Purchased for my old cellphone when the default one had broken. It did the job for as long as I've needed it and thankfully the micro-charger is pretty universal this has since been utilized for my tablet.

I bought this to replace one I lost. Pretty simple engineering, I'd think. Charge my droid 2 in the car.

It simply doesn't work. I don't know why. Strangely a light on the device is lit which presumably means "charging". But it's not.

It was certainly inexpensive. Mama was right, "you get what you pay for".

Received the Charger this morning and tried to use it today, it will barely connect to charge and when it does connect it doesnt charge. I had to drive 2 hours home today and without even using the phone I watched it go from 50% charged to 40% charged to 30% charged by the time I got home and it was plugged into the charger. It's almost like it used battery just to be plugged in. Terrible charger.

This charger is very low quality; mine broke after the first use. Plugged it in and it worked great; it charged my Droid 2 super fast. The next day when I tried to plug it in again, it simply did not charge my phone and was just completely dead. They make it so dirt cheap so that you will just buy another one instead of returning it or getting an exchange. Lame!

The phone-end connector does not latch into the phone and falls out. I compared the latches on this item to those on my original charger and it looks like the new ones are installed improperly and do not engage the phone receptacle.

I also notice a difference between the new and original phone connector, in the # and locations of the pins. But I do believe the new one will charge the phone since the red LED turns on when the unit is connected to the phone (and when the unit is not plugged into the car outlet).

Works well. Doesn't seem to charge the phone as long as one that I once had, but I bought it 4 a penny (prior to shipping/handling), so just that it charges & holds the charge 4 a day is good 4 me.

I just bought this unit. First off I would like to point out. Most of the users that are not satisfied with this unit should read the instructions. And you can spend a lot of money on a name brand battery booster. Most of them do not last more than a couple of years (Keep it charged and you might get 3 years). You are talking about a rechargeable battery. I am in the industry and you can pay 150 for a unit it will last the same amount of time.

This unit has a internal charger and it is a float charger, that means you can leave this unit plugged up all the time. Matter of fact if you read the instructions. It tells you to leave it plugged up all the time to keep the charge going. This will make your unit last much longer also. Never never let a rechargeable battery go dead and stay dead for a period of time. This will definitely kill the battery and it will not take a charge. It's the same method with your rechargeable batteries on a drill whether they are lithium or whatever. Never never let a battery go completely dead for a period of time.

For 69.00 dollars at Costco you can't beat that deal (this is for home use and recreational not for being used in a shop). I have purchased Schumacher battery boosters before and they last just as long a couple of years and they cost much more. If you want one for a shop, try the Solar E2500 or E5000, they cost about 130.00 to 180.00 and they will only last maybe a couple of years on the rechargeable battery, but are heavy duty for a shop or even a Clore battery booster for about 300.00 plus and that will last you about 3 to 4 years.

I have not tried the jumper yet. But like any jumper, most will not start a totally dead or defective battery. Some jumpers need some voltage in a battery to get it to activate, not sure about this one yet. But it has saved me when my cell phone died a couple of times, me being a knucklehead and forgetting to charge my phone. I have not used the compressor on car tires yet, but I have used it on my grandkids basketball and it was fast. Also the light is bright, would like for it to have been more flexible but, Its ok. Overall, excellent Unit so far for what I paid for and the purpose of this unit.

First let's clear the air, this is not a commercial unit and as such is not built for banging around but will generally last almost if not as long as a commercial unit. Even commercial unit batteries eventually die and must be replaced.

Air compressor I do not recommend using it as your primary air source. This is for emergency air or occasional use only, not to inflate your air mattresses, large items and to top off your leaky tire on a daily basis, get it repaired! I have used it to add air while on the road but it is loud and takes some time, it has a tiny air compressor inside so keep this in mind but it does work. For inflating large volume, low pressure thing go and buy a compressor made for that purpose, you'll be much happier.

Worklight Fairly bright, easy to use switch on the front BUT since it's fixed you have to wrangle the unit around to make it useful, would have been better to have a retractable head but then people would break it and complain about it. Maybe a built in one with a gooseneck or something would be better, not a deal breaker by any means.

12V outlet Works as it should, non issue.

Charging No external adapter to mess with, just plug it into a utility type extension cord and you're done.

Cables Decent quality, fairly heavy duty good clamping and easy to store. Only gripe is they could be longer but are workable and I've been able to jump my vehicles without other issues.

