Car Black Box Kit - Includes Car DVR Camera Recorder with 2.5-Inch Screen and HDMI Out
  • 1280x720 Color Video, Format: AVI, Speed: 30fps
  • 2.5" Color display
  • Real Time and Date display
  • Automatically Starts recording when car is powered on
  • HDMI output

Night video leaving a gas station. Not too great quality wise but I guess if you were involved in an accident, it would be better than nothing. Overall, the camera is decent. Daytime is alright. You can't really see license plate numbers or signs during the day, even on the highest quality setting. Those little details get blurred out. The highest setting isn't really HD, and playback is slow while on the setting.

This product is far more than I expected! I bought this because I saw on TV where a father Installed one of these in his teenage daughter's car so he could see if she was driving safely. She had an accident and the insurance company ruled the accident her fault until the father played them the saved recording and the insurance company then ruled the accident was not her fault. We don't have any teenage drivers but the TV segment was enough for me so I bought this. It is not only a Vehicle camera like the police use but also a camcord and still photo camera away from the vehicle on the 3 hour rechargeable battery. Also an excellent audio/video tool to use handsfree to record any conversation that you may have with a Police Officer that pulls you over! If the device records an accident ahead of you or at an intersection just down load the recording to a DVD-R/VCR and sell the recording to a TV station. Yep I'm glad that I bought this and I also bought a 32Gig memory card but the device will accept a 64Gig card if you want tons of storage.

I bought this camera in early Dec 2011 based on the reviews. It worked great at first but has slowly deteriorated to the point I may have to throw it out the window onto the Interstate. :) Mine is horrible now and of course it's past the point where I can return it. So, the cam locks up. There's a small reset button on the bottom but very dangerous to reset while driving as you have to get a small needle to stick in the reset hole. It also just stops recording for no apparent reason. I drove 4 hours to day and 4 times I had to turn it off, back on, then manual start the record. The "motion" options is basically worthless so I let it record all the time (which uses much more sdcard space. I highly recommend you avoid this dashcam.

Works pretty good. Nice quality for daytime recording but night recordings are pixelated if your headlights are the only light source. If you are in town with street lights and building lights, not bad.

Camera physically seems to be pretty fragile. Feels more like a child's toy camera. The hinge on the display screen seems kind of flimsy.

I like the rollover recodings that replace the older ones as the card gets filled. I ran two 8Gb cards and was able to get 4 hrs on each card. Came in pretty handy a couple of times when accidents happened in front of me and for drunk drivers going along in front as well.

Controls are a little awkward until you rememeber which button does what then it's pretty easy to make settings changes.

The mount could be a little more flexible on the positioning. I tried to set mine to be flat but with the positioning "teeth" it had it pointing down a little. Still worked but just an annoying thing to me. The suction cup worked great. I have seen alot that will fail when it gets warm out and your item falls off while going down the road. This thing hung on great. I moved it once but before re-attaching it. Make sure the cup is clean and a little damp...will hold again without issue.

Definately not for professional or business use. I don't think it would stand up to the constant use. But great otherwise.

Good video quality. I liked how it buffered the video into segments and rotated the segments by overwriting the oldest segment. I got about 2.5 hours loop time of hi-def video from a 8gig memory. BUT.....The unit worked for only a few months before dying. It is a cheaply made Chinese item.
