New model!Dual lens HD 720P Car Cam IR LED G sensor Video Camera Recorder Camcorder DVR

New model!Dual lens HD 720P Car Cam IR LED G sensor Video Camera Recorder Camcorder DVRWithin a couple of minutes, I had this camera installed and ready to use. It powers on when I turn on the car because it's plugged into an ignition-controlled power port, and powers off a few seconds after I shut it off.

The video quality is good and it has a wide field of view. The audio recording is good too.

I have not connected the second camera yet.

There are options to control how long each video segment is before it rolls over to the next. I have it set to 1 minute.

I uploaded an unedited, raw video file, and if my review allows me to post links, it is here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/8957547/dashcamdemo.mov

I recommend this camera for anyone looking for an affordable dash cam.

Very easy to setup, mine came already with the English language selected. The video is very clear

Audio is not bad either. I put a 32gb micro SD card in mine. After having it in my car far only a few days , I

Was in a small accident. A car backed up into me, all captured on video. For the price of $70 delivered, I don't

Think you can beat this little unit.... It is about the size of a deck of cards, and sits right behind my rear

View mirror perfectly. I am very impressed.

This is my first Dash cam. I have had this cam about 1 month. During the daytime it takes excellent video, Able to read road signs and make out license plates. It has a nice wide range. At night the video is not the best, but you can tell what color lights are and even make out a license plate if they are stopped in front of you. Overall at night it is fairly good. I had more issues in those in-between times. when the sun is just rising or setting. Video would come out dark. Granted this was on the "auto" setting for light control. So I still have a few settings to play with. I will say that unless you have your music turned down low it records it.... it sounds like distorted in a box. I did step out of my vehicle and talked with window down, It picked my voice up and was pretty clear, Apparently it just does not like loud noise. I am using this memory card with it, Works great with plenty of room for videos, think I had 256 videos when i checked. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009QZH7BU/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1

Have used the extra camera that comes with it, just to see how it works. Video quality is just a little less than the main camera, but still very viewable. Has a long cord so that should not be a problem for mounting on most cars.

Great little dash cam for the price, that so far has held up to the Louisiana Heat with windows rolled up all day.

I would recommend to anyone wanting a good camera that is on a budget! :)

I've owned this car cam for a few weeks now, but today was the first time I bothered watching the recorded video. Something is wrong, but I'm not sure what. It appears that the video freezes after 5-seconds of recording, and stays frozen for 14-seconds, then starts recording again for 5-seconds. It continually does this. The audio records consistently despite the video freezing. I think it may be the rear-view camera causing the problem. Maybe the cam can't handle recording both cams at the same time. I can live without the rear-view cam, but the cam freezing is unacceptable. I can't recommend this car cam.

The device comes in a compact package and the wires are plenty long. The pair of cameras is a great idea, if only they worked.

The front camera has good quality during the day, but at night, it's worthless. You can see headlights and traffic lights, but that's about it. My phone has better night quality than that. Oddly enough, the back camera has lower resolution, but (when it works) it is pretty good at night. You can actually see objects that aren't light sources, like for example you can see people or parked cars on a dimly lit street with the back camera but not the front one.

The back camera doesn't work most of the time. It simply shows up as black or black+white lines. Then it'll randomly start working. Then it'll cut out again. The probability of it working at any given moment is about 50/50. I didn't buy a dashcam to play games... it needs to work.

The best part is that old files don't get erased. I don't have any video of the last 3 days of driving because my 16 GB card filled up and this camera doesn't erase old files. Excellent.

Pioneer Inno Portable XM2go Radio with MP3 Player

Pioneer Inno Portable XM2go Radio with MP3 Player
  • Plays live XM radio content wherever you roam
  • TuneSelect alerts you when favorites are being played on XM
  • Also plays MP3s and WMA files from your personal library
  • Full-color, 180 x 180 TFT display
  • Holds up to 50 hours of content

I've been an XM subscriber since my first SkyFi when Opie and Anthony started in October 2004. I added a MyFi when those launched and appreciated its features (ability to store songs, built-in FM modulator, auto on/off in the car, more presets for all the great music channels), but found its on-the-hip portability sketchy.

I purchased an Inno a few weeks ago and am blown away by the improved portability over my MyFi.

1. The reception is better--I can even get a signal in the gym (lots of windows, granted, but the old MyFi reception broke up too much for usefulness indoors).

2.The styling is sleeker. This thing is less than half the size of the old MyFi--about the size of my cellphone.

3. The store-on-the-go/auto-recording features are great. I've been recording Bob Dylan's theme time radio hour when they air it during the night so I've got it the next AM. Only fluke is that recording labels are not always EXACTLY the start and finish of each song. Sometimes you get a second or two of the song before/after.

The negatives that keep it from getting 4 stars--I miss the preset buttons from the MyFi. I had 30 presets, so could always find the right music/comedy/news/etc. for the moment. The Inno doesn't have any presets (unless I've missed something). The XM/Napster software doesn't work on the Mac, which is frustrating. Also, I'd ordered a car kit and still haven't received it.

