I have the 2000 watt pure sine inverter. It works well, and provides enough power to run my coffee pot, computer, and have the refridgerator start, all at the same time.It is a true 115 volts, (115 volts on the positive side, and 0 on the negative), which allows things like UPSes, battery chargers, etc to work just like they would under utility power.
Now for the "issues". The voltage on the remote monitor reads about .2 volts below the actual votage in the batteries.
The fan kicks in every time there is a load on the inverter greater than 45 watts. The fan is very noisy, and sometimes, it really screams (sounds like the bearings are bad). Not sure how long the fan will last. The fan also surges even under constant loads near 70 watts. I would suggest having the inverter in a separate room, where you can close the door, so you don't have to hear it.
I run this inverter 24x7 on an off grid circuit.

This is a very nice inverter. It's exactly what you'd want in an inverter. The GFCI plug and included digital readout are great features to have. The Samlex website is also very nice and full of information about the product. It's not some shoddy piece of gear. I hooked it up to my Fluke meter and sure enough it read at 60hz and the waveform was right on. The safeguards, and automatic shut-off are also nice and work as expected. My XBOX360, small TV, MacBook Pro, and iPhone were able to be used from this with no problems. One word of caution though. Open this thing outside. There are little beads of Styrofoam inside of the actual box that are statically attracted to EVERYTHING. They get everywhere...would hate to know that I went through cleaning that mess up and didn't warn someone else. :^)
