Premium Retractable Car Charger (CLA) for Samsung Epic 4G Galaxy S

Premium Retractable Car Charger for Samsung Epic 4G Galaxy SWhen I was looking for car chargers for my Samsung Galaxy S 4G, I was kind of disappointed in the lack of reviews. I ended up getting this one because of the price and the fact that it has the retractable wire.

After a year of use, it is still a wonderful item! It did seem to get hot at first, but now it just gets to a decent warm most chargers become. Other than the great retractable cable, I also like the blue light when it's active, although I turn it so it faces down so it's not too distracting while driving!

This charger is definitely a great purchase. I'm very glad I bought it a year ago!

GTMax Black USB Car Charger for HTC Droid Incredible

GTMax Black USB Car Charger for HTC Droid IncredibleUsually before I buy something, I check out the reviews on a product I'm unfamiliar with. The 4 and 5 star reviews for this charger made me a take a gamble on buying it, it was cheap and seemed to work. Not only does it not charge my phone at all,it freezes the screen on my Incredible and every time I plug it in the red light flickers as if the product is turning off and on.It just doesn't work.

I had to return the two that I bought. They didn't charge my phone at all (isn't that what they're supposed to do?). I got an incompatibility message on my phones (HTC Incredibles) whenever I used them. They should be paying you to take them off their hands.

It works good. I am very pleased with it. I wish it would of come with a cord, but I still would recommend people to buy it.

VERIZON SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 I535 ELITE GTR SERIES CAR CHARGER

VERIZON SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 I535 ELITE GTR SERIES CAR CHARGERProduct clearly was not Samsung. It does not charge very well, nor does it fit properly into my phone. Should not have expected much for the cost. I just believe it was wrong to market the product as name brand.

Terrible Charger. Heats up the phone and makes it very hot. Slow to recharge. I would be wary of the damage it may cause the phone.

T&J World TM New Rear View Mirror HD 1080P 2.7" 16:9 HD Car LED Security Vehicle DVR Road Dash Vide

T&J World TM New Rear View Mirror HD 1080P 2.7' 16:9 HD Car LED Security Vehicle DVR Road Dash Video Camera Recorder Accident Camcorder
  • 2.7 inch TFT LCD :Recording resolution:1920x1080 / 1440x1080 / 1280x720 pixels
  • External memory card capacity: TF card (maximum support 32GB)
  • When the car starts, the mirror car camera will automatically start recording.
  • This kind of rearview mirror recorder not only is a car video recorder, but also arearview. It's nice nice and stable quality.
  • Accessory: main machine, AV cable, stand, car charger, USB charger, user's manual

I WOULD RECOMMMEND IT!! Very useful if you want to legally protect yourself in any wrecks.

1) After ordering, It only took (for me since I live in North Carolina, US) 8 Days just to arrive when It stated that it was suppose to arrive 4-6 weeks! That's fast shipping!!

2)the package came in a box. I opened it and found another packaged box, well wrapped in bubble wrap! Attached to it was a personal thank you note from the seller to me ;D very thoughtful that you care about your customers!

3) The product was amazing. Anti-glare, very LONG rear-view mirror. Very lengthy cable to use. 2 Suction cups and 2 clamp-on on the back of the product. VERY EASY INTERFACE and easy accessible menus. FREE 4GB SDHC CARD!! Very very very thoughtful! ;)

4) In my case, I drive a Ford Focus 2005. My device turns on as soon as I plug the charger into the socket whether my car is on or off. But that really doesn't matter to me, I'd prefer that I choose to plug it in. Same thing when I turn off my car, it remains on until I remove the adapter from the cigarette lighter socket.

5) Video 4/5 Very Good quality video. Fish-eye lens makes it capable of viewing across your dashboard. Frames sometimes drop and lighting dims at low lit areas. Also, you are not able to see the license plate of other cars unless you are very close or parked behind a car.

++ Each file is 5 min long (about 800Mb if recorded with audio and video @ HD 720p 60Hz) and there is virtually no lag nor video skipping when starting a new file and resuming recording after 5 minutes

6) Audio 5/5 Masterful audio. I was rolling down a street at 75 MPH with my windows down. Only MINIMUM wind noise can be heard. Radio/phone playing music can be heard crisp clear. Voices can also be heard if only projected in a high voice. You can barely hear whispers and low projected voices.