In the end, though, this little radio is a HUGE step forward.

Buy Pioneer Inno Portable XM2go Radio with MP3 Player Now

I've been an XM subscriber since just about the beginning. I've also had a number of different units, including the XM2go MyFi. I got sucked in by the hype, and bought one of these new Pioneer Inno units expecting the portability feature to be much improved over the XM2go MyFi. It wasn't! Reception is very erratic--you turn one way and lose the signal--turn another way and it starts receiving again--just like the XM2go MyFi. I suspect those reporting good reception are better served by terrestrial repeaters than I am.

What does improve reception considerably is the headphone/antenna accessory. So, plan to spend the extra $40 or $50 bucks if you want to listen while taking a walk. At one time I think this same (or a similar) accessory was available for the XM2go MyFi, but it sold out quickly and never seemed to reappear. Anyway, without it, the Inno is a very frustrating unit.

The Inno is much smaller than the XM2go MyFi, and I like that a lot. The screen is much more readable, even in sunlight, so that's a plus too. I don't know yet what the battery life will turn out to be, but so far it seems to be reasonable. The menu process for selecting different options isn't all that intuitive, so you will probably fumble around a good bit getting to the menu item you want.

All in all, I would strongly recommend that you "test drive" one of these gizmos before buying, if at all possible. They aren't cheap, and you may not feel you are getting your money's worth. The headset/antenna accessory is a "must".

I wish to address the reception issues with this radio.

I just don't understand some of these negative reviews. A portable satellite radio is just that: a satellite radio that's portable. Satellite means it must have an open, unobtructed access to the southwestern sky. Try blocking a Direct TV dish and see what you get on TV.

That said, I live out in the country. If you place the Inno out in the open on a table (Therefore it is portable), it has excellent reception, just like a dish. However, if you put it on your side and you turn so that your body is blocking the southwestern sky, you will lose your signal (This may be different in a city with satellite repeaters). That's why they make a headset that has a built-in antenna (it's always exposed). Unless you are by a very large structure that obliterates the signal, it works great. Why, it's not included, must be due to price point. I would have included it rather than risk disillusioning some people with an otherwise great product.

I have a built-in XM radio in my truck. I bought the car kit for my inno and placed it in my mini-van. The reception is every bit as good as the one GM factory installed.

The home kit also works flawlessly. It's hooked into my surround sound and the reception and quality of sound is exceptional. Again, the antenna must have an open view to the southwestern sky.

If you want to use the Inno for jogging or walking, you must buy the optional headset -at least, it's a necessity out in the country.

If you really want to be happy with the Inno, you are going to have to purchase your satisfaction up front -that means buy now the accessories that will allow it to perform like you want.

If you do, I'm sure you will agree -the Pioneer Inno is a great satellite radio.

Want Pioneer Inno Portable XM2go Radio with MP3 Player Discount?

I've used my Inno for a whole 48 hours, and can confidently say that THIS is THE revolution in personal music that I've been waiting for. The variety and quality of XM channels has matured, and the sheer breadth of choices is intoxicating. This unit makes a great way to listen at home, work, outside, and discover new music you haven't heard yet/before. If you want to hear more from the artist, or hear the song from the beginning, you can bookmark the artist or the song, and the player will alert you if they appear again, on ANY XM channel, while you're listening. So you can discover, replay, and enjoy new talent about as easy as microwaving a bag of popcorn.

This player (and the Samsung Helix, essentially the same player in a different casing) allow you to record songs or whole channels while listening -EVEN IF YOU'RE HALFWAY THROUGH THE SONG. Yes, if you're at the end of a song and think, "I want to listen to that again later" (or "I want to play that for my girlfriend"), hit the record feature. With most of the 1 GB memory available for a half and half split of your own MP3s/WMAs, and saved XM content, you can also configure the unit to use all the storage for XM content -allegedly up to roughly 50 hours of material. This is handy if you schedule it to record a favorite program (like, say, Sound Opinions, The Story, or This American Life on the XM Public Radio channel).

Though you might prefer having a dedicated antenna for one's home hi-fi (thereby utilizing the receiver's integrated display and preset functions), this will integrate fine with one of these or these (the supplied cable is laughably cheap). Be warned that the crisp, bright display is rather small to see and use across a living room. See my pros and cons below, and by all means read the caveats and visit if you're unfamiliar with their terms and offerings.

