Being a Harley rider for almost 20 years, I switched to a sport touring bike, and decided to go with a full face helmet. originally I was excited about the blue tooth option, it's a great idea, but it just doesn't work in this helmet. The noise in the helmet is far too great to even hear anything through the blue tooth, for audio or a phone call. In fact that is likely my biggest complaint with the helmet, it is very noisy. I just use my ipod at almost full volume. The Graphics are ok, it looks good from a distance, but they are decals, it's not a paint job. The shield mechanism works fine, and I haven't experienced too much fogging. Like I said, it's ok, take out the blue tooth and it's probably worth a $80-100 helmet. Honestly I will use it for a while and then plan to spend the money for a Shoei.

Over the past couple months I have now had three different vcan helmets (this specific one being the first).

When I opened my first helmet it had no protective padding around the helmet which probably caused the small cracks in the visor that almost seemed like a design, so after I seen the cracks start spreading I called and returned it.

When my second helmet arrived the first thing I checked for was cracks, and thankfully it had none only this time the Bluetooth button didn't work properly (sometimes couldn't turn it on, if I got it on then it wouldn't feel like being turned off, and it had a problem with charging) so after waiting another couple weeks hoping it'd get better I decided to call and have another one sent out, I am guessing the third times the charm cause this one works great (aside from some minor charging issues).

Shipping time with amazon prime was pretty good, and the functionality of the working Bluetooth is really good, I can hear my music clearly on the highway. Only downside is I can never really tell if I am getting a call while I am listening to music, and so far I have a hard time understanding everyone on the other end of the conversation if I am going about 40.

Overall if you have the patience to potentially wait as long as I did then get it, if not I'd say try something else with the same technology.

So I bought the helmet because I got a good price on it, and I don't know if I will even hook up the bluetooth. But, I do NOT find the helmet noisy and I'm wondering if the other reviewer has had full face shield helmets before which feel/sound very different from the "helmet" half shells that most of the harley riders wear. I've been shopping around my boyfriend has several helmets that I've worn and I've also used some friend's half shells too. This is among the quieter ones I've used.

Now, after we charged it for 36 hours we took it outside to our daughters car which was dead Since May 1st, 2011. Nearly two months. I charged the unit overnight and it was amazing. I've started several cars including my sisters jeep that had been sitting with the battery dead over a month. It started the Jeep in a few seconds. We kept the engine going for 10 minutes and then stopped the car. Without it being connected to the starter/Shumacher power source, the battery was so dead that it didn't even have enough power to turn on the dome light!

(P.S. for the cynical 3 men that asked about this item; please drop the negativity and read. The internet sure can get nasty. All I was saying was in this example that my sisters battery was dead and in bad shape but the charger still started the car. After I disconnected the charger and turned off the car, not even the dome light would go on. We then put the charger back on, started it again and drove to the store to get a new battery. What good is it? It allows you to drive to wherever you need to so you can get a new battery that's why it's good. Sheesh. If you leave your lights on and your battery still is in ok shape, obviously if you start your car the battery will recharge. If you STILL don't understand this then please move on to another review. You keep this in your trunk and when you want to jump a car, you bring it next to your battery. Attach the positive and negative connectors to your cars battery and it starts in an instant. It is amazing. It also has a meter to show if it needs to be charged and it has a bright light that can be turned on when it's dark outside, especially during a rain storm.

If you have a child in college or at home that drives, this is a must have. With so many dangerous situations with young college girls, this can bring them piece of mind. Obviously it's for anyone; wife, husband, or child.

It also has connectors that you can run electrical appliances for various times. It's not a generator so it will be for fairly short times but it will charge a cell phone very easily.

I don't know of a product that I've been so pleased with recently. A great price, for a great product.

In this day in age no one can leave their gadgets at home, even when going camping! We just bought a used school bus that we hope to eventually convert to an RV, but for now it's just a bus..... & busses don't come with cigarette lighters! I was trying to figure out how I was going to keep all of our phones & other gadgets charged for the entire weekend, plus run our air compressor. Then I came upon the Schumacher XP400 Instant Portable Power Source. This machine is super user-friendly, versatile, & lightweight! I took it out of the box & charged it overnight as instructed & it was ready to go! The only thing that would make this power source any better was if it included an air compressor right on it, but since I already had a portable air compressor to plug into it, it was no big deal. This is an inexpensive battery booster. No doubt it will do the job. However, it does not have an on/off switch for the cables. The cables remain hot even when clamped to their posts; I tested them with a voltmeter. This can be potentially dangerous if the battery charger is not secured in a vehicle and it rolls around in trunk. The battery cables are not very secure at all and tend to hang towards the sides. They can rub off. I can see sparks flying if the cables touch!