Car Kit for iPod-iPhone3G (6-in-1B)

Car Kit for iPod-iPhone3G
  • Brand new non-OEM.
  • 7-In-1 Features: FM transmitter: All channels, Car charger, Holder with adjustable clip, LED display for FM channels, Support full stereo music
  • Support all FM channels.
  • Power by car cigarette adapter. No battery required.
  • iPod not included. Compatibility: Apple iPod 3rd, 4th, 5th Generation, Mini, Photo, U2, 1st, 2nd, Gen Nano, Video, Classic, Touch

I don't usually write reviews, but I was so pleased with this product that I had to do it. I have owned several FM transmitters (Griffin, Belkin) and always found them to be very annoying with having to change channels constantly. With this one I drove all the way across New York State and never changed the channel once. There was very little hissing and interference. Moreover, the holder is very handy and adjusts to many different sized ipods. I have a Touch, I didn't try it on other kinds. Great product! (Even has a remote, which I will probably lose, but it's still nifty)

Buy Car Kit for iPod-iPhone3G (6-in-1B) Now

Let me begin by saying that FM transmitter should only be bought if you don't have a AUX port or don't want to fiddle around with cassette adapters.

Now with that little bit out of the way, I can say that from my initial tests this mounting Kit and FM Transmitter work beautifully. I have an iPod Classic and the kit comes with adjustable sides, allowing it to fit all iPods. The sound quality is good, and the kit charges the iPod. All-in-all it is definitely worth the money I have only three minor complaints about the kit. (The transmitter is covered below)

1. The Kit shakes a small amount when you drive due to the vibration of the engine (I drive a 2001 CR-V). I drove for around 30 minutes on variety of roads (highway like, rougher roads) and it didn't fall out, nor did the iPod move out of the container, but it is something of note

2. I have an incase leather protector around my iPod, which unfortunately cannot be mounted with the iPod. Not a big deal, as I have a place to put the case while I'm driving, but could be a problem for some who love their cases

3. Depending on the placement of your cigarette lighter the screen can be harder to see. I can still see mine clearly from where I am, but there is no extension cord to move it to a better part of the car. Also, I have the gearshift near my steering wheel. If your gearshift is on the floor, problems could arise when you are putting the car into park. Like most mounting kits, you must prepare a playlist ahead of time. The remote (yes it works) is nice to skip tracks, but unless you are stopped, it is unsafe to change a playlist while you are driving.

All of these complaints I repeat are minor in the end.

Now how is the sound? I live in Northbrook, IL which is 20 minutes out of downtown Chicago; however I get all of the local suburban radio stations as well as the city stations. Despite all of the radio stations I am still able to find frequencies that work for this. Many people don't know how to use FM transmitters which can explain why some get poor reviews. You need not only a clear station, but have at least the station before and after (preferably two if it exists) also open so there is as little competition as possible.

The sound quality is good, you can listen to your music and hear everything fine. If you are someone who stresses top-notch sound, then go buy an AUX kit for your car, b/c that'll give you the best. But if you are just looking for an alternative besides the terrible radio, this kit will get the job done. One thing as of note is that it is difficult while driving to change the frequency on the radio should you encounter static. Another is that your iPod will not automatically pause once the car is turned off. Many complain about the latter, but I don't see this as a big deal, because you should be taking your iPod with you out of your car you can just turn it off then. (Leaving your iPod in a kit is just asking for your windows to be smashed in)

There certainly are some flashier kits and FM Transmitters that will autoscan and some have presets you can use in case you ever have to switch. But for a price tag slightly under 30 bucks, you won't find a better deal.

I was pretty skeptical about purchasing this product at first. I examined many of the IPOD car kits and many of them had terrible reviews. This was the one that had the least complaints, was one of the cheapest...so therefore, I purchased it. I am completely satisfied with this product. It works wonderfully. The music from my IPOD sounds just as if I was playing a CD in my car. You just have to find a radio station that picks up well enough, which for me only took 2 tries. I think its an excellent product and would definitely recommend it to anyone searching for an IPOD car kit...take it from someone that did tons of research, read many reviews, and is price conscientious.

We live in the Phoenix, AZ area and first tried the Kensington Digital FM Transmiter KMW33185. The Kensington had poor reception and would frequently have static and background noise.

Therefore, we decided to try this one from Bargaincell. The reception on this one is far better than the Kensington. The best thing about it is that it comes in with very little static or intereference. However, that is now a sweet memory since it broke after only 45 days of use (conveniently after the 30 day return period). I guess I should've seen this coming since it is made from a hollow sounding cheap plastic and it was less expensive than some of the other devices out there. So I guess you get what you pay for but I did expect it to last more than 45 days. The place it broke was where you plug it into your lighter/dc adapter. We had to take it out each time it was used because it gets so hot inside the car here that the digital fm station readout would've faded/burned. Maybe if one left it in it the dc plug without removing it each time it would last longer...who knows. One other negative is that it is hard to shift without bumping/knocking into it so you really have to put it into drive first then plug it in (this is true for 3 different vehicles we tried).

I was a little skeptical about the first review on this product, which seemed a bit over the top, but after receiving this product and trying it out, I'm going to have to agree: this is THE BEST FM TRANSMITTER FOR IPODS I HAVE EVER OWNED.