Jump start performance I've had EXCELLENT experience with this unit and bring it with me whenever I go on road trips. I have used this many times and it has more than paid for itself in convenience and speed. It has started even recently dead batteries after hooking it up and waiting a few minutes.

I recieved the powerstation as a gift about a year and a half ago. It worked great until I went to use it a few days ago. I turned on the compressor by pressing the switch and it would not turn off. The switch got stuck in the on position. It kept running and running until I took the unit apart and pulled the wires to the switch. If someone didnt do this I dont know how long the pump would continue to run, but I view this as a safety hazard. I called the company and they told me unless it was within the 1 year warranty they couldnt do anything. I mentioned the potential safety concern and got no response other than they would replace the unit if it was still under the 1 year warranty period. I get it, but be warned the switch may not turn off one day. I can only hope to find a replacement switch at a local electronics store. I guess the manufacturer doesnt belive in feedback and / or product improvements.

Satmap Power Traveller Solar Power Bundle

This is the highest quality solar charging product on the market. It's more expensive than other models, but let me tell you: you get a product that is worth every penny. The design of the case is perfect. Seams match up perfectly, it's very sturdy feeling. The solar panel is hinged and it has a smooth resistance when you open it (it doesn't just flop open).

The whole device has one simple button on the battery. You hold it down and the little LCD screen flashes the battery life. You hold it down again, and it turns off and goes into powersave mode. It will not charge anything unless it is ON (lcd screen displays battery life) and it is NOT plugged into the solar panel.

The solar panel alone will plug into a USB female adapter (provided with this purchase) and charge my Zen MP3 Player! I don't even need to use the battery! (the solar panel output is 5v regulated and 200MA)

This device surprisingly works with the 'USB lithium charger' on DealExtreme. I can charge any lithium battery with solar. I use it to charge my cell phone battery and cannon camera battery.

Bottom line: Don't mess around with those $25 'premium solar chargers'. They are poorly designed and will lead to disappointment.

I purchased the "Satmap" bundle to power my iPhone 3G when hiking, and was already set on the Powermonkey unit, but the Satmap bundle was cheaper and identical, with all the needed adapters.

Charging the battery is straight forward and worked to charge my iPhone in the comfort of my home twice, but once I was on the trek, the battery failed to charge my iPhone at all. In fact the iphone wouldn't even recognize the unit as being attached. The battery unit showed a green LED which meant it was fully charged but it would no longer charge my iphone.

I returned it and purchased a second, identical Satmap bundle hoping the first one was faulty, however it exhibited almost identical behavior. The solar panel charges the battery fine, the battery will charge my phone once or twice fine, but once its actually put to real use, it fails to charge the phone or be recognized by the phone at all. In fact, once charged, when disconnected from the solar panel, fails to power up at all.

I wouldn't recommend this unit to anyone as a unit to charge their iPhone. It may work for other devices, but I can't speak to those. It also fails to charge a 3rd generation iPod as well. The second unit is a total failure, and won't charge anything as it won't even power up once charged.

Despite being a better price for the identical Powermonkey Xplorer, the Powermonkey unit is not an acceptable solution for me.

I got this set because it was almost 40 bucks cheaper than the powermonkey packaged one. however this is designed for the GPS unit from the same brand. With that said, it will still work for all your devices, just have to be creative with the tips and cables you use. The product seems very durable, I've yet to test it, but will be taking it on vacation with me. It comes with everything you need and a nice case to put it all in. Perfect for travelers and hikers both.

I bought the Satmap bundle over the 'regular' Powermonkey explorer because I get the same functionality as the original, but for $30 less. The only difference is that the Satmap bundle comes with a nice carry case and that it's battery pack has a different outlet cord end (a micro USB for a Satmap GPS, I assume). All you have to do is plug one of the included adapters on to the end of the cord & you're ready to charge. I use it for my iPhone 4 & have been pleasantly surprised at how well it functions. The battery charges up in about 8 hours & a full battery pack can charge my iPhone about 2.5 times on a single charge.

It's light & compact enough to take anywhere even for ounce-counting backpackers. If you're planning to use your iPhone/droid as a GPS in the backcountry, this great little charger is the hot ticket to keep your electronics charged.

These are not advertised as light duty, but when I got them that's what they are. But hey, I drive a Corolla, they work fine. My manly side wanted some flippin' awesome heavy duty cables, but it's okay.

