It charges my Treo 700w faster than the wall charger or my iGO universal adapter, but still has the following glaring problems:

1) Squeals loudly when in a charging state

2) Interferes with AM radio reception while charging

3) The connector quickly developed a problem with intermittent contact to the phone. Unless the phone is sitting at the right angle, contact is not made properly, and no charging occurs. this is annoying since the phone tends to bounce around a little in my truck, and I have to insert the phone upside down into my cup holder to maintain just the right angle with the charging cord.

All in all, I wish I'd spent more money on a better quality charger. The build quality of this unit seems good, but the performance is poor.

This device is not compatible with my Treo 700w and I had to return it.

What do you say? A charger either works or it doesn't. This one does. It would be nice if the cord was straight instead of coiled as the coils try to pull the connector out of the phone if you have them stretched.

Charging end would not seat securely in phone socket. Tip broke off within a month of purchase. I should know better by now.

Works as advertised, construction is solid, LED glows green or red, depending on charging status which is nice. Treo end of the cable was extremely tight initially, so tight I was actually concerned about pushing it in as hard as I did. However, it loosened up after two or three times.

The cord generates a tremendous amout of RF interference, to the point that AM radio stations cannot be heard depending on the station's strength. However, I'm listening to the radio less and less so its most likely not an issue. Interference was not detected on Ham 2M radio or commercial FM, just commercial AM.

Nice try but the Chatterbox unit is poorly engineered. 1st. the unit is only "Water Resistant", you should not ride in the rain with it or it may become damaged. After 3 months of use the battery life is about 5-6 hours then dies. Conditioning the battery does nothing. The full face helmet kit has a microphone that is huge and must be mounted directly in front of your mouth. On Shoie full face helmets it will actually hit you in the mouth. If an accident occured and the chin bar of the helmet gets hit, you'll probably loose your front teeth. In my opinion the design is dangerous. Also, there is no foam sound dampening material over the end of the microphone so above 20-30 MPH you get excessive wind noise. Save your money and buy a Scala Rider unit, it works much better and is waterproof. The sound quality when playing music is also poor and playing it using a bluetooth connection runs the battery down in about 1.0-1.5 hours. There are much better options out there, do your homework before purchasing a chatterbox.

Update , in June I purchased a Scala Rider G9 unit and couldn't be happier. The stero quality is very good. Battery life when playing music is ~ 8 hours. I have it paired with my Blackberry Blackberry Curve and have no problems with the blue tooth connection.

There are 2 issues that are pretty annoying: the first one is that every time you turn on the device automatically calls the last phone number dialed. This happens only if you the bluetooth is enabled in your phone, so be sure it is disabled when you turn on the device. The other one is that the music goes in and out while riding, sometimes very often. If you pair the device again it will go away, but after a couple of days it will come back. Another issue but not directly related to the device: it wont fit a BMW System 5 helmet. I had to unscrew the whole thing and do some magic adapt it to the helmet.

Lo que hay que hacer es encender el dispositivo con la función de bluetooth apagado. La otra es que la música se corta, algunas veces muy a menudo. La solución está en volver a hacerle el pairing al dispositivo, darle al teléfono olvidar y volver a sincronizarlos como la primera vez. Al inicio funciona perfecto pero después de unos días vuelve a lo mismo y hay que proceder con el pairing de nuevo. La forma en que viene diseñado no funciona con un casco System 5 BMW. El micrófono queda muy corto. Yo tuve que quitar los tornillos hacer algo de magia para poder acomodar todo dentro del casco sin generar ningún daño. Definitivamente no es lo que esperaba, sobre todo por su precio.

I only have two issues with this device. First, the battery life isn't amazing, especially when you leave it on the two way function. The second: every time I turn the device on, and it pairs with my iPhone, my phone will call the most recent person I called. Annoying. Other than that, I think they are great. My girlfriend and I can talk to each other when riding. Very useful when teaching her to ride a motorcycle.

Works pretty well. One quirk is every time you turn on automatically dials last phone number called. Music goes in and out while riding, but sound is pretty good when playing.

I use the chatterbox every single time i ride my bike. I love how i can listen to music while im cruising around,. I also love how the devise flashes red and blue, looks sweet at night and draws attention. It's a good side marker to be more visible.

Pro.. I can hear my music at 100mph, volume control is easy, battery life is excellent

Con.. I can't have a phone conversation over 40 mph. it's just too loud and inconvenient. Impractical for any kinda phone usage. Maybe if my passenger had one we could at least communicate.

Overall, i just wanted to use this to listen to my music while i ride. I don't talk on the phone that often, so that feature doesn't really bother me that it's not practical to talk on the phone while riding. I get that i am muffled sounding, and things like that. I have tried positioning mic in multiple areas.