I owned one made by Griffin for my iPod nano and it was decent, but there was only one channel (87.9) that worked where I live (15 minutes from downtown Minneapolis) and there was quite a bit of static sometimes. When I received an iPod Touch for my birthday I went to Best Buy and paid $55 for another Griffin product and it was AWFUL. There wasn't a single station that didn't have a lot of static and it just seemed very poorly made.

I then found this online for half the price, and the sound quality is excellent. It honestly sounds as good as a CD on several channels in throughout the city. The packaging concerned me at first, as there are several misprints which made we wonder if as little care went into the product as went into the packaging, but after several days of using this I couldn't be more pleased. My one concern is that the plastic that the holder is made of seems a little cheap and I'm concerned that it might break if I change it from one car to the other too often. At this price, though, you can buy two of them for the price of one terrible Griffin product!

One other minor complaint: the photo here shows that it is black, but the one I received was white. I would have sent it back and requested a black one to go with my Touch, but I really don't care and I've been so pleased with it that it seemed like a pretty minor thing.

BARGAINCELL: If you want to send me the right color, I'd be happy to edit my review to reflect that you did!

GTMax Metalic Silver 2-Port (2.1A Output) USB Car Charger Adapter for Apple iPhone® 5, 5th Generat

GTMax Metalic Silver 2-Port USB Car Charger Adapter for Apple iPhone® 5, 5th Generation, iPad ® Mini TabletJust got my new phone and wanted to have the ability to charge in my car. Well I got about 4 charges out of this unit and it just stopped working. I was so bummed too because I like the way it looks and having two ports, I thought, was a plus. Don't buy it. Now, I can't say anything about their return policy as I did not attempt to return it.

I am very displeased in the performance of the GTMax Metallic Silver 2-Port USB Car Charger Adapter. I only used it a few times, and the last time I plugged it in, it did not work. It did not even show a power light. It had a burnt smell the last time I used it when it worked, and that time was when it died, I believe. I thought it would be a good deal, but it ended up not working right.

My husband and I both have IPhone 5's and we love the phone, bummed they changed the plug so we had to find another charger for the car and I found this one. I believe I can use this for my Kindle Fire as well, haven't tried it yet but this is handy!

Energizer 84021 12V 200 Ca Jump-Start System

Energizer 84021 12V 200 Ca Jump-Start SystemMy husband has an old 1993 pickup with about 125,000 miles on it. Now that he's retired,he only drives it maybe 2-3 times/mth. Of course, at least once a month he has to jump start the battery. He asked me to look up battery chargers, and of course I came to Amazon.com first. I showed him a few systems and he chose this one. He has been so very pleased. Works every time and doesn't take long at all to get things going for him. Great little product and a great price.

After looking at dozens of jump start/battery backups for an upcoming Jeep trip, I decided on this one. It's size and amp-hour capacity seemed perfect. After receiving it I looked for the wall charger and there was none in the box, so I (yup I did) went to the instructions. Instead of a wall-wart style charger this unit has a male two-prong outlet on the back that you plug your own extension cord into, then charge from a 110V AC wall outlet. This renders this model incapable of being charged on the road from a solar panel or vehicle without using an inverter. Also found out that Amazon won't take it back, since it's classified 'hazardous'. They took my money and sure shipped it to me though....

This is a great jump box, I bought it for my daughter's school as some peoples batteries were dying when waiting to pick up the kids. It is easy to use, is a perfect size, and the cables are plenty long enough to get the job done easily.

I like the fact that the jump box doesn't use an AC adapter to charge it, as these are easily lost, instead you can use any 2 or 3 prong extension cord, however this is not included so be prepared to buy one if you don't already own one. I picked one up at the local grocery store for 2 bucks, not a big deal.

Jump-N-Carry JNCXF X-Force 12V Single Battery Jump Starter

Jump-N-Carry JNCXF X-Force 12V Single Battery Jump StarterThis is a very well made jump pak. I've owned a number of jump pak's over the years and this one is the best of them. The cables are longer than any of the others I've had also. An example of the quality. The cables themselves are printed "Made in USA", and have a high quality sheathing on them which makes them very flexible. The most noticeable thing right away was the fact that this one is much "slimmer" than others. In other words, instead of being the size of a normal battery, this pak is slim and tall. Makes it easier to carry and store.

