DieHard 71486 750 Peak Amps 12AH Portable Power Source with 12-Volt Ou

DieHard 71486 750 Peak Amps 12AH Portable Power Source with 12-Volt OuNot sure what was up with the other review but I was given my unit as a Christmas gift in 2010. I charged it that day and it sat unused in my garage for about 7 months before I thought to put it in my truck. Within weeks I had had to jump start my own truck twice and several other friends' cars. Since that time, I have had to jump over 6 more cars, for a grand total of about 9 so far and counting. The impressive part? I haven't charged it once in over a year and it's still 3/4 full. It literally takes about 5 seconds to jump a car so it never really drains the battery. Simply turn the knob to "on" and the car can start immediately disconnect and let the alternator take over! This unit is a lifesaver beyond a fast start, it lets you jump your own vehicle without waiting around for someone to pull up alongside (even if you have the cables). I'll never have a vehicle without one now!

I purchased one a year back to run my CPAP when camping. I have a resmed CPAP that runs on 12 VDC fed from the mains through a power brick. I bought a car adapter from resmed. The Diehard gold will run my CPAP for three nights with the humidifier off while camping. I also charge my iPhone through the USB port. My CPAP runs at a pressure of 9.

Bought this in June of 2011 and it still works perfectly. I use it almost five days a week to power my satellite radio about four to six hours a day. Even jump started an SUV after I had used it most of the day. Won't leave home without it.

Furious that they did not spell out, in crystal clear terms, that this has a 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet, not a plug. Previous models had a plug--the only reason I bought it was because a musician friend had used one for years when playing in the subway. I bought this the day after we got power back after Sandy hit NYC--not to jump car batteries, but specifically to charge phones, mp3 players and maybe run a dvd player for a bit. There is NOTHING here, or on the Sears product page to suggest I shouldn't be able to do exactly that. Also, you have to supply your own extension cord to charge it--NOTHING ABOUT THAT HERE, THOUGH. Fortunately, I'd read other reviews so that was no surprise. But what the hell is up with not providing the most basic information? Either here, OR on the Sears website?

So pissed right now.