PROS

-Exposure to so much music an all-you-can-eat buffet of artists and songs

-Ability to keep a song you like (hit record at any time in the song, the whole song is recorded to My Music)

-Ability to watch for an artist (or a song) that you like, on ANY channel (TuneSelect)

-Ability to schedule recordings

-Favorites and channel browse mode display channel ID, Artist, or Song, so you can see what's playing on any channel right now

-After loading personal music from PC, Inno scans and indexes all music, .M3U play lists, and even examines meta-data within MP3s and WMAs

-"Antenna aiming" feature allows positioning of home antenna as well as radio on-the-go

-Bright, clear display

-Display backlight stays on when docked, even if set to extinguish (adjustable timeout) when operating on battery

-Spiffy, gun metal metallized casing

-Despite what docs say, the USB connection works with Linux (tested with RHEL5)

-Very easy to build playlists; you can browse/find music based on Artist, Genre, Channel (XM), Title

CONS

-Tricky interface takes practice to learn the shortcuts (favs vs. category browse vs. all)

-Headphone port is recessed, slightly curved, so some plugs (e.g. Bose Triport) can slip out resulting in impeded audio; examining the supplied ear buds shows that the port needs a very narrow shoulder on the headphone plugs

-Supplied ear buds are barely adequate.

-Interference during walking, or holding

-Discreet beep from unit on TuneSelect match can't be heard with headphones on, or from across the room.

-Scheduled recording can't be set for recurring schedule (e.g. Sunday 4 AM)

-Belt case isn't too great; might have to use this or look for iPod or cell phone cases that you like better (similar size)

-Mini-to-RCA home hi-fi cable is so cheap as to be disposable (get a better, longer Monster, AR or Belkin cable)

-No Bluetooth HDA profile capability (would almost elminate the complaint about the headphone port)

-No travel charger sold separately, so you have to disconnect from the dock to take with you (not easy if you've integrated the dock with your home hi-fi) ... or buy an additional home dock kit :(

CAVEATS

-$14.95 activation fee per radio, but $9.95 if done online

-Subscription to XM service required.

-Interference experienced during recording is incorporated in the saved version

-If you change channels, recording a song you just landed on mid-tune only records from that point on (you have to be on the channel at the beginning of the song for it all to cache)

-Some rebates available in 2007, but stipulate "participating retailers," which may or may not include your reseller

-Home dock antenna needs to be positioned carefully for adequate reception

_______________

2009 UPDATE:

I've now used this for years, installed Delphi XM Signal Repeater with an extra antenna in my house, and have happily enjoyed XM in the living room, bedroom, and study (additional home docks and adapters were needed). Arguing with XM sales representatives to get a "secret" $77/year prepaid subscription rate robbed me 30 mins or more of my time each year, but then didn't have to worry about changes in their price structure. (Earlier this year they ceased the free online streaming service, making it a "value add" service for an additional monthly fee.)

After the Sirius merger, some of my favorite channels were removed in favor of Sirius content. This year I'm discontinuing my XM membership, and I and several colleagues have discovered their secret to customer retention: they won't let you cancel. In 3 separate cases, they have continued to "transfer" the customer to "the department that handles cancellation" and left the customer on hold for as long as 26 minutes. Yes, 26 MINUTES ON HOLD WAITING FOR A REP. When, in my case, a third rep stated, "I have to transfer you to that department," I told the rep that the call was being recorded, and three separate reps had heard me request my subscription to expire -refusal to comply would entitle me legally to receive the service for free. Within 30 seconds, the same rep accomplished the cancellation.

Another friend found a shorter route to terminating service -simply tell the first rep that you've sold your radio and wish to let your subscription expire normally. They can't argue with that.

_______________

2010 UPDATE:

A very strong caveat about this device only became clear after I'd let my XM-Sirius subscription expire over the holiday season. I kept using the INNO as a 512MB podcast carrier for my commute to work. Only one problem...! After you haven't had a subscription for the radio, it starts complaining on power-on that it has to be tuned "to live XM for 10 minutes to confirm valid subscription." That hasn't kept me from listening to MP3 podcasts that I sync to the unit with Media Monkey 3.5. But in the last week, the INNO now refuses to return to the last playlist or song being listened to, but asserts "Scanning files..." then plays the first track it finds. This is really conspicuous annoy-ware meant to cripple the INNO's functionality for an owner who isn't currently subscribed to XM. Naturally, this device is meant primarily to be used as an XM radio, but the degradation of usability when your account expires is uncalled for.

I WON'T be buying a newer version of this device.

Disclosure: my radio is on firmware version 2.11.