APPLE IPHONE 3G / iPhone 3Gs 16GB / 32GB, iPod Nano 4th Gen, iPod Touch 2nd Gen usb cable + car cha

APPLE IPHONE 3G / iPhone 3Gs 16GB / 32GB, iPod Nano 4th Gen, iPod Touch 2nd Gen usb cable + car charger + travel charger
  • Llight weight and handy for travel or using at work, IC chip inside recognizes a fully charged battery and automatically switches to a saver mode
  • Compact design and retractable coil cord are made for easy storage
  • Type: generic/aftermarket. Black high-impact plastic. LED power indicator. Fits into any 12V accessory outlet or car lighter jack
  • New generic USB Hotsync + Charging [2-IN-1] Cable Update your iPod at high speed with the latest music and data
  • Compatible With Apple: iPhone 3G / iPhone 3Gs, iPod Nano 4th Gen, iPod Touch 2nd Gen, iPod Nano 5th Gen

I bought this mainly for the car charger. I was worried about a generic charger working with the new iPhone 3GS, as it seems a lot of these aftermarket car chargers that are designed for older models aren't compatible due to the Firewire/USB pin issue, but for the price I couldn't pass up giving it a try. I received my chargers this morning what was received was a bit different than pictured (plugs a little different in appearance) but all three seem to charge the phone just fine. I haven't used the car charger long enough to tell if the charge rate can keep up with the heavy battery usage of the GPS-dependent apps, but I'll be sure to update this review if I find that it doesn't.

I cannot believe Frys and Best Buy charge so much for iphone chargers. Here's a complete set so you can leave one plugged to the wall, one in your car and one plugged to the computer without having to move around the usb cable -all three for under 7 dollars! And they're black so they match the iphone. Plus the end which you stick on the iphone is easier to grasp than one that came with the phone.

My delivery from Eforcity arrived within a week of placing my order in great condition.

Received this rather quickly. Nice price for what you get. The car charger did not work with the iPhone 3GS. The power indicator lit up, but would not not charge the phone.

Everything else works great. The usb cable is a retractable type, which is nice because there isn't a long wire laying around on the desk getting in the way.

I would recommend this if you are looking for a wall charger and usb charger to sync with. Maybe the car charger I received was just defective, as other reviewers haven't had a problem with theirs.

These chargers DO work with the iPhone 3GS and the iPhone 4S running iOS 5

Didn't last long, broke quickly. The plastic body was cheap around the attachment. I would not buy one of these again.

Retractable Car Charger for Motorola Droid X

Retractable Car Charger for Motorola Droid XRetractable cord is so thin and works perfectly. retracts back to a small "carry/ store anywhere" size which is a huge difference from the standard chargers with the annoying corrugated cords.

Retractable Car Charger for Motorola Atrix 4G

Retractable Car Charger for Motorola Atrix 4GThe description was a little tricky on this product. It advertised it as being "rapid", but apparently the "rapid" was in relation to how fast it retracts. The retracting mechanism works a little too well (it snatches back the whole cable in about 1/3 of a second). HOWEVER, I can plug my Motorola Atrix in, not use it at all, and after a 30 minute commute, I don't have any more battery than when I plugged it in.

After using this thing, I can't ever imagine paying for it again. The good news is, it's pretty darn cheap, so I'm not out that much. Still, it's not a charger. At best, it will let your idle phone break even on power consumption.

PROs: Cheap, and retracts the cord very well.

CONs: Doesn't charge at all.

RESULT: If someone bet me to put the "live" end in my mouth, I'd take the bet, because this charger is so weak.

Works just average at first then doesn't charge at all... All that it is good for is holding a charge.

Motorola Atrix 4G MB860 Combo Rapid Car Charger + Home Wall Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable +

Motorola Atrix 4G MB860 Combo Rapid Car Charger + Home Wall Charger + USB Data Charge Sync Cable + Black Horizontal Leather Pouch for Motorola Atrix 4G MB860The power cords fit the Atrix perfectly. The Atrix charges as it should. The only draw back is that when charging with the wall plug and car adapter, you are unable to use the phone while it is charging. The touchscreen does not respond while plugged in. I read about similar results from other people with other aftermarket chargers. It seems that this phone (as well as other phones) tend to be very picky when it comes to different chargers. I did notice however that when using the USB charger, you are able to work the phone normally while charging. The case is nice but fit the phone loosely. Maybe its just not my style but the case will not get any use from me at all. As long as your OK with not being able to use it while charging, this is a great buy for the price and ammount of accessories you get. I would buy it again if i had to.

First, let me say thank you for the prompt service. I love my leather pouch and it fits perfectly over the after market case I bought. Also, the wall charger is actually better than the wall charger that came with the phone. It is longer by about a foot and it lights up to let me know that it is getting power. The extra cord length has allowed me to place the phone on a table while it charges. The original cord from motorola was so short that I had to lay the phone on the floor while it charged. The car charger does not work in all of my vehicles. The vendor graciously offered a refund for the defective part or a replacement. I can't believe how much great stuff I got for the price!!! Great value for so little money and EXCELLENT vendor service.

I will be telling all my friends about this.

Thank you so very much for the great cheap stuff!!!

