Milwaukee 0880-20 18 Volt Cordless Wet/Dry Vacuum,

This vacuum works great. I find that it works well even as the batteries are going down. It does eat batteries pretty quickly but I'm able to get everything done I need. I also vacuum more often now that I have it. One thing to keep in mind is that is does not come with batteries. It really only makes sense to buy it if you are already invested in Milwaukee tools.

This is a great portable vacuum. My problem is that it was described as having "a long continuous run time." That time is actually, according to both Milwaukee (personal communication) and personal experience, about 11 minutes on a fully charged 18V battery. That was less than I expected and will necessitate buying a second battery. This vacuum with two batteries at $51.18 each becomes a pretty expensive proposition. I can recommend this vacuum only if you are already invested in Milwaukee portable tools and 18-volt lithium ion batteries.

One saving grace is that if you don't anticipate using the vacuum very long at any given time, the batteries do have a short recharge time, so one battery might be sufficient.

This is definitely the Milwaukee Tool quality that I have come to respect. It has plenty of pick-up power and best of all it works with my 18V Compact Li-ion batteries that came with my drill (It also works on 18V Ni-Cad batteries as well). The battery bay has two different mounts that allow the use of either style Milwaukee 18V battery (however, only one battery can be used at any given time). It has a float inside the pick-up chamber that turns it off if too much water comes in. The hose and cabinet are made from heavy duty material making it great for rugged use. It comes with two small wands one of which is for cracks and crevices and the other for general pick up. These are kept nicely tucked away under the lid in their perspective storage areas. The only thing I wish they would have added is a small brush attachment but that is a minor thing. My wife has already snagged it to use on the carpeted steps because of how easy it is to use. Very pleased indeed!

Since I already own several Milwaukee 18V cordless tools and 2 batteries, this was a fantastic addition. For small jobs, this thing can't be beat. Lightweight, sturdy, extremely portable, great suction, good attachments. For jobs like vacuuming the car, picking up sawdust or drywall, and other small projects around the house, this is the first vacuum I go to. It's very well made, and I'm actually really impressed with the hose on it really high quality and it stretches to probably 5 feet or so, but re-coils nicely. Much better quality than any typical wet/dry vac hose. And since it's a standard 1 1/4 hose, you can add a variety of additional attachments. Plus, you can use it as a blower too.

I have no idea what the continuous run-time is, I haven't used it for more than about 5 minutes straight. But, on a single V18 battery, I can use it intermittently for several weeks (1-2 minutes at a time every 3rd or 4th day) before I need to recharge the battery. This vacuum is compatible with all 4 versions of Milwaukee 18V batteries (V18, M18, M18 compact, and NiCad).

3 limitations: 1.) It's cordless, so don't expect to run it for a half hour straight and vacuum your entire house. 2.) To make it so portable, the storage for the attachments is small. It will only hold the 2 attachments it comes with, so if you add anything else (like a brush tool), you'll need to store them separately. 3.) It's got a special lock-in hose, so you can't take any 1 1/4" shop-vac hose and plug that in.

For what it's worth, my wife rolled her eyes when she saw this show up (thought I was just buying another toy). But she had to admit that she loves this thing now too. Keeps it in the hall closet and it's the first thing she grabs to vacuum up the cat litter off the floor.

If you have the batteries already, it's a great addition. But if you're just looking for a portable vacuum, this is probably close to a $150 investment by the time you're done (just look at the "frequently bought together" section of this page).

From Lowe's (same author) This inverter has so far (about three weeks of use) proven reliable and easy to use. The question is does the average person need a "6000" watt inverter. From what I've learned, it depends mainly on what your appliance starting loads require, not the operating load. If you're going to run a modern refrigerator or microwave oven I've found the 3000 watt starts and runs ok. But I wouldn't recommend it for the big microwave ovens--the 3000 watt unit just can't keep up with the demand. A small airconditioner that has a 1000 watt operating consumption may well require 4000-5000 watts over 5-10 seconds to start its compressor. The 3000 watt inverter has been known to kick off line after only a couple of seconds at 4500 watts and therefore won't start the airconditioner. This 6000 watt inverter does well here with plenty of operating juice to keep stuff running, but puts a real drain on the batteries.

Also worth noting is this 6000 watt inverter seems to maintain more voltage stability--I've run it at around 3000 watts and the its output voltage never dropped below 118 VAC and its frequency remained steady at 59-60 cycles per second.