I have to say, I LOVE my Inno! It's like an iPod, except it's got an infinite amount of music in it. Not all of it will be available in its hard drive because it's only 1 G big (or about 50 hours of saved music), but it's certainly available to me when I listen to any of the 170+ channels that are available through XM while I'm on the go. When I think about it that way, then that 1 G hard drive isn't so puny anymore, considering what I actually get when I have live satellite radio streaming into my player. It's actually BETTER than an iPod because I can get live satellite radio content on the go, then record on the fly when I hear something I like. I can make and edit my own playlists on the fly, too. Can't do that with an iPod (or other iPod-like devices for XM or Sirius that are available now). And then there are the advantages to having satellite radio in general. With XM, I get superior sound quality, compared to AM/FM stations--the music I listen to sounds as good as the AAC's/mp4's I have on my iPod. Four of the 170+ channels get commercials, but the rest don't--so if you really can't stand listening to commercials, then you've got plenty of alternative channels to listen to instead. XM's playlists also tend to be very deep. With XM's Broadway channel, especially, I've noticed that--they don't just play the most famous songs from the shows that are most famous on Broadway right now. They play such a wide variety of material, so I'm never disappointed when I tune into that channel. I'll always find something new. And that goes for the other channels that I love listening to on XM, too--the pop/hits channels, the "decades" channels for the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's, and the jazz channels. It's a real treat, turning on my Inno every day. It's like an adventure--either I find new things to listen to, or I end up hearing great songs that haven't played on the regular radio in years and years, if ever. It's really great. :D

I have a few suggestions, though:

1) If you have any friends or family who have an Inno already, see if you can use it yourself and see how well it works for you, particularly in terms of getting a reliable signal. Or go to an actual brick-and-mortar store and try the Inno out first, even if you intend to buy it from Amazon. XM's been pretty good at ensuring that people get a good, reliable signal anywhere in the country, but it sure doesn't hurt to make sure that you'll get a good signal on your own, anyway. You don't want to pony up $200+ for a great device that turns out to be very useless because you can't get a signal, then go through the hassle of sending it back.

2) You'll also want to buy a pair of antenna headphones from Belkin that are made for the Inno. If you look for accessories for the Inno here at Amazon, you should be able to find them. The packaging says that they're for outdoor use, but they're good for indoor use, too. These headphones are about $40 but can be cheaper if you look around first. They might be a bit uncomfortable at first--they do hurt the ears just a little--but after about a week or so of using them, they should become more comfortable.

3) Finally, as soon as you get your Inno and you're done admiring your Inno's full-color screen, you're going to want to set your backlight so it turns off in 15 seconds and the Inno itself sleeps after 15 minutes of inactivity. If you don't do that, your Inno's going to be running out of energy pretty quickly.

Enjoy your Inno! :)

Cellet Retractable Plug In Car Charger for Apple iPhone 3 3GS 4 4S, iPod Touch, Nano, (Made for iP

Cellet Retractable Plug In Car Charger for Apple iPhone 3 3GS 4 4S, iPod Touch, Nano, I find some buyer's negative comments are just a bit humorous. To the person who said it wouldn't disconnect from their iPhone just squeeze the sides. It clicks in to keep it in place, it releases with a gentle squeeze of the sides. To the person who says they can't tell which side is up Cellet puts their logo in bold white-on-black on the "up" side (as contrasted to Apple's barely visible gray icon). To the person who says it won't retract just push the button.

I use this on an Apple 4S and it gets the job done quickly, costs next to nothing and stores neatly 'nuff said.

At 6 bucks, this cheap piece of crap has outlasted the expensive ($40+) pieces of crap I've previously bought at ATT stores. Thumbs up from me.

This car charger works great to charge my iPhone 4S. The retractable cord is very convenient for storage in the glove compartment. It seems to charge just as fast as plugging into the wall which is unusual for car chargers. The only small issue is that there is no icon on the face of the connector to tell you which direction is facing up so you have to align the teeth to see which direction to plug in.

This charger is amazing! It's packaging is simple, it arrived on time, and most importantly it works. Now I can listen to music with my iPod, while charging it in my Honda civic. I deliver pizza's, and I have to say it makes my life much easier. I use it everyday, and no mater how badly I treat it, it doesn't break. This product is amazingly durable. I would recommend anyone reading this to buy this if you need a iPod charger for your car that you need to use a lot. Because it retracts it will fit in any position comfortably without getting in the way 100/10 best buy in months!

Update: I have had this now for 8 months. It is the best charger I have ever owned. This thing goes through hell, I beat the hell out of it and use it several hours a day (I deliver pizzas). Seriously, if you have any ipod and need a charger, this thing is it. This was my first purchase on Amazon, and definitely one of my best.

I purchased 2 of these, one for my husband & one for my father. Both like that there isn't a cord they have to deal with. My husband has an Otterbox & hasn't had any problems with this charger fitting with the case on. I had purchased him another more expensive charger & he broke that one in a week. This one he's been using over a month & hasn't broken it yet. I'm thinking of ordering another for my truck so I don't have a cord to deal with either. Very fast shipping also.

Motorola V170, V171 Vehicle Power Charger

Motorola V170, V171 Vehicle Power ChargerThis is a vehicle power charger FOR a Motorola V170, V171 phone, but it's not a Motorola product. More importantly, the charging tip is different from the real thing. This charger has one charging zone of 6.3 volts whereas the Motorola charger has a two zone tip that delivers 2.6 volts in one zone and 6.3 volts in the other. The socket in the V170 is made for two seperate circuits which seem to need different voltages. This charger fits into the socket, but delivers the same voltage to both circuits in the phone. Does it work? I'm not going to risk trying it.