I bought this for a 2005 Chevy Colorado. I used a Metra 95-2009 Double DIN Installation Multi-Kit for Select 1995-2008 GM/Honda/Isuzu/Suzuki Vehicles installation kit and an Axxess GMRC-01 Class II GM Chime Retention Interface to keep my chimes my truck doesn't have On-Star or a separate factory amp. I also got the Scosche Mda-1B 1988 Up Gm Micro/Delco Antenna Adapter because GM uses a small antenna plug. All parts were exactly what I needed. The radio fit perfectly WITHOUT cutting the truck's metal rear support bracket inside the dash. The truck has Boston Acoustic speakers in the front doors and factory speakers in the rear. As a result I keep the fader set to the front speakers only. This truck has no dimmer wire or illumination wire so the dimming feature will not work. I did not need navigation because I use my Droid and I don't need DVD or movies in the truck. I had that feature in my last head unit for three years and never did watch a movie in the truck.

I like that it's compatible with my existing Sirius SCC1 receiver I didn't want to have to buy a proprietary Sirius receiver. That kind of thing just rankles me and it's a BIG reason I chose this unit. I just plugged it in and it simply worked. The unit will hold 18 Sirius presets and I can choose to display Artist and Track at the same time.

Also, the ability to read USB MP3 files is great I like to throw audio books on a USB stick for long drives. The Clarion will remember the track position even after the truck is turned off and the USB stick removed so when I put the USB stick in again the unit will shift to the USB source and start playing where it left off. This is a great feature for audio books. Fastforward/rewind is accomplished by holding the Next Track/Previous Track buttons.

Good bluetooth connection with my Droid X The unit connects automatically with both BT phone and BT audio at the same time. (My wife's much-more-expensive Pioneer AVIC will not connect both phone and audio to her Incredible at the same time; she has to choose one or the other and go through the cumbersome process to do it.) I can play music on my phone and sound comes out of the Clarion instead of the phone and I can pause, skip tracks, control volume, etc with the Clarion. The BT Telephone part also works great and the sound is fine. The microphone is built into the unit. The Clarion easily accepted my Droid X phone book although it wouldn't transfer the contacts in my favorites but I think that is a problem with the phone and not the Clarion I'm still working on it. It is not possible to add single numbers to the phone book. The Clarion phone book stores all the names in Last Name | First Name order which I don't like. Calls are not that easy to start from the Clarion unless it is redialing a recent call. Trying to direct dial from the radio while driving would be crazy because its way too complicated. However, incoming calls work perfectly (and mute the radio during the call) and I can make outgoing calls from the phone while it sits in the dock and then it's hands free speaker-phone over the Clarion. Overall I'm extremely happy with the bluetooth and this is another BIG reason I am happy with this unit.

Aux-In jack on the front haven't used this yet but its good to have.

Double Din Big two-line text thats easy to read while driving. The buttons are not all mashed together and the volume knob is big. It's easy to control the unit quickly and safely. I appreciate this after driving another vehicle with a single-din unit that had dozens of tiny buttons and practically unreadable text and button labels. However, I can't see the clock at the same time as anything else which is a negative in other words I can see Artist and Track, or Station or whatever but if I want to see the clock it will be all I see. They should have left a spot where the clock can always be visible.

The FM sounds pretty good better than the Sirius music stations I think. I can't compare the FM sensitivity to the factory radio because I took out the factory radio long ago...

Music sounds good enough with my BA speakers. Not outstanding, but good enough for me. In my younger days when I was more into music I would have demanded more and probably used an external amp and sub-woofer, etc (and also bought a more expensive brand just because of the name!) but nowadays I mostly listen to talk radio on Sirius. However, like I said, music sounds very acceptable if I don't crank it up way too loud. I actually removed my external Alpine amp at the same time I installed the Clarion. I don't feel like I need it.

The ability to change colors is very cool. Right now I have it on a custom yellow which looks real good.

The remote, which I don't use, has a mute button but the head unit does not. However it's easy to turn down quickly due to the huge volume knob.

I did test the CD part which was fine, but I probably won't be using that either.

There are three ipods in my house so I could test that feature but I just don't care enough to do it. I can use my Droid over bluetooth if I want to play portable music.

Bottom line is that I am very happy with the Clarion considering it's price and would certainly buy again if I needed another head unit.

I picked this up this weekend and replaced an older non-amplified Alpine.

This unit is very light. It fit my WRX well after tucking the cabling behind the center vent ducts; and only needing a small custom made trim ring to fill the gaps. The unit went in easily and cleanly. The sound is VERY clean (no EQ setting used). I'm running all channels though older Blue Thunder amplifiers and the imaging is good, bass is clean punchy and the unit looks clean in the dash. The illumination lets you match the car's color very well.

