I can't say much about it yet. It is bigger than I expected and alittle heavier. I guess if I had done a better search, I would've looked for something that only charges "AA" & "AAA", since that is what I carry. I don't know many other camper, backpackers that carry "C" & "D" batteries, but hey...

I have used it to charge one set of AA so far & it has done the trick.

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 only because the charger is very small. As for the unit itself it does charge the batteries pretty well considering it was actually pretty cheap to purchase. I do wish some one would make a charger that could be plugged into an outlet when power is available and the same charger be used with the solar power when needed. Over all it is a good product.

The first time I used this wall charger, it did exactly what it was supposed to do, which was charge my iPod. Even though it doesn't seem relevant, I enjoyed the little blue light on the face of the unit. After using it, I unplugged the charger and set in on my desk. The second time I tried to plug in the charger, no lie, I noticed the electrical prongs from the charger itself were still in the wall outlet. Yep. When I unplugged the charger, the metal prongs broke off and stayed in the wall. It happened so easily that I didn't even notice it had broken until the next time I tried to use it. The most fun part about it was trying to find a useful rubber or plastic tool to pull the prongs out of the outlet. Yes it will charge your iPod. Yours may not break. Mine did. Luckily, Belkin seems to have pretty good customer service and warranties, so they are replacing the charger for free. All I have to do is pay to ship the defective unit to them :)

I originally purchased this product as I was traveling outside of the US and wanted something lightweight that I could use anywhere for both my iPhone and iPod as a recharger. This product has more than met my expectations. It is extremely lightweight to the point where I can slip it into my pants pocket, go wherever I need to go, and use it. I use this at home to keep my phone charged next to my bed, and use it to quickly charge my iPod when I'm not near my computer.

Note that the USB-to-device cord is only for recharging your devices; you can actually connect it to your computer, however, it will not transfer files, just recharge your device.

I read the reviews and it seems this Belkin unit works "great" if it works at all. And if it doesn't work people are understandably unhappy. I didn't return mine, I just threw out the cable and used the one I got with my iPod. Works fine that way. I figure I lucked out in that it was just the cable that was bad. If the whole thing was bad I'd have to return it for a refund. Too bad they don't just sell the wall wart without the cable. We wasted a bit of time trying to figure out what was wrong.

Probably wouldn't wanna buy Belkin products again. I can't see why poor quality control wouldn't be the norm in all their other products.

This a fantastic bargain , my local car stereo shop (Mobile-one) has it for $699.00 and another $600.00 for installation. The alarm has everything you could one on a modern alarm /remote start . It also comes with 2 ports for xtra sensors which is great . I payed at mobile-one $1100.00 for a viper 5901 last january , the alarm only lasted 11 months and the brain went out, I brought it back to them , since they installed it , they took the brain out and told me to send it to viper my self , Viper does not want to give another alarm ( so dont believe that bull crap about a lifetime warranty from viper) . the best thing you can do is to order it from Amazon with all the xtras ( radar sensor, ultrasonic sensor, 516U voice module ) and you will only spend about $420.00 which is better than 1100.00 . By the way the reason I dont like the remotes is because they are to sensitive , if you dont pay attention the car will star with out you even known it.

Purchased this alarm from hooked on tronics and arrived in a timely manner. I really liked that they made me sign for the package vs just leaving it at the door. I installed this myself and couldn't get the remote start to work. Turns out I had to disconnect the bypass module from the brain to program the remote start! Once programmed I plugs it back in and worked like a charm. I really dislike that they don't give you install instructions! The remote is a little sensitive if I keep the remote in my pocket and i tend to accidentally start my car!

This wall charger fails to charge the Nuvi as advertised. The voltage it puts out is apparently irregular, causing the Nuvi to switch on and off and act erratically. I'm just hoping that it didn't damage by brand new Garmin!

Neither the charger nor the accompanied power cord is a Garmin product, and they are not Garmin approved or compatible. If you must use an AC wall charger, get one that is approved by Garmin, rather than waste your time and money on a piece of Made-in-China trash (so called, because that's where I put them--in the trash--rather than waste more than they are worth on the cost of a return).