It's ok though, i still love the chatterbox

I tried calling customer service a few times. Left a message, and haven't been able to find anyone who can help me. Poor customer service. I think this unit is outdated. I bought this so that I could charge my phone, power my GPS, and my Ipod (on my motorcycle). It appears to be cheaply made and not what I expected. For some reason, only my tire pump works. Neither my air pump (to inflate air mattress), nor my Ipod will charge with this...and the LED light does not function. For the price that I paid, I expected much, much more. I decided to purchase a different product (by Deltran) that is 1/2 the price of the Bikemaster unit. It is only 1 socket, but I can live with that. I just need something that will power ALL of my products. Deltran also sells a cigarette lighter plug with a USB input, so I can charge my Ipod this way. I would ask for a replacement, but don't have the receipt anymore, so I am out the money that I paid...So, if you need a power port for your motorcycle, I would rather pay 1/2 the price and have something that works and is better quality than to pay the amount I paid for the Bikemaster, with 3 power ports, a USB port,an LED light...that doesn't work. Sorry Bikemaster...you left me slightly disappointed. I give it 1 star because it powers one of the many items I tried...but they lost 4 out of the five stars for quality, a non-functional LED, non-functional USB, and pricing.

I just bought a motorcycle in summer 2011 (V Star 950T)...and I love to go camping. The main thing that I was looking for was a 12v/15amp cigarette style plug. This Bikemaster product fit the bill and is perfect for motorcyclists. While travelling, I can charge my phone, my Ipod, and keep my GPS operational...All at the same time! It has 3 cigarette style female ports, and 1 USB style port. When I get to the campsite, I can plug in my air pump to inflate my air mattress in about 3 minutes. In the case of a flat tire (haven't had one yet#, all I have to do is plug up the hole in the tire, and then I can plug in my tire inflator to the Bikemaster and re-inflate my tire. This is very compact #it will fit in the palm of your hand# and convenient. The best part is that it comes with a 15amp fuse so I know my items won't get damaged. I hardwired directly to my 12v battery with the included harness and left the SAE plug sticking out under my seat, so it is very unobtrusive.

By the way, the SAE plug is the same as the plug that my Battery Tender Jr. came with so when I get home, if necessary, I can use the harness to plug in my Battery Tender without having to remove the seat on my motorcycle. One more thing...The cord on the harness is long enough to plug into the battery, and the cord on the power port is only slightly longer #total of about 2ft#, but keep in mind that the product you will be plugging in has a cord too. My GPS cord is about 5ft long, my Air pump cords are about 6ft to 8ft long, and my Ipod cord is long enough to plug into this and fit in my jacket pocket. I can't think of why anyone would need a longer cable/cord than what already comes with this product, so it works perfect for my needs...I love it!!!

Scala Rider Car Charger CAR CHARGER

I know that companies make most of their profits by selling accessories but this should have been included in the $400 plus price point if the units. We made a 400 mile round trip Motorcycle ride and had the units on for 13 hours and the battery started to die even when we turned them off when we made gas and food stops.

I like the dual plugs to charge both units. Still should have been included in the package. That is why only 4 stars.

After misplacing my charger I thought my scala rider was useless! Glad I found the charger on here! wish they had a wall socket one though.

As a Vine reviewer I take this a bit serious. I am asked to review products and tell you the consumer what is and is not worthy of your hard earned dollars. I must admit I hoped this was going to be an excellent product. But its not and for the price point it is even more disconcerting. To start with understand what this is ...and most importantly isn't.

It is a usb charger. So it can if you have a cord that plugs from your device to this, charge your phone, zune, ipod, kindle, ect. It will replace the need to bring all those seprate chargers...but you still need the cords.

It is not a portable battery pack, power pack, or self contained charger. It "needs" power to make power.

So its a good way to safe packing space right, and cheaper than buying spare power adapter or other usb power plugs for your home or car right?....no...sorry its not. And to boot it takes up 2 spaces on most power outlets so it does not save you there either...

So unfortunately unless you got money to burn and need the "Moster" name...look else where. such as here

One of the expectations of a two port USB charger is that it will let you save space on the number of outlets used. This is unfortunately not the case with this device. The plug is placed in such a way that it isn't possible to use a nearby outlet on a powerstrip. There is some added convenience of a built in car charger (single usb), but it requires taking the charger back and forth with you. There was also a bit of sparking on plugging this in, not much, but other chargers did not do this. It is capable of putting out a decent amount of current, enough for larger devices. Overall though, the convenience is hampered by the design.

To be clear, this is a box about the size of a deck if cards. It has fold out ac prongs to plug into the wall. In that configuration it provides two usb ports for charging with a total of 5w of power. The round usb port can be pried loose from the box and it is a very small single car charger converting your cigarette port into a usb charger. No cables are included.

Negatives the round part can be difficult to pull out with your fingertips or nails; the ac wall prongs cause the adapter to take up most of a normal two plug wall outlet. It is possible to plug in something else above it, but only a slim lamp plug or similar.

Two days after I received this item I took it on a business trip with my iPad and the iPad's bluetooth keyboard. This item has one module that is a car charger--the bottom bit that you see in the picture, which pulls out to use as a car charger. Or, as you see it there in the picture it inserts in the other component which plugs into a standard wall plug unit. This way it has two USB charging ports--perfect for my iPad and keyboard.