The USB port is the main reason I got this unit. I have a microSD keychain USB adapter that I can toss 8GB of music on, and it plays with no problem. It seeks and changes track incredibly fast. Faster than an iPod.

The bluetooth paired easily with the MyTouch 1.2. I've tested calls and it worked great. Had to adjust the mic gain up some, but thats all.

BONUS: The deck controlled winamp on my android phone. This was a complete surprise to me and I actually giggled when I discovered it.

Radio reception seems fine, I'm not a huge fan of local radio but what it picks up comes in clear. I haven't spun through the entire 'dial' but my main stations are loud & clear. You haven't heard NPR/PRI until the background sub-bass from on-location interviews shakes your seat. ;)

My only gripe is the display. While installing it I thought I had (inexplicably) gotten the dimmer wire screwed up as I could not see the display *at all* while looking directly at it (leaning over the center console installing it). Looking at it off-axis from either front seat helped but it was still pretty dim. I had to crank up the contrast to full to comfortably read the display and I'll likely have to get my windows tinted to have it be bright enough to be readable at a glance on the road. Granted, this is not helped by the high installation point and slight upward angle of the WRX radio location. I may try a non-glare phone screen protector to see if this helps.

I'm still fidgeting with settings but so far this is a keeper. I was looking at its predecessor deciding on this level of head unit or going with a full-blown Nav system that was literally 10x the price. I'm glad I went this route. It was inexpensive, works great and was super-simple to install. As far as nav, Google maps using the blutetooth audio can tell me where to go.

Bottom line: feature rich great sound looks good HOWEVER, display is NOT daylight friendly. BUT if you have a car with window tint, this is your double DIN head unit.

After a frustrating visit to CarToys (they insisted that I needed to spend $600 to $700 for a new stereo and speakers), I took my stock radio out of my 2004 Ford Explorer to find a jumble of 49 wires and thought, oh no, what have I gotten myself into!

After much research starting here on Amazon (Catamount's advice was invaluable), to Metra (Justin at Metra went above and beyond), and ending on Ford Explorer forum sites (where I located a PDF on removing the door panels to replace the stock speakers), I found my way through the wire jumbles and soldered Metra's wiring harness to the CX501's and then connected it all into the stock Ford harnesses. After which, I was happily astonished at the Bluetooth phone connectivity and great sound (coupled with my iPod) of the CX501. All for about $280 you can install an excellent new stereo along with new speakers. The CX501 paired without any issues to my Droid and controls my iPod just as easily as on the device itself. The sound, coupled with new speakers, blows away the factory radio. It begs the question, why didn't I do it sooner?

If anyone, like me, is new to head unit/speakers replacement, and needs help removing the Ford door panels, let me know and I'll get you the link to the PDF (I've found that Amazon strips URLs out of reviews).

The other pieces include:

Metra Harness (for Ford's with stock Amp and Sub-woofer): Metra 70-5521 Radio Wiring Harness for Ford 03-Up Amp

Nice sounding easy to install Kenwood Speakers: Kenwood KFC-P680C 6-Inch x 8-Inch Easy Fit Ford/Mazda Speaker System

Notes: I had to install a RadioShack 5V voltage regulator between the Amp turn-on in the new radio to the stock Amp turn-on since the new radio is 12V while the stock Ford Amp is 5V. Metra told me if I didn't the sub-woofer would probably "pop" when you turned the radio on. Also, the pin-outs for the Ford harness can be found on the Metra package and also on sites such as InstallDoctor and Cruthfield.

I'm very satisfied; it was well worth the time. Good luck!

Bought this for my 2001 Pontiac Grand Am GT as a replacement for the factory headunit. My car originally had the premium Monsoon stereo, but I was told while it had an external amplifier, it was held back by the not so great Delco head unit. I popped this radio in via a Scosche GM wiring harness from Walmart for $30 and it worked nearly perfectly. Sound is crisp and clear and a vast improvement over the old headunit.

I chose a double din radio because I want to preserve the "stock" look to act as a deterrent against stereo thieves (my 95 Suburban recently had its single din radio stolen). With this radio it's kind of a "have to look twice" to realize it's not the factory radio. And most radio thieves don't give a rip about factory radios. The only problem is that Clarion is on the front of the radio in large enough print. Perhaps I'll have to get a sticker that says Dual or Jensen.lol

Overall sound quality over all the inputs I've used has been very good. The bass is very good, almost too good in fact as my rear deck speakers are probably being pushed to their limits now. Radio reception is pretty good, not quite as good as factory, but good. And that may be due to the fact that I have to use an antenna wire adapter.

I love the customizable face colors. I have a Pontiac and they have red interior, at night the radio totally looks like it's the factory unit.