Botom line is that to-date, I'm very satisfied with the 6000 watt inverter's performance and reliability

First I bought a small inverted thinking it will be enough to power up a big air condition and it failed. Then, I bought this humongous powerful inverter and at first it also failed. Their customer service is GREAT explain the problem. I was connecting the inverter with gauge 4 cables and it was powering up most stuff, but when it came to the 10,000 BTU air condition it failed. Then, they told me to change does weak gauge 4 cables and get gauge 0. After, that it was a beauty. This is hooked up with 2 106AH marine battery for now which I am going to put 10 in total. They are being charge by solar panels for now I only have 360 watts with gauge 4 wires, later I will put for 1000 watts of solar panels.

Quick update, the A/C actually sucks about 4,600 watts for a good 10 seconds before it drops down to regular watt at 890 watts. Sense this thing actually is 6,000 watts and 12,000 peak there is no problem. With does 2 106AH marine battery it last just over 1 hour at night and 1h20min at night.

Has enough power to handle every thing we have plugged in to it, fridge, microwave, coffee pot and still has plenty of power, but is very heavy.. weighs 35 pounds..next time I will request different boxes for shipping.. I have purchased this unit to be used if the grid goes down and not as my primary power source. It is larger than what I actually need but the price so reasonable I wanted a system that could easily take care of my needs. I have an ample battery bank so my peace of mind is in control.

It will run most everything in my home and for a short time I did run a small window A/C. The exception is that my older food freezer will not run with this so I also purchased a small 1kw pure sine wave inverter for use of my freezer.

Energizer 10W Apple Charger

I bought several of the 10W Wall Chargers for use with iPhones and iPads. I was pleased enough to place another order for several more. I like to have several chargers in multiple locations such as the bedroom, living room, at work, laptop bag, and luggage for traveling so I never have to worry about forgetting a charger.

Size:

From the photo, these appear to be similar in size to the Apple iPhone charger (only 1 Amp.) They are not. They are about 50% larger. This is OK as they are still relatively compact, but in a power strip you won't be able to get them in adjacent outlets. I tested this in a wall outlets and because wall outlets are spaced further apart than on a power strip, you can just get two of these in to the top and bottom outlet if you flip one over upside down. This shouldn't be a problem if you're plugging them in to a wall, but I only mention this because I imagined these being a little smaller than they actually are.

The Apple iPad charger is a larger rectangular brick that is designed to stick out more but not obscure adjacent outlet plugs which is a more efficient design. I'm not sure what Energizer was going for with design, but it seems like form took priority over function.

Folding Prongs:

The plug prongs fold in for travel which is a nice feature.

Performance:

Short of connecting a meter up to this, I have observed very similar charging speeds with this as compared to the Apple 2.1 Amp iPad charger, so it appears these are delivering a full 2.1 Amps.

The iPad and iPhone charges as fast as it does with the Apple iPad charger.

Faster charging with iPhone:

The iPhone charges faster with a 2.1 Amp charger than it does with a 1 Amp charger taking advantage of the additional power output (up to 80%, after 80% iPhones turn to a slow charge to protect the battery.) This is true with this charger as well as any 2.1 Amp charger including the Apple charger.

I shopped around a bit for a 2.1 Amp charger that was less expensive than the Apple charger. I found a lot knock offs with questionable reviews (such as that they don't deliver an actual 2 Amps of power.) I trust the Energizer brand and the price is about half of Apple's price. I would recommend this charger so long as you're OK with the size and shape.

This is a great little car charger for multiple devices. We used it to charge my son's iPod and it worked fairly quickly, and very easily. It has a general USB port, so it can charge anything that will utilize that type of port.

The single complaint I have is that the cord is not very long at all. It certainly reaches to charge something placed in a center console, or stretched to the limit on the passenger seat, but would not not reach any further.

A longer cord would be a nice option for road trips where the passengers in the back seat could have something plugged in, or to make front seat charging a bit easier (the device could sit more safely at the back of the front seat rather than at the edge).

Generally, I think it is a handy device with multiple uses if you are going to use it close at hand.

I have an iphone 4s and I noticed when using apple and 3rd party power adapters I would get static in the background while playing music or in the phone audio. The energizer was a step up for me. It charged my iPhone but I did not notice the static. I also used it to keep an ipod touch 4 charged while on a road trip.No complaints and the included cable is really well made. Not like some of the cheap *#($%X^& cables I've tried elswhere. It will charge many USB products like my Kindle DX! So I think this is a 5 start worthy product.

I got these a few days ago, and my main complaint is that the cord is extremely thin. I've used them a couple of times, and in the short term, they are ok. While this charger fits your phone properly, it does not fit the car charger port properly. It appears to be too small for the socket and therefore does not stay engaged. After second, the charger pops our of the socket and no longer charges the phone.