Just like others already said, the USB travel charger fails to charge Garmin Nuvi as it's claimed. Actually, I consider myself lucky it didn't damage my Garmin. These radios were bought as a test for other radios from the midland product line. They were used nov 5-12 2012 on private land approx. 800 acres 200 of which is wooded the rest farmland. There is nothing but hills and valleys here where my family hunts in the 200 wooded. We have no base station between the radios. The reception is great, clarity of the sound as well. We have since decided to purchase more of these rather than the more costly ones from midland radio line. They have done very well for us and will continue to use them time and time again. We bought these for our daughter for out at our summer vacation campsite, she loves them cause she and her friends can go run and play and we can check on there where abouts or they check in with us. we also use them at home when she goes to a friends house. the signal strength/range is very good she can go blocks away. she got lost looking for a friends house and called me asap i was able to talk to her while i went to find her, made it nice cause she told me the street sign where she was at and we found her right away. we decided to see how true the range was and took one to the video store which was 15 to 20 city blocks from my home and we got awesome reception, some static but not bad at all. the next test will be going further to see if they do have true range. if you want a nice product for this type of use i suggest it.

I got it for my preteen boys. Why? Because the 'normal' toy ones break after no time at all, and use a ton of batteries. These are durable and rechargeable. Because it's got so many channels, and only some of those are legal to use without a $60 license, I just set it to channel 14 and lock it there. They boys love them, and after two months of frequent use they are still working just fine (compared to the toy ones which seem to always break within a week).

It charges both the phone and extra battery. Only thing I don't like is the flimsy plastic piece that holds the phone. I use a case on my phone and had to remove it so the phone would fit. i removed the plastic piece and am able to now use this cradle without removing the case. Vector VEC 024B 400-Watt D/C to A/C Power Inverter with Power Level Meter

I bought the Vector MAXX 400 watt inverter because it was about the highest wattage inverter available that still plugged into the cigarette lighter and I am not displeased. The unit comes with both a cigarette lighter cord and alligator clips which can be attached directly to the battery. These are color coded and connected to the unit by the user. I just leave the cigarette lighter cord attached as it still fits in the convenient hard-shell carrying case in that configuration. The unit has audio alarm for low power, a circuit breaker, and a fan which is not too loud.

I found it easy to use just hook up the cables, plug it in and run my stuff. I mostly use this to power a laptop running navigation software or recharge a cell phone and it works great. (I probably do not need this much power for these tasks but you never know when you will need the extra juice for other usage.) It powered the laptop on a 12 hour drive from Chicago to D.C. with no problems. I do use a surge suppressor for the laptop but that is just me and to the best of my knowledge, the Vector MAXX has never triggered the surge suppressor.

My only (mild) complaint is that the cords are a little short. Overall, I find it easy to use and pretty handy to have around. I recommend it.

This invertor works very well. It replaced a burned out invertor I have on a mobile emergency cart-based power backup. I live in the Sierra foothills where PG&E power outages are more frequent than normal. The cart has a 12v deep-cycle battery and two 400 watt invertors mounted on it. It easily runs a couple of CFL lamps and a fan for several hours.

I have a 5000 watt gas generator, but that is too much work for short duration outages and the mobile cart fills the need just fine without all the noise.

I was disappointed to read in the manual that you can only pull 80 watts when this unit is plugged into a cigarette lighter. Many cars have 15amp fuses on the lighter, which is 180 watts. I own two "smaller" inverters that deliver 150 Watts from the lighter. If the 80 Watt limitation had been mentioned in the ad copy, I wouldn't have purchased this item.

I bought this back in February 2006 in a local store but I'm glad to see they're still for sale. I've used it on every long trip I've taken since then and it has earned its spot in my console. I can't remember what I paid for it but $100 would still be a good value. Its great for camping and other situations where power isn't guaranteed. I've run and charged two laptops simultaneously off it with no problems. Friends and family ask where they can get one and I'm glad I can direct them here. Two issues are the fan noise is a bit loud and you can get feedback through the stereo when charging certain devices.

I had no real complaints with the functioning of the unit until it died (and I actually repaired!). I used it on occasion, not very often. However, there is absolutely no excuse for the way this unit is built. It's as if Vector wants the unit to be easily destroyed.

Who puts the protection fuses inside an Inverter casing and permanently solders them with heavy solder to an electronics board? The whole point of a fuse is to protect a component and to be easily replaced. If you saw the inside of this thing you would know Vector Does Not Want The Fuses To Be Replaced. You pop a fuse you destroy the Inverter! Perhaps it is an easy way for them to get paid repair service or paid swap outs.

Either way, whoever designed this thing was crazy. >Definitely Check The Casing Of Any Inverter You Buy And Confirm It Has External Replacable Protection Fuses< If it does not, do not buy. Too bad Vector, I modified the one I have so the fuses may be replaced, although still not easily. They may have changed this since I bought mine but I doubt it.

