Do not buy this item for your GPS. Like the last review said, you will not be able to charge your GPS like the normal charger. You'll get a picture of the item attached to a computer instead of a map while it is plugged in !

Have really enjoyed this unit. It lives up to the reputation of Garmin. It goes on all my business trips. I have found my way to to some fairly remote locations.

This device is improperly titled. It is not compatible with GPS units for 2 main reasons:

Cons:

1. It has coiled wiring and for any GPS unit you need a long wire you can snake around the dash/motorcycle etc.

2. It is the wrong voltage. It will charge your GPS, but you won't be able to use it like you do if you had the original charger. For some reasons the Nuvi GPS units have a hardware or electrical failsafe that won't let you use them if you have the wrong charger so you'll be driving looking at an image of a PC as if you had it connected via USB to your computer. This is useless if you're intending to navigate.

Pros:

1. Cheap.

2. Can power up your cellphone if it's mini-usb compatible.

Conclusion:

You get what you pay for.
