 min of charging, i reached my destination (food takeout place a few street down) and decided to unplug that's when i realized the charger was abnormally hot. I quickly uplugged it from my car outlet and had to drop it onto the rubber mat because the heat was unbearable to the touch. I wasn't sure exactly what happened, but i figured giving it 15 min to cool off is probably a good idea.
After i got home, i tried to plug in the charger again. the blue light went on again, so i assumed everything was all right. it wasn't till about 3 weeks afterwards when i tried to charge my phone again that i realized all was not right. apparently the light for the charger still turns on whenever i plug it into my car, but it no longer actually charges my phone anymore. my phone doesn't detect it anymore the charger just stopped working.
basically, i got to use this wonderfully designed car charger for a total of 2 min. I really like the design of this charger, and it's not like the build quality of this thing looked questionable. Maybe i just got unlucky. But i like the design so much that i'm contemplating giving it another go. What to do...