The positive cable tends to cover the 12 volt outlet. Very annoying. There is no cord. You must plug an extension cord into the back. The cables are quite short; they could use at least another six inches if not more.

No manual with this battery charger. You can download it from Schumacher at batterychargers.com .

Get the XP500 for $10 more. All these problems are solved and you get some more power along with a USB outlet.

I bought this back in February and had't had to use it until this morning (it's mid-November) when my car refused to start. I was a little trepidatious as there were mixed reviews when I bought it, the instructions state over and over that it needs to be recharged every 30 days and it's been at least 2 months since I last plugged it in; but I hooked it up, turned the key and vroom, my car came back to life. Could not have been simpler.

A couple minor inconveniences: The cables are awfully short, but long enough that I could connect them to the battery and rest the unit on my car frame without crossing any wires. And as others have stated, there's no cord to plug the unit in to charge it you need a 3-prong extension cord to do so, unless your outlets are situated perfectly to plug this directly into the wall.

I recently purchased this Sunlinq 12 foldable solar panel to charge up my Tekkeon MyPowerAll 3450 battery pack while out backpacking. When I connected this panel to my voltage meter I was getting about 15 volts and 900mA under full sun. This is plenty of power to juice up any of my gadgets that are able to charge via 12-volt cigarette adapter. It charges my Sony PSP, my daughters Nintendo DS, powers my GPS unit, cell phone, my MP3 player...just a great piece of kit to have in an emergency situation when there is NO electricity or hook-ups. The panel itself is very light and made of good quality and folds up nice and small. I recommend using this solar panel with the Tekkeon MyPowerAll 3450 battery (to store all your power) and make sure to also buy the Tekkeon Sunbooster adapter for the battery pack which allows the solar panel to charge the battery much faster and efficiently. Great product!

I have the Sunlinq 12W, plus a 12V power stabiliser, and a cheap 12V charger for the NP-FH50 accus (used by my Sony HX1 photo camera).

Initial tests at home showed that the charger was active only if the sun was extremely powerful and the angle close to 90 deg. With not enough sun, not only the amps are lower, but also the voltage, so I had to add the extra 12V stabiliser to bring voltage back to charger minimums.

Unfortunately, even with the stabiliser, with not enough sun, charging takes forever.

I tried to use the panel last year, in a one month trekking trip in Nepal, at high altitudes (3000-6000m), with clear skies, and all I could charge was my GPS.

For charging the camera accus, I had to borrow the bigger brother of this panel, the Sunlinq 25W, from a friend.

Conclusions:

12W are probably the maximum power, with extremely bright sun; in real conditions the power might be significantly lower

the charger characteristics are of great importance; if it is a cheap auto model, it'll probably stop working at about 11V you need an extra stabiliser

for real applications I would recommend the bigger Sunlinq 25W

I guess with such a low price you can't expect much. This charger, although it says it's for the DMC-ZS5, has only two prongs instead of three, and the battery falls out of it very easily. I didn't even attempt to charge battery because it appeared to be wrong and I didn't want to damage it. The seller was great though and refunded my money. I wouldn't recommend this item. It would be better to just buy the "real" one from Panasonic.

Since we dry camp a lot, I wanted to save on power usage by replacing all regular lights with LEDs. Much to my surprise the cost was higher than buying panel and a controller kit from Go Power. The kit cam complete with all the wiring, mounting brackets and connectors to make the installation a breeze. The biggest decision was where to place the panels and here again, using the box as a placement jig helped the laying of the panels on the roof. It took a better part of and afternoon to complete the install.

Had this for a year now maybe a little more but still giving charge and holds up as an original manufactured charger should.

I originally bought a $5 cheap charger and it broke very quickly. I should have just bought this one first. It is built much better. The only thing I don't like is the cord. It is a little stiff which reduces the effective length of the cord. If someone is using the phone in the back seat it will sometimes be unplugged from the outlet. I would prefer a straight cord over the springy cord.

