it would be nice if they could add 2 features. #1: and indicator light to let you know that the units are actually charging when they are plugged in. #2: battery level display. I had to call the cust. service number b/c i thought my units weren't charging. When you turn the units on, the LOW BATTERY light shows up for a few seconds which made us think they were low. Come to find out, the little battery light will never show full power. It is just a 'low battery' indicator. A little more details in the instructions about those to things would have been helpful. Other than that, they are perfect for 2 kids (ages 9 and 7) to use while playing spies in the backyard.

These guy's do the job for casual usage. They are inexpensive enough to be considered practically throw aways. That's a good thing, in my case. Easy to use.

These things are great for what I have to do at my job. I work as a parking boy at a nearby picnic ground/waterslides, and I bought these so that I can communicate with the other parking boys when we are on the other side of the field. It has pretty good sound quality (one of them at least, the other one is getting a little raspy) and the transmission is good for about a half-mile in a city (anything more than that and the transmission will be a little choppy), but because my job only requires me to be at most 100 meters away from the other walkie talkie, this does not affect me.

When I took them out of the box, I was surprised on how small they were and I thought that they were kids toys, but I was proven wrong when they worked great as I tested them. A lot of people said that the charger does not work on them, but I have found no problems at all with charging them. All you need to do is plug the charger into the wall, and there will be a split in the cord so that you can charge both at once, you so open up the little plastic cap on the top of the walkie talkie and put one of the charging cords into it. MAKE SURE IT CLICKS IN! There is a little click when you put the cord in, so make sure it clicks or else it will not charge. This might be how the other people had problems with charging, maybe they did not push the charger into the walkie talkie all the way until it clicked.

EDIT: Oh, also the battery cap is a pain and a huge design flaw because once you take it out it is almost impossible to put back in, but I will tell you how. When you go to slide the cap back in, it will not slide regularly because the teeth are laying on the bottom when the holes for the teeth are slightly elevated, and since there is a very sturdy belt clip in the way, it is impossible to slide it regularly in. What you need to do is lift the side of the cap with the teeth forcefully up until they are aligned with the holes, and then push it in. Once you get the hang of this it is very easy to put the cap back on.

I like the smaller size of this radio. Battery life is fantastic, and reception is good, too. I live about 5 miles from the local regional airport, and 40 miles from New Orleans International airport. I can receive transmissions from MSY ATC even while inside my home. I only have two minor complaints. I wish the display were a bit larger, but it is quite legible. Just wish it displayed more info other than a single line. Very easy to use the basic functions of the radio. Have not tried to use the program option yet and my not need it. I am carrying it as a backup radio. My house is 4.5 miles from the airport and I can listen to ATIS and the tower from my bedroom. ATIS is a little scratchy with some static but it is understandable. Tower is pretty clear. Im sure in the air the range will be better. So far Im happy with it.

I fly a sport plane that, technically, does not require a radio, but I much prefer to communicate with traffic at the airport, and the Icom radios connect directly into my stock communication system, allowing me to use the PTT button mounted on the yoke and the external antenna, as well as working with my headsets, including passing my own voice from the microphone to the headset, confirming clarity in the broadcast. I can clearly hear traffic at other airports, as well, some of them almost 20 miles away. The only reasons I didn't give it that coveted 5th star are because the setup is not the least bit intuitive and the manual is of little help (there are some great YouTube videos that will help you sort it all out) and because there is no way to charge the unit without placing it in a charging cradle. This is fine for most people, and the cradle does allow you to charge the battery, whether or not it is mounted on the handset, but I would prefer to mount the radio in my plane and utilize the portable charger to power it. Aside from these admittedly minor issues, this is a solid unit and I really can't see going elsewhere for my radio needs.

Just as the previous reviewer, this is aftermarket junk! Not at already what I ordered. It is not detachable, not even a genuine Samsung product. I ordered this on the 26th and it did not arrive until today, the 5th. Hugely disappointed. Will be calling for a refund.

The ordering process went fine but the part that arrived was not the part pictured or described (Samsung Galaxy Tab Detachable Car Charger with USB to 30 Pin Data Cable (ECA-P10CBEGSTA)). The part number in the description is a genuine Samsung part number but the charger that arrived was an imitation. The cord was not removable, there was no brand name, just a sticker that read "compatible with Samsung." I contacted the seller for a refund and they promptly emailed a return label. I have sent the item back and am awaiting a refund, but truth in advertising would have avoided the return process. I am wondering if they are hoping recipients would not know the difference or care to go through the effort to return it. Since my contacting the seller I have noticed they have removed the part number from the description on the page however they still have pictured the genuine Samsung part which does not look like the part I received.

I bought 2 similar "cigarette lighter" to USB devices. Using the cable provided with my Nokia E73 "Mode" (T-Mobile) cell neither of them would charge the phone as their output somehow was "not right". I called Kingston and spoke to factory support and they assured me that it would work with my phone. IT DOES!! I would have given it 5 stars but the cigarette lighter adapter does not include the light shown in the photos. However, there is a little blue light on the mini to micro usb adapter. I admit I got pretty excited reading the very positive reviews on this product. I even went to their web site and read the instruction manual for this product. Every thing seemed really high quality with the web site, instructions and their "philosophy" on this product and their company. When I received the product I was impressed with the minimal packaging and the overall quality feel of the device. I was really excited.

I first charged the device via AC then proceeded to use it to charge up my iPhone 4. I would say it charged from empty to 100% and then ran out of juice. ...This is when the trouble began. I decided to try out the solar panel charger and left the device on my car dash for about one hour one sunny morning. The outside temperature was probably 80-85 F. When I came back after an hour, I was horrified to find that the case had warped pretty severely and the device was extremely hot (I think the battery inside was generating some heat). The top and bottom pieces are separating from the case and warped up and the front is slightly warped towards the solar panels....worst of all, NO charge on the battery. I then took it to work and left it for days near a window of my climate controlled office...no charging at all......I wish I could return this but I threw the box away so its a $70 lessons learned for me.