The charger works well and was easy to order

VCAN Blinc 136 Gloss Black X-Large Full Face Helmet with Ace of Spades Graphics

VCAN Blinc 136 Gloss Black X-Large Full Face Helmet with Ace of Spades GraphicsBought this one for the wife in conjunction with one for myself. These were bluetooth 1.0 helmets that were reconfigured with bluetooth 2.0 hardware. They connect very easily to my EVO, streams audio and phone work as desired, especially as it relates to low speed usage.

Okay, she constantly complains she cannot hear...ONLY ONE SPEAKER! I have one exactly like this and I concur, the single speaker blows. They connect easily, although they function identically, the bluetooth hardware is different. They connected and work as specified, but after say 25 Mph the sound is not loud enough. It is easy enough for her to operate, she is a bit slow technologically speaking, but it gets annoying when she cannot hear me....or is that a good thing...lol

It functions well as a helmet, she states it is comfy too. The environmental noise is not too bad either.

Modular is a better option. I just received a modular helmet today, it has stereo bluetooth speakers (TWO SPEAKERS!), functions are again, identical. The same hardware as my other vcan bluetooth helmet but sound quality with two speakers is HUGE Improvement.

-IBuyAlot

Me and my girldfriend bought this Vcan bluetooth helment. Bluetooth is great, you can pair with other helmet of the same brand. It's great when you are driving slow, when you are driving fast all you have to do is to speak slowly.

Music is perfect all the time. Just adjust the volume.

Perfect Design I love it, it has a tiger and a ace.

But no complains, I've had it for 3 months now, and it works like a charm, haven't experienced any of the problems the other people are talking about, or maybe I'm just lucky.

Buy VCAN Blinc 136 Gloss Black X-Large Full Face Helmet with Ace of Spades Graphics Now

It's been a month to the day that I received my helmet. The first thing that I noticed was that the design on the helmet, which is more of a decal wasn't put on correctly. Secondly, trying to charge the battery for the bluetooth was pretty horrid since it seems like it has more of a short in it than anything. When it's plugged in, the light doesn't stay red. I have to readjust it and it takes a while to do that. Once I have adjusted it, I have to carefully sit it down. In the past month, the decal that's on the helmet is cracked all over. I'm not sure why, but I'm guessing it shrunk in the heat. The helmet only has two vents. While riding, it's OK. But most of your air flow will probably come from under the helmet. While sitting at a light, you're going to have to flip the lid every time because you won't be able to breathe. Lastly, the flip visor, over the past month, has started developing cracks in it. At first, it was a couple, then they started stretching from the sides to the front. I'm very disappointed in that. In hind sight, I wouldn't buy a VCAN helmet again.

The bluetooth is 2.0 and connected to my iPhone fine with stereo sound. There are two speakers, one over each ear. The sound quality was lacking until I turned my phone off of 'control loudness' for the music. At 60+ mph, I can still hear just fine. The same with mapping navigation. Don't expect to be able to hold a conversation though. The mic is horrible. You will not be able to talk while riding a Harley at even 10 mph unless you're yelling.

I know on other reviews people say that the helmet is "cheaply made". I took that as more from the standpoint of how it was assembled, in which case it wasn't assembled with any quality involved. However, with the cracks in the visor, I can only imagine what's going on in the black part which I cannot see through. Therefore, before something happens, I'm on the hunt for a different helmet.

Everything looked fine, even the little red light came on when I plugged it in. But when I connected anything to charge red light would go off and charging did not start.

A waste of time and effort.

Please don't waste yours.

Item appears in good condition. It has a small light which turns on when the charger is plugged into the car (and the car is running). It does NOT, however, charge my HP Veer 4G. I believe this is a problem related to the fact that the Veer is rather picky. Many people seem to have trouble getting a generic USB charger that works for their Veer. I will buy an official Palm charger since some reviewers for that one said it does charge their Veer phones.

The fact is that it will take too much effort to return this one. I'll keep it, hoping that one day it will be good for charging some other device.

Edit: 11/30/2012

I have found that it works well with my nook. So it seems I was right and it was just a problem with my phone being picky. I have revised my rating to be 4 stars instead of 3.

Blackberry 8310 8320 8330 Curve 8100 8110 8120 8130 Pearl Car Charger / Vehicle Charger

Blackberry 8310 8320 8330 Curve 8100 8110 8120 8130 Pearl Car Charger / Vehicle ChargerI needed a car charger and was thrilled to find one for such a cheap price but of course, "if it looks too good to be true, it probably is" and in this case it unfortunately was. This charger feel apart in my hands LITERALLY the first time I connected it to my blackberry pearl. The piece that connects to the phone dissembled right away before I was ever able to use it. I definitely do not recommend this product.