The charger is definitely an OEM charger, and you get the benefits of a quality build. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't quite fit the cigarette lighter in my 2006 Jetta well. You have to ensure it's firmly in the socket to get the charging to start, and road vibration can sometimes interfere with that connection. I think its' either due to the lengh of the male connector, or the width of the spring clips on the site, so it could just be the one I received.

I also bought two of these--one for my car and one for my husband's car. One stopped working within a few days. The second one only works about half of the time. It will start charging and I'll think it's okay, but when I go to unplug it there has been very little charging!! Other times it doesn't even respond. It is very flimsy and poorly made. The part that plugs into your phone is wobbly and looks like it's going to fall off any second!! I'm going to toss them both in the trash. I ended up buying a universal one that caught my eye at the checkstand at Target for around $7. At least at Target I have 90 days to take it back if it turns out to be a piece of junk, but so far the Target one has been great.

I would avoid AeroVironment's charging station. I have one and my charging station is 11 months old now; it fails about once a week, sometimes more often. By "fails" I mean vehicle charging stops and the trouble light illuminates. The charging station trouble light can only be reset manually by cutting off the circuit breaker to the unit (hopefully you've installed one near the charging station, otherwise you'll have to go to the panel box). This is annoying when this happens during overnight charging cycles and the vehicle doesn't get charged. Big unpleasant surprise in the morning. Despite repeated calls to AV and promises from them, nothing has been resolved to date.

I know others have had good luck...that hasn't been my experience. And, my charging station was professionally installed through the vehicle manufacturer's ordering website.

serial number (necessary for warranty work) is located on a label affixed to the bottom of the unit, and is printed in a font requiring a scanning electron microscope to read.

I've had this product installed in my garage for 14 months and have had no problem with it. It interfaces perfectly with the timer on my Leaf to insure that I charge during off-off-peak hours without fail. I'm confident every morning that I will be on my way with a full charge.

This charger is well made of high quality component parts, but it's grossly overpriced. If the ultimate goal here is to have legions of EV's out there then critical accessories such as this charger (must have item for any EV owner) must cost much less than I had to pay here ($1,100 incl. shipping), and the unit must be professionally installed (could easily cost another grand). In my own case, I'm an electronics engineer, I installed this myself, and configured it so it is portable. Taking it with you is necessary, there are not enough stations out there yet. And as I say, it's too damn expensive, could really be had for much less (hello any capitalist business types out there especially green ones!). Ultimately, this is a very well made, quality and very EXPENSIVE product, delivered in good condition and in a timely fashion, by those good folks out there at AMAZON. If you are trying to support the Tesla, don't buy this product!

You can save about $1000 buy getting the NEMA 14-50 dryer socket ($20) instead. (Made by many vendors.)

This is the same socket you find in RV-parks.

This product is a glorified extension cord. The Telsa cars come with their own cord.

If you do buy this product, be sure to make the electrician install it using the NEMA 14-50 plug and socket.

It is not clear to me why auto companies want to make it so difficult to plug in, and require a "charger".

My electrician was able to install this charger very easily. The cord is quite long so accommodates my driveway with tandem parking. I use it to charge my Chevy Volt. It was a lot cheaper than the cheap GE product that Chevy referred me to after getting my own installation. If you have a washer/dryer nearby then it will be easy to access the 240V. Very happy and it also is fully sealed in the rain. Highly recommended.

I bought this hoping to power some low wattage lights and other low power equipment only to find that it does not even have a polarized plug! Who the heck puts a three prong grounded outlet on anything with a plug that is not polarized. I wish I had never purchased this item as almost all of my equipment has polarized plugs. I ended up going to the local electronics store and looking for one and sure enough there was not an inverter in the store that did not have a polarized outlet on it. I hope I can save a few others from making the same mistake I did by posting this review!

It does not have a polarized plug, it gets warm when working, and it is not 240 watts unless you count all the heat it puts out, and I would not recommend using it unless you are close by just in case it catches on fire.

I do use it with several new and old devices with non polarized plugs such as my AC cell phone chargers, my 50 year old lamp, and hard wired to many AC devices in my lab.