This car charger is very poor quality. After waiting what seemed forever for it to arrive, I was very disappointed. It feels like cheap brittle plastic and, it turns out, it IS cheap brittle plastic. This product is just what I wanted to enable me to listen to mp3's w/out earbuds. The speaker volume could be a bit higher, but is adequate for a 14 x 30 ft room. There's a hodgepodge of components with no instructions so I had to decide what I wanted and figure out how to make it work. You may think there are missing pieces, but the compartment for AAA batteries and the connecting cable from the speaker to the player is hidden and isn't easy to open, so exploration, persistence, and patience is required. Packaging is adequate and shipping/arrival time good.

I have an off-road trailer that I use for research. I purchased the APS750 and coupled it with a 105 AH AGM battery in the nose box of the trailer. Away from mains power, it provides excellent run time for several laptops and communications equipment. I keep the battery charged with solar panels off-road and take advantage of the 20A charging capacity of the APS750 when mains power is available. It's a 750W sine wave inverter, transfer switch, and battery charger in a rugged package perfect for my needs. I highly recommend the APS750 for mobile applications where high quality and reliable power is important. I can see where it might make a good emergency power system too.

[Edit Sept. 21, 2011: In my original review I stated that the Tripp Lite APS750 was a pure sine wave inverter. I removed that statement from my review as I learned through investigation that the output is pure sine wave when running on mains power (as expected) and PWM (pulse width modulated) sine wave when running on battery. PWM sine wave should not be confused with the fixed square wave output of cheaper inverters. PWM provides tight voltage regulation (+/5%) and eliminates harmonic noise the static hum you might hear with sensitive equipment if run on a cheaper square wave inverter. PWM sine wave is suitable for sensitive electronic equipment and motors. Anyway, I've been running sensitive radio communications equipment and computers on my APS750 with no problems.]

I use this as a backup power source for my pellet stove. If the power goes out when the stove is on, you get a smoky mess since it relies on a fan for combustion and exhaust. I chose to go the APC route instead of the stove-branded unit I feel more comfortable with a company that knows this business well. I could not be happier with it fast switching, charges the battery fast after the outage too. Ultimately simple as well the switch is either off, or automatic or charge-only. Set it and forget it!

Here in South Florida, we have what would be described as unpredictable weather... which leads to unpredictable power ;-). Like a regular UPS, the unit charges when it has power, and switches to battery during a surge or blackout. Though the transfer time is a bit higher than a typical UPS, it doesn't seem to matter.

I brought one of these down to Costa Rica to deal with the unexpected power outages that happen on a semi regular basis. I hooked it up to two 100 amp hour deep cycle batteries. This will run my lights, electronics, wifi, computer, and short use of tools for a day or more (maybe much longer/ never tested). I separate & leave equipment with higher energy draws (like the refrig, pumps, washer, dryer, air conditioner) off the same power out electrical line. When set to operate automatically, this inverter takes over and supplies the 120 volts of electricity from the batteries via inverter when your grid electricity goes off. This unit will also regulate the grid voltage when voltage drops low or spikes high. The batteries are automatically recharged when the grid electricity comes back on. Great product for good competitive price. In my opinion: This is the BEST DEAL on the market. I believe Tripp Lite knows what they are doing when I study their full line of products. I see they also make auto power supplies for medical use. 2012 Update: My Tripp Lite APS has been working flawlessly for 4 years in Costa Rica's humid beach climate. This product is truley genius. 750 watts of RMS power at demand. Instant switching at selectable voltage drops. The Tripplite APS 750 is set to run off of my 825amp marine battery when it detects a voltage drop below 95 volts. When this occurs It switches from AC pass through power to a 20 second minimum run off of the battery.

If after 20 seconds the line power is still below the adustable threshold trigger, the unit will continue to run off of the DC battery. When the line power is back and stable, the unit resumes AC in-out pass through "while also charging the marine battery at a 20amp rate" to have it fully recharged for the next AC outtage.

If you're experiencing a bad lightning storm and power is flickering, or you are going through brown-out conditions, this device will switch over the instant the voltage drop is detected and will run off of the battery power for a minimum of 20seconds. ( So there is NO rapid switching of source power.)

I use the Tripplite APS 750 to run the main life support pumps on my saltwater tank. " Four punps at a total of 120 watts." My pumps were geting damaged from the rapid switching of AC power causing one of them to malfunction and hence me having to come home to saltwater on the floor.

(Not a problem anymore!) The Tripplite APS 750 says what it does and does what it says. It may only switch to battery power for 20 seconds once in a year, but I know my floors are dry now and the critical systems on the tank are 24/7/365.

By the way, at 120 watts of draw the 825amp marine battery would last over eight hours before it exhausted its usable amp load. If you need more battery run time you can cascade muliple batteries. The Tripplite has no problem with multiple DC sources. Just follw thier insructions.