I picked this unit over it's older sibling the Clarion CX609 because of the way the Bluetooth is implemented. In the CX609 you have to run a microphone and a wire up your A-pillar or wherever you want it (I don't have the patience to do that) with the CX501 it's integrated into the unit itself and with adjustable gain/sensitivity it works very well. It's so convenient.

A weakness is the interface, it's not the most complicated radio I've used but the ease of use from a factory radio is definitely missed. Sometimes when in iPod mode if I'm in a playlist and want to select another song in the playlist, I have to go back out to the top iPod menu then >music>playlists>playlist I want>song I want. Other time it allows me to browse within the playlist without going through the menus again. And I can't figure out why it does that sometimes.

Also installation was kind of a pain. Both do to engineering choices by Clarion and by GM/Pontiac. The space behind the radio is very tight. I originally learned about this unit at crutchfield.com and they said I might have to modify the space to fit the radio. I didn't have to do that, but it's very close fit, and probably would benefit from cutting the rear support bracket. That said, the clearance issue wasn't due to the radio itself, but the RCA jacks coming out of the rear of the unit. Most radios I've seen have female RCA jack ports in the back for adding on an amplifier. This radio has female RCA jack wires in the back meaning that even if you don't use an amplifier, you still have the RCA jacks coming out of the back of the radio. And they go right up against the rear mounting bracket in my car. Had these just been empty ports, my installation would have been relatively easy. But it does work and it does fit in a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am. It's not the prettiest install, but it is doable.

Also, the illumination/dimming feature doesn't seem to be working on my unit. I have the setting on, but when my headlights come on everything dims to the night setting except the radio. Now this could be a defect in my unit or a defect in my data harness (the one from Walmart). It's not a big issue though, at least not for me. I'm going to give Clarion the benefit of the doubt and say it's a problem with the data harness by Scosche, since I bought it from Walmart.

Overall, I'm loving this radio and am glad I decided to go with it. I recommend it, but if you have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am, I'd keep a radio shop on speed dial, I came really close to giving up and having my local shop install it.lol

Oh, and the price here on Amazon is a really really good price. It's $50 less than Crutchfield and the few radio shops that carry it.

I own a Verizon iPhone 4 with unlimited internet 3G plan. I wanted to replace my factory original double-DIN CD player radio on a 2006 Ford Escape XLT. The criteria used to select this unit was that it must SIMUTANEOUSLY connect via Bluetooth to my phone to stream Pandora music (much better than subscribing to Sirius radio), listen to audio commands from my GPS Navigator app (Navigon and Waze), and take incoming phone calls. The built in microphone for calls was a big plus. I like the previous reviewer's statement that a double DIN unit looks similar to factory original to fend off car thieves. Although the unit is designed with a USB port to accept a iPhone sync cord and has features to direct iTunes and at the same time charge the unit, this standard USB charger port delivers only 0.5 amps. iPhone requires a 1 AMP charger to charge while streaming. iPhones are notorious for draining the battery if all features are turned on. This would be important when going on long trips.

I had the unit professionally installed. The installer said it was easy with a bracket unit and necessary adapter plugs which were purchased separately. Below is a preliminary review of my experience so far:

1) Bluetooth connectivity is excellent. The initial pairing of the device was abit difficult because the instructional manual was not very clear. With the help of the installer I was able to initially pair the stereo to my iPhone in 2 minutes. After the initial pairing, you just need to go into the iPhone settings and connect to the device each time. Your phone ID will appear on the unit display upon connection.

2) Stereo streaming from Pandora via Bluetooth. Excellent sound! The A2DP Bluetooth audio processing allows full range of sound to come out beautifully from the factory speakers. The 50W amp (per channel) built in amplifier gave my factory original speakers clear crisp sound which were far superior from what the OEM stereo could deliver. I was considering to buy the CX501 singer DIN unit, but read that it only delivers 17 watts RMS per channel versus a full 50W per channel with this double-DIN unit. The display is also easier to read. It also works very well with audio while watching Netflix streaming video and Podcasts on the road. There is 4 preset equalizer settings and a custom setting. I find that the "Excite" setting is best suited for my type of music (old school that is heavy on the bass).

3) GPS navigation audio directions via Bluetooth. Whenever a voice command to turn emits from the GPS app in the iPhone, it automatically lowers the volume to the steaming music. It then returns to the music back to normal volume. This feature is indicative of the phone, but it nice to know that the Bluetooth connectivity remains solid between the iPhone and the stereo. One disadvantage is that I like to crank up the music while on the road, this causes the GPS voice to also come out loud. This is a problem with the software app on the iPhone and not the stereo unit.

4) Phone Calls: pressing the play button allows me to answer calls. When in the phone mode, you can control the volume easily on the stereo. The person on the other line can hear my voice very well. The microphone is located on the left top corner of the unit so you may need to lower the fan speed of the air conditioner if a vent is located next to the unit and it is noisy. After the call has ended, the music and GPS commands return back to normal without loosing Bluetooth connectivity.