I am happy with my purchase, and 2 years later it still works and has never set anything on fire yet, but I paid $16 with free shipping in 2010, and it's not worth much more.

Overall I am happy with the purchase, and the product works well. That being said, there are a few things that I found slightly annoying. It does not have an on/off switch, just a cord to plug in, and it is louder than I would like, however I probably have unreasonable expectations. I charged a large car battery from 6V to full charge overnight on the fast charge setting, the cables that run to the battery terminals got hot to the touch for the first couple hours of charging which made me a little concerned. I also noticed that power cord seems a little short, if you aren't parked within about 6 ft of an outlet, you might want to think about getting a nice heavy gauge extension cord. It is manufactured in Mexico which is a step up from China, The overall quality is reasonable, and you get a lot of features for $60. I am happy with it in spite of the small nit picky things I listed, they were just things that surprised me a little.

Yes, it charges batteries. Would I buy another one? Probably not. While the packaging proclaimed a 15 amp charging current, reading through the manual reveals that it will not charge at 15 amps at a 100% duty cycle for long enough to charge a car battery. It does fine charging group 27 marine batteries overnight, but chokes trying to charge a 27 sized car battery. The leads and connectors get warm to the touch, and the unit shut itself off a couple times while charging the car battery. I assume this is due to the car battery's lower internal resistance compared to the marine battery. When charging, the screen will read "6" or "12" instead of showing the actual voltage. Finally, the indicator lights are very dim. They are so dim as to be nearly impossible to see outdoors even when shaded. Two and a half stars.

This is the charger that walmart carries, and I would go another route for a qaulity charger. The one review about the % of charge not being accurate is dead on. It starts to update, then stops, then you stop it and start it again and its 95% full charge. Then is doesn't update, check it again in an hour and its 89%. It will charge your battery, just you have no idea when it is fully charged. I returned the first one that I got bc it didn't update at all, no this next one i have does only some of the time, and it is never accurate. Go another route and avoid the frustration. Will keep this updated when i get a new one.

Don't listen to the negative reviewers.. This is a good charger. I have used it many times since buying it and it works great. In fact, I had originally bought one from a box store for myself, so this review is actually about that one BUT I ordered this one for a present for someone since mine worked so good. You need a charger.. this one works good.. Have used the rabbit setting a lot and the start engine several times. Has always worked.. Yes the lights could and should be brighter on the settings panel.. Just hold your hand over them and you can see them.. Thats the only con for me.. But it's no deal breaker. The charger does what it should.

I've been using this charger for a few months now. I use it to maintain an Optima Yellow Top AGM battery on my race car (no alternator), a standard car battery on my trailer (winch) and have used it to charge my 12v lawnmower battery. All have had no issues charging. I don't typically use "fast charge" unless I absolutely need to and just use the turtle charge for day to day charging. The race car battery is charged weekly.

The selector lights are dim and I do have problems with them in sunlight or any relatively bright room. I just cup my hand over it until I can see it.

Also someone mentioned there is no "off" function. You have to keep pressing the selector button. After the last one, "crank" mode, it turns it off and shows OFF on the display.

As far as the percentages of charge I have not had really any issues with accuracy. I guess if you want a dead on accurate battery charger there are some that are $200 I'm sure. When my lawn mower battery was dead it showed a charge of 13%. I charged it up to about 60% and the mower would crank and run. I have not had any issues with it showing 100% charge and going into "trickle" mode.

I purchased this as a birthday gift for my BF, and it didn't last long at all. And month of solid use and it needs to be replaced??? Forreal? I have a similar cradle charger for my Evo, and he used to always eyeball it, so I thought I would get him one. Should have bypassed the cheaply made product. Not worth $2.

I thought you would be able to place the phone into the cradle, and it would act as any dock, but it doesn't. You have to place the phone into the dock and pull up this ugly cord and manually plug it into the phone. Uuumm, really? Of course this cord no longer works....

Now all he uses it for is to charge his extra batteries.

I love this item!! The only problem I find with it is that you can't have a cover on your phone while its in the cradle. I just plug it in and sit it on the table to charge if I have a cover on.

The best reason to buy this is if you want to charge a spare batterry. You still have to plug the usb connector into your phone every time you want to charge your phone. The led lights are a little bright to have on a nightstand.