I was very particular about finding a good charger for my iPod and iPhone; I did not want something that could spoil my expensive gadgets. I found that the ION charger is well designed and met my needs really well. I have been using it for about a year and it has been fabulous. It is well-suited for international travel and can charge my Apple devices without any other voltage conversion device being necessary. The charger is smaller than it looks in the picture. I have been looking for a cheap and easy way to keep a charge in my Jeep Cherokee's battery since it is a secondary vehicle and not driven very often. The NOCO 5W Solar Battery charger seems to have fit that bill. The battery charger seems to keep the battery charged even on these cloudy wintery days in Michigan. The instructions for use were pretty straight forward. So far the charger seems to be doing a very good job.

Reading some of the other reviews, I'm not sure if people realize how little power this solar charger puts out. If you look at a standard plug-in battery charger, they typically have a "high" setting of 8 or 10 amps, often a "trickle charge" setting of 2 amps, and sometimes a short-term "boost" setting of 50 amps. This solar panel is claimed to put out 180 milliamps, which is 0.18 amps, or about 1/6th of one amp. You are not going to be jump-starting your car on the spot, or lighting your cabin all night off this solar charger.

The manufacturer intends it just as a battery maintainer, to counter the gradual loss of charge that batteries experience when sitting unused. So long as you understand that limitation, it appears to be a fine product. The housing seems sturdy, and the wires or cables provided are decent quality. I'm thinking to mount mine somehow on my garage wall to maintain my motorcycle battery since that is something I do not drive every day. Perhaps by maintaining the charge in this fashion I can get away without bringing the battery indoors during the winter, since it is normally only discharged batteries that are in danger of freezing -which can cause internal shorts.

I remember how much tiny solar cells cost at Radio Shack back in the 1970's... although this is too small to provide primary power for more than maybe a single low-drain device, it sure is cool to get something like this to play around with.

Edited to note that these solar chargers come in 2 sizes, and Amazon is now unwisely mixing the reviews for related but different products together. My review here was regarding the smaller version, which is probably best limited to motorcycle batteries. If you are trying to maintain charge on larger car batteries, the larger 5 watt version would be a much better bet.

I was very pleasantly surprised how high quality this solar panel and all of the included accessories were. I have had a few other solar panels in the past and they don't even come close to comparing to the quality and design of this one. I put this panel in the windshield of my old truck using the included suction cups and it feels very secure. I love how slim the panel is and how the cable runs cleanly out the back. In addition, the quick connect cables are awesome and make attaching the right accessory easy.

This panel is the perfect size to keep a standard automotive battery topped off. In the past I have left my truck un-driven for a few months at a time and come back to dead battery. This panel provides enough current to counteract the natural drain of a battery, which is all I really need. I will buying more for some of my other equipment and I highly recommend this solar charger.

We found this came in very handy at campgrounds that had no electric hookup and also one that had problems with the power going out. We could keep the battery in the R.V. charged for a long time and just run the generator a little while at night if we needed the air conditioner or fans running. I plan to purchase one for the cars so I can keep this one in the R.V. at all times. Even if you don't plan to 'rustic camp', it is great to have on hand. It was a life saver when hubby had his tractor out in a muddy area of field and it wouldn't start. This made it so much easier to get it started again. I also love the safety features that protect against overheating and over current. These features are very important in my opinion, as well as being weather resistant for rainy days.

I purchased this device a while back and waited to write a review so I could test this and see how well it works. These items work as described sorry but have only used them once but my buddy and I were in separate cars but this item is fantastic to have if you are traveling in two different cars forget the cell phone use it for somethig else the batteries last a Loooooooooooooooong time. You can communicate back and forth razz each other and the trip is shorter would be great for two families traveling in separate cars or if your following someone to a location you have no idea where it is like when the plan was for us to follow the groom to a wedding in Houston cause we did not know where the wedding was at this was pre internet so no emaps etc. We were weaving in and out of traffic like the movie "To live and Die in LA" My mom had no idea I was a psycho driver who could drive such a way. The Groom was late real late or maybe he just did not want us at his wedding well, they shouldn't have invited us then cause we kept up. If a cop had caught us they would have towed my car and locked me up. Anyway, would have been great if we had had these babies we could have verified the turns if we lost visual contact. I maintained visual contact though because some things are worth dying for.

I bought this with low expectations, considering the price. Basically it works, but sometimes it causes this strange buzzing noise to come out of my speakers and you have to play with the input to get it to stop. A small inconvience that can be rather annoying. Other than that, it's cheap and it works.

This charger makes life a lot easier at times! My husband listens to his MP3 Player and average of 12-14 hours a day and a car charger has become a must for us.