5) I like the option of also plugging via USB port a flash drive with MP3 files, or plugging in via 3.5mm jack any other audio device.

6) Display. I like the large 2 line display. However, I was disappointed to see that when playing the radio, I lost the ability to see the name of the radio station I was listening to as well as the song. This feature was included in the factory original display. Also the clock was always displayed on the factory unit (my car does not come with a separate clock on the dash board). This stereo has a clock but it displays on a separate screen. You press the "DISP" button on the unit to cycle through the display features.

12V 7.2AH Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) Battery for CSB EVX1272 F2 T2 ELECTRIC VEHICLE

12V 7.2AH Sealed Lead Acid Battery for CSB EVX1272 F2 T2 ELECTRIC VEHICLEI bought this battery to replace a spent battery in a ten year old portable inflator. A new inflator costs $50 and the local battery store wanted nearly $40 for a new battery, so I was just thinking of buying a new inflator instead. When I found the Chrome Battery for only $17.49 including shipping, I was skeptical, but this is the real deal. It arrived quickly and was fully charged. It is identical to the OEM battery and physical quality is excellent. I installed it after further charging, and the inflator works perfectly. It has a 1 year full replacement warranty and a 2 year prorated warranty through a USA based company. This is a great value product. 5 stars.

Accupower Accu-manager 2010 AA-AAA Battery Charger Charges Nimh, Nicd, or Ram Batteries

Accupower Accu-manager 2010 AA-AAA Battery Charger Charges Nimh, Nicd, or Ram BatteriesI bought this directly from thomas distributing and it does a very good job of cool and complete charging aaa and aa nimh batteries. Cant get any better than this charger. Extremely high quality with German engineering.

This charger charges batteries as well as I could have hoped. It is much faster than the last one I owned, but I wish it also had the capacity to charge the larger batteries like C and D cells. You also have to have two batteries charging at the same time, which is only slightly inconvenient. I think it will meet our needs.

Even though I have only used it a few times it works great for AA batteries. But I recently bought a phone that used AAA rechargeable Nimh batteries and even though it showed they had charged them when I put them in the phone they showed they were just about dead. I used the actual phone charger and charged for 7 hours like recommended and they charged to full fine on the phone charger so not to sure about charging AAA with it. I like the fact that I can take it with me in the car and use the 12v system. My camera seems to be a battery hog so it will come in handy when I take a trip.

Update. I have used this a number of times since I bought it. I even bought the same brand 4 pack AA batteries for a digital camera. I charge in pairs and it always seems like one finishes charging and then other one won't stop charging. I have used Ni-cads for years and I know when they start to warm up that usually means they are at the peak of there charge. I am not sure if I have a bad battery but it does it with another brand I have also and it doesn't help to change charging bays. I also just bought cordless phones that use AAA size Ni-MH batteries and this charger is supposed to be capable of charging them, well it wouldn't charge them. I stuck then in there and it showed they were fully charged but when I put the batteries in the phone they showed dead. I ended up having to just charge them in the phone charger.

I do property inspections EVERY day of the year...24/7, 365/365. When the banks call I respond and take gazillions of pics. My little Fuji camera is on its eleventy-seven millionth pic and my r/c's are on their eleventy-eighth.

I was using a Duracell 4-bank unit that glowed red till charged and then this amazing green light showed up and said 'DudE! We're charged!!!'. My Father-in-law liked it so much, he took it into his room and made ham and cabbage with it. That's how yummy it was.

Desperately in need of a new smart charger, I searched the interweb for days. For some reason I kept getting recipes for ham and cabbage until I hit on this new site called Amazon. Uh huh...y'all knew about this and didn't tell me.

Anyhoo, I did the research on smart chargers and this one came out on top in every category. I ordered it and within days USPS shoved it so far into my mailbox, I had to use both hands and all three feet to get the box out. I immediately popped in my dying batteries. It blinked, blinked faster and then stopped blinking. Surely all those dead batteries can't be charged already!?!?!?

Peeps, this thing is not only smart, it's super fast. 30 minutes for a completely dead NiMH. My deadest batteries were standing in line for a chance to swim in the AccuPower pool. I couldn't pop them in fast enough. Some of our old NiCds took a little longer but the NiMHs were literally begging for something to run!

The one thing I was looking for in a charger was a signal to let me know when they're charged and this machine not only tells you, but it trickle charges after they're full and protects them from overcharging. Old Nicads can be reconditioned with 3-4 charges and it brings them back to within 90% of their original condition.

The one thing I'll miss is the anticipation of a fully-charged battery to go with my bagel, dead Fuji and coffee on a cold winter morning. The one thing I won't miss is a warm, fully charged set of batteries when I need them the most :)

This is the smart charger you're looking for.