It worked fantastically well all weekend under pretty constant use. The unit did get warm, but never hot.

I hadn't realized things like this existed: now I can't imagine traveling without it for my electronics.

My only beef is there are no instructions, but then again, I'm a computer dummy and I figured it out, so...guess it's not that hard! :D

Nice looking charger. Delivered fast. the first would not work and was sent a replacement very fast. Second one was working but not when plugged into a cigarette lighter. I pulled it apart and had to solder the spring to the circuit board. Now I have one that works, kind of. It will slowly charge and don't think of running navigation while plugged in, the charger can not keep up and uses battery up on my droid X.

6V AGM Sealed Lead Acid Remington Rerchargeable Lantern Batteries

Be careful what you use this for as full charge voltage exceeds 6 volts 6.3 to 6.5 volts. It will drop slowly as it is discharged, as all batterys do. But this one starts out at full charge above 6 volts, so incandesant type lanterns will not like the higher voltage and bulbs will burn out quickly. LED type lights will tolerate the slightly higher voltage without issue. This battery is meant for a game feeder, but is useful for other devices that are not very voltage sensitive. Do your homework and check operating voltages of your device before you buy.

I bought this from American Science and Surplus, which is no longer listed as a vendor for it. Although it was black not green and didn't look like the picture, it was a standard rechargeable AGM battery and arrived nearly fully charged at 6.38 volts. It will power lantern for only about half as long as an alkaline cell, but of course it can be recharged hundreds of times. I put it in a Ray-O-Vac lantern and it worked fine, but the bulb burnt out after about 6 or 8 hours of use. Although I don't know how old the bulb was to begin with, any fully charged AGM battery will overdrive the standard bulbs for these lanterns, which are intended for 6.0-volt carbon or alkaline cells, and are actually rated at 4.75 volts. So, even a 6 volts is overpowering it by 56%, and an AGM at 6.4 volts is overpowering by 78%. There really should be a slightly higher-rated bulb for these batteries, but so far I haven't found one. I put in an LED bulb instead, which gives a narrower and slightly dimmer beam but gives much more light per charge (theoretically, about 30 hours).

The simplest solution to distribute power from my 12-volt battery bank is to use an existing 115 VAC cable from the Prosine true sine inverter to the well area, and convert to 27 VDC at the well head using the DLS-27-15 as a power supply to run the pump directly. While admittedly not the most efficient use of energy due to 10% and 20% losses converting from DC to AC and back to DC, it is a practical way to double the battery DC voltage and obtain a decent flow rate. It works great at zero degrees F!

The pump is painfully slow if run directly on 12 VDC and I would have to run a separate DC cable across the yard to do it that way. A bonus is that since my inverter runs in "Power Save" mode, it will automatically turn on when there is a demand for power and shut off again when the well is shut off (by switching off the AC input to the DLS-30-15). This eliminates a "phantom load" and conserves battery charge (often supplied by a generator during cloudy weather). Another bonus is that the two panels originally purchased to run the well have been moved to increase the capacity of the main solar array for battery charging.

Minus one star for the case they came in. Very cheap, and already has a tear in it (arrived that way). They're giong in the trunk anyway so I really dont care, but it'd be nice if I was the one putting the tear in it, not arriving that way. Don't NOT get them just because of that though, they're still worth it at a great price.

I use this charger to keep the battery in my 1931 Model A fully charged at all times. The eyelet harness that attaches to the battery cables permanently is great as the battery in this car is under the wood floorboards and is hard to access. Now after a ride I just open the hood and plug the Tender harness in and its good to go. Always keeps the battery in good shape.

A Battery Tender will constantly maintain a battery without the damaging effects of a "trickle charger". Full charging initially at 1.25 amps (7.25 volts), the charger will switch to a float-charging mode of 6.8 volts to monitor a 6-volt battery. When the battery is accepting only 0.5 amps, the charger's float mode will decrease both amps and voltage. The amp rate will drop to virtually no current (0.10 milliamps), and the voltage rate will drop to 6.8 volts.

~ The "gassing point" of a 6-volt battery is 6.9 volts. Therefore, applying any voltage greater than 6.9 volts for an extended period of time will overheat the battery and warp the separator plates, permanently damaging the battery.~

(Note: This last paragraph above is the diagnosis for why 99% of all 6 or 12 volt motorcycle batteries fail after only a short life. People unknowingly use a standard 6 or 12 volt battery charger on their new battery which overheats the battery and permanently warps the separator plates. Use a Battery Tender from day one and your battery will outlive it's warranty period.)

I also recommend using "Charge It"(AGL890277Y), a cadmium additive from J.C. Whitney.

Directions for 3-cell, 6-volt M/C batteries:

"Use 1/3 of a 2.5 oz. bottle of "Charge It" into each of the three battery cells BEFORE the acid (electrolyte) is installed. Each cell receives 0.833 fluid ounces of "Charge It" and 7.167 ounces of acid.