Bought a cell phone battery that, of course, died one week past their return/refund deadline. Refused to refund or replace even though the product is CLEARLY defective. This company is a ripoff and will never do business with them again. Consider yourself warned.

I bought this for a blackberry that I had. Most of the time it charged it, but sometimes it didn't. I don't know if this was the phones fault or the charger's, but it did irk me. My brother has a phone compatinle with it and it worked when his phone was connected.

This thing alternates socket time with my ipod transmitter, I'm not sure how I would live without it! It charges in about 2/3 the time my wall charger takes which is amazing for a $3 item. It's long enough to drive and talk on it, it hasnt wiggled the charging inlet loose yet and it does a great job charging. This is a definite buy!

2PCS BaoFeng UV-5R YELLOW COLOR 136-174/400-480 MHz Dual-Band DTMF CTCSS DCS FM Ham Two Way Radio + Free Earpiece USABottom line first: You get what you pay for. In an industry where a couple hundred will get you a decent radio, paying fifty for a little yellow one would lead one to expect it to be less than fully effective. I so expected and was very pleasantly surprised to find this little radio much better than my limited expectation. It is a little hard to learn how to program, but there are a number of good runthroughs on Youtube and a community of experienced fans all ready to help. With all that I was able to get the local repeaters loaded in and I got on the air for the first time with my fresh Tech License, and am now one of the guys. No Elmer yet, but I can recommend these fun little radios, with only the warning that it takes a bit of learning to get it fully up to speed.

Also if you are going to use the computer to program it, ignore the cheap cords and use a decent Kenwood one and you'll keep more hair.

HD Portable DVR with 2.5" TFT LCD Screen Vehicle Backup Car Cameras LCD 270° LSRotator - 6 IR LED

HD Portable DVR with 2.5' TFT LCD Screen Vehicle Backup Car Cameras LCD 270° LSRotator - 6 IR LED Camera Digital Video Recorder HD Car DVR Car Vehicle Road Black
  • Real 720 HD video recording; Rotatable 120 Wide angle len; IR day and night vision for recording; Records automatically after the car's power up
  • Audio Recording, Real-Time Recording; With the camera holder, you can fix it on the car dashboard or car windshield very easily
  • Video format: AVI; Repeat storage by section:2/5/15 minutes; Still JPEG Image Storage Format ; Record Resolution:1280 x 960 pixels/ 720 X 480 pixels/ 640 X 480 pixels
  • Support SD/MCC Cards up to 32 GB (SD Card Not Included); 6 LED's 120 degrees viewing angle; Battery source Built-in rechargeable Battery or 12/24V Car Charge
  • 2.5 inch TFT LCD Colorful Screen and USB Interface; Support Real Time & Date display on video; Light Frequency Set: 50HZ/60HZ

The day time recording is very good but night time recording is not good. The image does not rotate with camera so if you mount it atop your dashboard like I did with the screen on the top everything records upside down so when you put it on your computer you will have to use a video editing software to rotate the video right side up. I did not use the supplied windshield mount because I did not want to create a blind spot in my windshield.

This was a disappointment. Upon arrival I immediately noticed the LCD was cracked. While it was still view-able I wanted to see if it lived up to other expectations. It didn't. By now everyone should know the manual is a joke. Hardest part of the setup was learning that the "OK" button is actually the red record button. After that it was easy to set up all remaining options. Two big disappointments on the unit was that, when recording, the red record button is blinking red. While some may find it comforting to know it is actually recording, I want this to be invisible to me and my passengers until its needed. Second is the video quality. Perhaps this unit was bad due to the LCD damage but it was horribly out of focus. And it is most certainly not HD even if it was. I set the resolution to 720 and the picture was grainy. Amazon is awesome as well on the return.

I had purchased one of these cameras before for one of my cameras. It worked so well that I ordered another for the wifes car.

The instructions are confusing, but with a little experimenting you can set it up. True you cannot see things real plain, but for what you are paying for this camera it does the job. The nite vision is almost useless.

This dashboard camera works, but... not without issues. The user manual is very poor and I have not been able to get the camera to loop, write over past recordings. It says it reports the memory full with just 10 minutes of recording on a 2 gb card. This would work if it would loop and overwrite. I would tell you to look for a better unit. I will.

Not what I was looking for. When there is enough sunlight, the picture is decent. At night, the picture is as good as your headlights. The microphone pickup is fair at best. Easy to transfer video from the unit to computer. The operation manual is a direct translation from another language. Directions are vague for some things due to translation. I would not recommend it. I wanted one that would record at night too. This won't do that without external lights (street lights, buildings etc).

