You can actually tell that the person who designed and made this product rides a motorcycle. Build quality is great and the set includes all necessary components. Installation is fast and easy. Just connect the red and black ends to you battery terminal and you are done.

Well, you still need to run/hide the cable to make it look nice and neat but that's something the manufacturer can't help you with. They, however gave you enough cable so you won't have problems even on a large bike.

What you get in the package are: main cable that connects to the battery and has weather sealed connector that accepts the other cable that actually terminates with a mini usb plug. Included voltage reducer (from 12v to 5.2v) has on/off switch and a green light indicating when the system is on, so you won't accidentally drain you battery. There is also a safety fuse. They also included wire wraps and Velcro tape for cable management. It took me about 30 minutes to finish the work. Most of time was used by planing the run of the cable. Charger worked immediately after installing and my Nuvi 260w gps worked perfectly fine. I took my bike on the road the very same day and went where I have never been before. I couldn't have asked for more. This is so much better than 3 feet of basic wire offered by others.

This charger works great. It was easy to install and had penty of slack in the wiring to allow me to route it in way that was out of the way. Works great with tmy RAM EZ-Strap Mount. Item was advertised to be compatible for the Nook, but it will not charge my Nook tablet. Tried it on a friend's regular Nook and a Nook Color, and it won't charge them either. The USB connector fits, it just won't charge. It did charge my neighbor's iphone, so I guess it's better suited for that. I'm very disappointed with this product.

I love the retractable cord. My phone has issues with its charging port so it doesn't always work for me but works every time for my fiances phone and he loves it.

This is the 2nd one of these I've purchased. The first one has been going strong for several months now w/o issue. Got this one for my wife. I have a smart phone, and the Android OS really appears to drain the battery when you are using a lot of apps. I am also frequently on the phone for conference calls that can last more than an hour, so it is very handy to have my phone charging during travel. (Yes, I am hands-free when in the car!) This charger seems to work well with any mini-USB plug device, esp. different phones but check the voltage, polarity, and compatibility first to be safe. The retraction mechanism is excellent. It keeps a pile of power cord from squirming around the car, getting in the way, or getting caught between the seats. The cord isn't long enough to reach the back seat, but it does stop at any length so you can have just enough cord to stash your phone someplace stable and out of the way in the console, cupholder, or dash. If you need to have your phone charged and ready after the commute or on a road trip, I would recommend this. It is cheap and it works well.

We purchased this set from Amazon marketplace after hearing from a friend who purchased the exact set from REI for her kids. I was a bit hesitant at first when I read some other folks review here, but we thought if we're using them for young kids under 10-year-old, it's worth trying them (jst using them around our small house or bring them to a hike/camping was the main reason).

So far it held up well. Kids dropped them on to the wooden floor and carpeted area, and that didn't break the unit. Easy enough for 5-year-old to use them after a little demo, and small enough for their little hands.

We once heard some electricians on the same radio wave (on channel 1) when we first turned them on, but that was the only time we had heard any other radio channel users. We just changed to channel 3 and never needed to change again so far. What kids talking each other isn't very private matter, so we actually don't care what other people might hear on the same channel.

This unit doesn't come with a charging cradle but only with plug-in power adopter. We didn't like to own another cradle type thing sitting on the counter space, so we preferred having only power cord/adopter. However that could be a minus for some other folks. We also found out these use the included NiMH rechargeable battery pack as well we 3 AA rechargeable or Alkaline batteries. We use Sanyo Eneloop batteries around the house for everything, so when we need to replace the original battery pack, we could use our rechargeable batteries.

Paying bout $37 for kids' use, I think it's worth it for that money comparing to some other toy-company-made walkie talkies.

These two-way radio by Motorola work extremely well for our purposes. Well made and easy to operate. Range is affected by terrain. But for short range like theme parks they work very good.

Only about 2mile reception not 20 as advertised. Fine for our children to play with but if you we're counting on longer range could be a problem.

Yes, I own this Battery Minder product too! My wife thinks I am a battery freak! Maybe I am!! So far, so good, with this unit as I would expect from this company. It is quite durable. Own this unit more than 2 years. I use it for a service truck AGM (non-leaking/sealed) battery hooked to a power inverter 12 to 120 volt. I bolted the solar panel to the top of my camper shell. Then installed control unit next to my inverter inside of camper shell. Unit works well and no problems to date. Wish I could hook another panel to it though. Manufacturer says you should not connect more solar panels. But I could always use another charge controller to add on another solar panel addition. As always, monitor your battery voltage after sundown and battery has "rested" for proper state of charge. Unit came with a quick reference unit for state of voltage/charge.

The order was delivered within four days of purchase. BatteryMart was the merchant, and they did a nice job packaging to prevent breakage. The solar panel works well in all light conditions, even on cloudy days. I use it to maintain the 2 deep cycle batteries on my travel trailer, as we will only use it once or twice over the winter. The hookup was very easy, with all parts clearly marked and set up nicely for install. Its keeps the batteries charged at about 12.5 volts, which is ok for batteries at rest. I wouldn't expect this product to charge the batteries if they were near dead, you would need more solar panels to put out more charge. I've checked the output of the panel with a voltmeter, and it puts out about 1.15 amps, which is a little better than the advertised 1 amp.

I've used it for one summer and for one winter's storage to maintain four boat batteries. In the summer, it kept the batteries at about 85% according to my regular deep cycle charger, which I routinely used to get the batteries to 100% before I went out every couple of weeks or so on a lake that allows only electric powered boats. Charging to 100% took about a half hour each time. I just took the boat out of winter outdoor storage and the batteries were at 95%. I had all four batteries connected in parallel over the winter and the charge to 100% with the regular charger again took about a half hour with a single charge to all four batteries still connected in parallel. I am very pleased.