The first one I ordered could not charge more than one device at a time, so I gave it a bad review. When I called Kensington, they said they would send me a replacement.

I'm happy to say that the replacement works as promised, and can charge 4 USB devices simultaneously. BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE THE POWER TO CHARGE AN iPAD, which requires a special, high-power charger. Although it is physically larger than I expected from the picture, and does NOT have a folding plug, it is quite light, and a great improvement over carrying 4 separate chargers for all my electronics when traveling. I have taken to using it at home, too, because of the convenience. If it were a bit smaller, and had a folding plug, I would give it 5 stars.

This product comes with a removable US electrical plug BUT does not come with the other electrical plugs for non US countries and Kensington will not sell you these plugs. Better to get the IDENTICAL product on Amazon by Lenmar their ACUSB4 AC Travel Adapter which comes with four different electrical plugs and costs less.

An idea long overdue. I got this to take on the road, being fed up with crawling under desks and behind curtains to plug in all my mobile devices for charging in hotel rooms. I found it to be well-designed you can plug it into the top or bottom of an outlet without covering the other side of the outlet, and plug phone, PDA, laptop, etc. into it either going north or south. Why can't all chargers be designed like that? But now I don't need to lug all the chargers! I noticed some other reviews saying the unit didn't have enough power for multiple devices, but I didn't have any problem with that. Fully charged when I went back after a few hours. I plan to start acquiring these for home use and to give as Christmas gifts anyone who plugs in multiple electronic devices every night would find this a huge convenience.

The one I received did not come with the multiple plugs. It only has the plug for American outlets. BEWARE false pictures. It does work with the other voltages but still requires an adapter.

This car charger works fine. Your phone will get charged and it has a red light to indicate that power is flowing through. My completely dead phone fully charged in approx 2 hours. I think that's pretty good. When the engine is shut off the charge will also halt even when it's still plugged into the power port. (Phone will only charge when engine is running) I think when the phone is fully charged the light turns green (I think). But either way it's excellent for on-the-go charging since many newer phones eat up batteries fast due to its frequent usage. ALSO, good way to keep your phone in place as it's attached to the chargeryou won't have to worry about losing your phone between seats and stuff.

I took a chance and bought this even though I saw the bad reviews. I thought to myself "it's only a dollar, if it dies in a month or two like the reviews say, I will just get something else because this does have some good reviews...." This completely ruined my Ipod Classic 80 gig. My Ipod was 1 month old, I had to return it and get a refurbished one because of this!!

It shipped to me real quick so I was happy, then i took it out of the packaging and right away charged my Ipod to a full battery relatively quickly, still happy. Then I went to listen to my Ipod.... Every single song was complete static! I restored it to factory settings and reloaded with the same problem. I took it back to apple who restored it again and put their music on it and they got the same results!

I have never written a review before, but I felt the need to warn anybody who is on the fence about buying this.

I bought it to be used with my ipod touch. I was really excited that I wouldn't have to buy the expensive apple charger, but when I hooked it up I was disappointed. I noticed that if I tried to use the ipod while charging the screen started to flicker. also on places where you have to drag your finger ie. unlock from sleep mode, it seems to be not working properly and it gives it an effect that its sticky like glue, makes it feel like you are dragging it by force. So i didnt take any risk using it anymore and ended up buying the expensive apple's version, so this is a complete waste of money for me.

Unless I'm downloading new music to my iPod video, I prefer to recharge it using this. It's fast and dependable and it's $28 cheaper than an Apple charger, with both doing exactly the same thing. Also there's an effective lock on the plug insert that keeps in firmly in place as it's charging your unit. Recommended as an excellent value.

I think this a great item and should be considered for avid Ipod users. It is compatible and works well with my 2G 2nd Generation Ipod. It charges the Ipod from any wall outlet quickly and easily. This Rapid Wall/Charger was a great investment. It charges my Walkman MP3 in about 90 minutes to a full charge. I've had it about 3 months and use my MP3 player every day. Bought 2 of these sets to have extras around the house and cars. We all use the same phone. The first wall charger failed after 2 weeks with minimal use. The light is on, but it simply doesn't charge. The second wall charger just failed today, less than 3 weeks after I received it. Same problem as the other one. Very little use, they were only spares.

I haven't used the car chargers much, but I don't expect them to last either.

Unfortunately, it costs as much to return them as it does to buy new ones. Plus the hassle of packing and shipping. This company got away with one. Just an awful product.

I must say the home charger has a really bright red light on it. Makes it hard to sleep with it. Otherwise its good. And for the car charger im not impressed at all with it. It doesn't work 80% of the time cause I can't get the plug in the cig lighter, cause of the way the charger is built.