For something that is "designed" to be charged in the sun, they should have made the product more resilient to sunlight heat.

Buyer beware.

I find the Revolve xeMini to be very handy. I have a non-Apple phone and an iPod, and now I don't have to take two separate chargers around with me when I travel. The fact that it doubles as an emergency backup battery makes this infinitely more convenient than just bringing a charger along... Just keeping this thing charged and with me means my devices won't ever die at inconvenient times. The solar charging feature is a little added peace of mind for situations when plugging in isn't an option, or I just want to be a little "greener." I've seen some of the other reviews bashing the solar side of this, but I think they may have missed the point--solar charging is not the primary function, it is simply an added perk to be used along with wall charging as a little green boost. Considering the amount of energy it takes to charge a smartphone these days, you can't really expect a little solar panel to be the only source of power here.

The construction seems very solid to me... The review that said it warped in the car at 85 degrees probably didn't take into account the fact that the interior of a car heats up to a much higher temperature than the outside, meaning the temperature in the car was likely well above 100 degrees (the instruction manual specifies to avoid temperatures above 104).

I love the look of the unit, and appreciate that the packaging is made from recycled/recyclable materials (plus the company donates a portion of its profits to green causes every year). It's nice to see a company that actually seems to care about being as environmentally responsible as possible.

Okay, so I splurged and got this $70 solar/AC/USB charger. I thought it was a very good "concept" product, and it looked really solid. That is where this fantasy ends...

First of all, it's made in China. For $70, at least make the damn thing in USA.

The bamboo and plastic composite is a nice "green" "idea". Notice I say "idea" cause this plastic is BRITTLE. Meaning, I would hate to find out what would happen if I dropped it. When I opened the battery cover, the latch sheared off into the unit. Now I have a battery door that doesn't latch.

The solar charger is more of a nice emergency "gimmicK" than anything.

The 2200mah charged my 1400mah battery from 20% to full, and that was about it. FAIL!

The ONLY thing this has going for it, is that everything is compact and is one complete unit. As in, A/C charger, battery is all in one unit. The other solar chargers have to have an external AC charger.

LOOOOVE IT!!! I looked at all the portable chargers out there and finally decided to get the Revolve xeMini, mostly because of the battery power which is a 2200mah and the small compact pocket size... I couldn't find this on any other charger... Also the actual unit has a plug on the back that flips out and can be plugged directly into the wall without having another messy cable to deal with! Charged it up over nite and was able to charge my iPhone 4 two full times from 0% to 100% and it still had a little juice left (It literally charged my phone super fast as if it was plugged into the wall)... Therefore, Micro and Mini USB accessories are not interchangeable. Generally, the Micro USB is on newer phones. I bought this charger for my Droid X and for charging it works ok. Last weekend I used my Droid X to go to a friends house about an hour away, and used the GPS feature to get there. The GPS kept kicking off every few minutes. I didn't know why it was doing that, and did some research on it. On one of the Droid X forums, it says the reason that is happening is the charger output is too low. It seems that the GPS causes the Droid to use more power and this charger will not supply the proper power to charge the Droid X and use the GPS at the same time. It works great for simply charging the Droid X, but not to use it and charge it at the same time. The charging current is simply just too low. There is a much better solution. Get the Scosche reVIVE II Dual USB Car Charger for iPad, which has two settings. One is for 2.1 amps and the other is for 1 amp. Use it on the 1 amp setting for the Droid X. The other solution is to get a Belkin Micro USB Auto Charger 5VOLT 1A. It has a 1 amp output and is everything you need to use the Droid X and charge it at the same time while traveling. The Belkin solution is less money. Just plug the USB cord into the chargers and all is well.

Typical economic car charger. Wasn't thinking and pulled on the cord instead of the connector to unplug it. Wires slipped out of the connector and it was ruined. User error, I know, but good construction goes a long way with me. An extra bead of solder or hot glue in the connector's housing would make a world of difference.

So if you baby it and make sure you connect/disconnect it from your device while grasping the connector only, you're good to go. If you're constantly unplugging/plugging it in like I am when I get in or out of the car, buy the one they offer wherever you purchased the device.

I got the two pack and they seemed to work fine from the start but within two months, they seem to work at random times. I will plug it in and the phone shows charging then after about a minute its like the phone doesn't detect a charger. The car's port works fine. But when it DOES charge, it charges ok. Not very fast but it IS a car charger. DROID 2.

This is a good charger and it does work when you turn it a certain way in your car lighter. If you bump it a little it won't charge so you have to keep your eye on it and make sure the light stays on to let you know it's working

I had a hard time plugging this in to the car outlet...had to really jiggle and twist the upper part to get it to fit in properly and hold a charge (red light illuminates), but now it does what it is supposed to do with my LG Optimus Q, so hopefully the fit issues are resolved.

The cord was 18 inches shorter than the original which restricted use of the DVD players.

If we had known this, we would have looked for a longer one. We should have inquired about the length first, but did not think of that. We figured it would be the same as the one we had. It would be helpful if this information was included in the description before sales.

I bought this 8 months ago to replace the cord for our DVD player we use in the car. It still works and there have been no issues.

Great idea for mobile accessories, but this one works only about 1/2 the time you use it. You have to be sure that the plug is seated fully in the lighter. The retractible feature sometimes doesn't work and it won't retract. Overall quality is not great I wouldn't buy this one again.