Garmin Car Charger Power Adapter Cord for Garmin Nuvi

  • Extended 9 ft Coiled cable (Most other aftermarket charger only offer a 3 to 5 ft coiled cable which might not even reach your device)
  • ChargerCity Manufacture Direct Warranty

The original car charger that Garmin supplies is terrible. It emitted a high pitched whine, constantly needed to be jiggled to maintain a connection in the 12VDC socket, and had a much too long uncoiled cord that got in the way all the time. This one works great and is neat thanks to its short coiled cord. I have two complaints: the blue power indicator LED is way too bright. At night I need to cover it up with something. WAY too bright. And the connector that plugs into the GPS unit should be at 90 degrees, not a straight 180 degrees. The straight connector will eventually weaken and break (this is my second replacement charger the first one lasted about a year and a half). But still the best one available and can't beat the price.

Buy Garmin Car Charger Power Adapter Cord for Garmin Nuvi Now

I purchased this as a replacement for the original Garmin cable which was lost. I thought it would be long enough as it says it's 8 feet long. That must be the length stretched out. The problem is that the coiled cable is only 2 feet long and very springy. The constant stretching to try to reach the windshield weakened the connector and the wire pulled out. So now I have to purchase another adapter. I don't recommend this product.

That original charger fell apart many times & we'd hunt all over the car for the pieces and screw it all back together. This is clearly of better quality even at first glance.

This works well. The best feature is the six foot cord. Very accommodating. I would not hesitate to buy this again.

This charger is well priced and although the quality is not perfect it is more than satisfactory. After a few weeks use the end became separated from the cord but was easily reattached and is now working properly.

Wagan 300 Amp Battery Jumper

Wagan 300 Amp Battery JumperMy husband is currently deployed, and I let his car sit too long and the battery died (oops). Well, we had been meaning to buy one of these for awhile now, because it's always good to have something like this and not have to rely on strangers. I decided that now was the perfect time to buy one. Especially since my husband's car was in the garage and I didn't feel like pushing it out in order to jump it.

The unit arrived in the mail and I plugged it into the wall and charged it for 24 hours. It notes that you shouldn't charge it for more than 48 hours, because it can get overcharged and break. It was neat to note that it has slots for plugging in other devices and even a USB port. I suppose in chase you lose power, you could use this to charge a cell phone or something. Also has a flash light on the front, which helps if you're needing to use this on the side of the road one night.

Well, I have never jump started a car before... never even seen someone do it. I read over the instructions, checked my vehicle's owners manual, just to make sure that my car battery was "negative grounded", and then attached the red positive cable to the positive part of the battery, and the black cable to a metal bolt on the car. It did spark when I attached the black cable, which was a little scary for me. The instructions said to leave attached for 3-4 minutes. I left it on for about 15, because my friend said that whenever she's used something like this, they'd leave it attached for maybe 30 minutes. So, after 15 minutes, I went to turn the car on, and voila! It started! I then disconnected the cables, negative first, then positive.

So, basically I love this thing. It's really quite small, about the size of a lunch box. It's comforting to know that I can keep this in the trunk of my car, and if I needed a jump, I could take care of it myself. Especially living in Washington state, driving between Spokane and Seattle, my husband and I find ourselves in the middle of nowhere with no cell phone reception quite frequently. What a life saver it is!

had this a little while now and today got to use the jumper on a friends truck and it worked perfectly. charged it up when i got it and played with the compressor and it worked fine. had not recharged it in about a month and used the jumper today, it worked good. i am satisfied with it. had several that were bigger than this one and they did not work as good.

Buy Wagan 300 Amp Battery Jumper Now

Needed to use jumper for the first time 6 months after I bought it. Went to put on positive clamp (made of plastic) and it broke in two at the hinge such that it could no longer clamp onto anything. Luckily I was at home and used a woodworking clamp to attach the jumper clamp to the battery. Car did start fine. It turned out my car had developed some type of power drain while the car was turned off, so I ended up using the jumper a few times like this before I was finally able to get the drain problem fixed. As long as I kept the jumper charged it did jump my battery just fine. 1 year warrany requires me to pay to ship unit back to manufacturer too much money considering the cost of the jumper. I originally bought the jumper for my boat in case I had a problem on the water. But as best I can tell from the pictures at their web site, it looks like all the similar Wagan jumpers all have plastic clamps. I can't afford to worry that my jumper might break again when I need it. I'm going to find a jumper with metal clamps.

I live on a college campus, so most everything is within walking distance for me. Add to that the fact that I'm a total shut-in, and that means my car can just sit there in the parking lot for weeks at a time. Not surprisingly, the battery is often dead.

I bought this gadget so that I can jump start my car, figuring the battery would get charged while I'm driving anyway. It works quite well. Lets me start my car two or maybe even three times before it gives out. But that's the thing: after three times you have to charge it again because it's already drained. I can still operate the electronics and lights on my car while it's hooked up, but it doesn't have the juice to actually jump start it.

You're probably better off getting one of the bigger models so that you have more than a few shots before you need to recharge. It takes about 30 hours to recharge fully according to the manual, so if you're out of juice, you're done for the day pretty much. I think that's just a general limitation of batteries and power sockets, and not the model itself, though. But it's just easier to charge once for say 60 hours and know that you have more than a couple shots.

Besides that, this unit is solidly built. I'm not afraid of accidentally breaking it. The jumper cables are very solid and long enough to easily reach the battery. The air compressor is a nice touch. When you're on the road, it's more likely you'll get a flat tire than have your car battery die. You can also charge USB devices through this, but it's hard to imagine when you'd need to.

All in all it's great, but you might want a bigger model if you have a bigger car. Mine's a Hyundai Elantra and this thing can barely jump start it (but it does it!).

Want Wagan 300 Amp Battery Jumper Discount?

Both my and my friend's car batteries died due to the cold this past week. Admittedly, we had both been gone for thanksgiving break and had not driven them in a week or so, so they were totally dead (not turning over at all). I got this off Amazon, and I figured it would do the trick. I charged it the full 48 hours, and put it on my car for 10-15 minutes and while the lights turned on and the radio did too, the car didn't come close to turning over. I tried multiple times to no avail. Same thing with my roommate we ended up having to jump it the old fashioned way.

So, I will say, if your car is turning over but not enough to catch, I think this charger will do the trick and giving you the extra juice to start it up. However, if your battery is completely dead (not turning over at all) this charger will not start your car.

Rubberized Retractable Car Charger for Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2

Rubberized Retractable Car Charger for Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2This product was a huge disappointment! I plugged this into my car and it seem like this charger was confusing my frequency and my radio started humming. In addition my phone did NOT charge and I didn't leave it on long enough to see if it would charge because I was afraid that it would damage my car electric outlet or my phone's frequency. The cord that pulls out is very thin almost like a rubber piece of yarn that can easily snap. This item MAY be cheap but NOT worth it... save your money. You get what you pay for and its worth paying a few extra dollars for a product that actually works.

PSI do have Sprint HTC Touch Pro 2 and I tired this item with this phone and someone else's STILL no luck. Not worth it!

AeroVironment Residential EV Charger, 25' cable (Level 2 EVSE-RS: 7.2kW, 30A)

AeroVironment Residential EV Charger, 25' cableI would avoid AeroVironment's charging station. I have one and my charging station is 11 months old now; it fails about once a week, sometimes more often. By "fails" I mean vehicle charging stops and the trouble light illuminates. The charging station trouble light can only be reset manually by cutting off the circuit breaker to the unit (hopefully you've installed one near the charging station, otherwise you'll have to go to the panel box). This is annoying when this happens during overnight charging cycles and the vehicle doesn't get charged. Big unpleasant surprise in the morning. Despite repeated calls to AV and promises from them, nothing has been resolved to date.

I know others have had good luck...that hasn't been my experience. And, my charging station was professionally installed through the vehicle manufacturer's ordering website.

PROS:

same unit used by vehicle manufacturer dealerships, at least in Central Ohio

AV was recommended by vehicle manufacturer's ordering website as preferred supplier

CONS:

unreliable, in my experience, as I described above

expensive vs. alternatives

serial number (necessary for warranty work) is located on a label affixed to the bottom of the unit, and is printed in a font requiring a scanning electron microscope to read.

I've had this product installed in my garage for 14 months and have had no problem with it. It interfaces perfectly with the timer on my Leaf to insure that I charge during off-off-peak hours without fail. I'm confident every morning that I will be on my way with a full charge.

Buy AeroVironment Residential EV Charger, 25' cable (Level 2 EVSE-RS: 7.2kW, 30A) Now

This charger is well made of high quality component parts, but it's grossly overpriced. If the ultimate goal here is to have legions of EV's out there then critical accessories such as this charger (must have item for any EV owner) must cost much less than I had to pay here ($1,100 incl. shipping), and the unit must be professionally installed (could easily cost another grand). In my own case, I'm an electronics engineer, I installed this myself, and configured it so it is portable. Taking it with you is necessary, there are not enough stations out there yet. And as I say, it's too damn expensive, could really be had for much less (hello any capitalist business types out there especially green ones!). Ultimately, this is a very well made, quality and very EXPENSIVE product, delivered in good condition and in a timely fashion, by those good folks out there at AMAZON. A pleasure to spend my money there, as always. JEFF

If you are trying to support the Tesla, don't buy this product!

You can save about $1000 buy getting the NEMA 14-50 dryer socket ($20) instead. (Made by many vendors.)

This is the same socket you find in RV-parks.

This product is a glorified extension cord. The Telsa cars come with their own cord.

If you do buy this product, be sure to make the electrician install it using the NEMA 14-50 plug and socket.

It is not clear to me why auto companies want to make it so difficult to plug in, and require a "charger".

My electrician was able to install this charger very easily. The cord is quite long so accommodates my driveway with tandem parking. I use it to charge my Chevy Volt. It was a lot cheaper than the cheap GE product that Chevy referred me to after getting my own installation. If you have a washer/dryer nearby then it will be easy to access the 240V. Very happy and it also is fully sealed in the rain. Highly recommended.