I read the other reviews when I purchased these, and decided that I didn't need hardcore heavy duty cables for my little Protege. When my battery died, they fired up my car on the first try.

Two weeks later we tried to jump a V8 jeep with these cables and it took about ten minutes of letting the cars sit together before the jeep would start. I don't know the exact physics of this (whether it was the cable or the battery), but when the jeep died again we had better luck with a more intense set of cables.

Since the jeep isn't mine, I'm quite happy with this purchase. They're cheap and they'll get my car started in emergencies.

I have only been using this for a few days, maybe a week, so I can't speak to the longevity of it yet (I'll update this review if anything is noteworthy). However, what I can say is that it fulfills my iphone sync cable needs. By this, I mean that it successfully charges and syncs my phone. Nothing special. But that's good cables are meant to be in the background, they are most successful at what they do if they go unnoticed. When do you notice a cable? When it stops working, or if it breaks something that's attached to it, or if it does something weird. This one is totally boring, which is great. I mean, the color is super-cute, but that's about as exciting as a cable's going to get.

Some off-brand iphone cables have weird buttons and clasps on the end that plugs into the phone (the not-USB end), making the entire plastic end-piece much larger, which can sometimes make it difficult to use docks and stands that require you to provide your own sync cable. This one is not one of those it looks exactly like the picture.

I bought this so that I could charge my phone, power my GPS, and my Ipod (on my motorcycle). It appears to be cheaply made and not what I expected. For some reason, only my tire pump works. Neither my air pump (to inflate air mattress), nor my Ipod will charge with this...and the LED light does not function. For the price that I paid, I expected much, much more. I decided to purchase a different product (by Deltran) that is 1/2 the price of the Bikemaster unit. It is only 1 socket, but I can live with that. I just need something that will power ALL of my products. Deltran also sells a cigarette lighter plug with a USB input, so I can charge my Ipod this way. I would ask for a replacement, but don't have the receipt anymore, so I am out the money that I paid...So, if you need a power port for your motorcycle, I would rather pay 1/2 the price and have something that works and is better quality than to pay the amount I paid for the Bikemaster, with 3 power ports, a USB port,an LED light...that doesn't work. Sorry Bikemaster...you left me slightly disappointed. I give it 1 star because it powers one of the many items I tried...but they lost 4 out of the five stars for quality, a non-functional LED, non-functional USB, and pricing.

I just bought a motorcycle in summer 2011 (V Star 950T)...and I love to go camping. The main thing that I was looking for was a 12v/15amp cigarette style plug. This Bikemaster product fit the bill and is perfect for motorcyclists. While travelling, I can charge my phone, my Ipod, and keep my GPS operational...All at the same time! It has 3 cigarette style female ports, and 1 USB style port. When I get to the campsite, I can plug in my air pump to inflate my air mattress in about 3 minutes. In the case of a flat tire (haven't had one yet#, all I have to do is plug up the hole in the tire, and then I can plug in my tire inflator to the Bikemaster and re-inflate my tire. This is very compact #it will fit in the palm of your hand# and convenient. The best part is that it comes with a 15amp fuse so I know my items won't get damaged. I hardwired directly to my 12v battery with the included harness and left the SAE plug sticking out under my seat, so it is very unobtrusive.

By the way, the SAE plug is the same as the plug that my Battery Tender Jr. came with so when I get home, if necessary, I can use the harness to plug in my Battery Tender without having to remove the seat on my motorcycle. One more thing...The cord on the harness is long enough to plug into the battery, and the cord on the power port is only slightly longer #total of about 2ft#, but keep in mind that the product you will be plugging in has a cord too. My GPS cord is about 5ft long, my Air pump cords are about 6ft to 8ft long, and my Ipod cord is long enough to plug into this and fit in my jacket pocket. I can't think of why anyone would need a longer cable/cord than what already comes with this product, so it works perfect for my needs...I love it!!!

272 Watts Solar Battery Charger Kit for 12V batteries. Flexible Solar Panels PV Laminate, Charge Co

I bought this solar panel kit before taking delivery of my RV and amazingly, they all fit on the roof of my 25' motorhome, but just barely. My nephews attempted to install this system for me -using limited knowledge of 12 volt electrical systems and no solar expertise. The panels are easy to install, getting the system to work is another matter. There are no real instructions included in this kit.

You will need to add a combiner box, fuses and cable to run from the combiner to the batteries. This was almost another $100 in parts for my RV. A battery monitor is a wise investment, also.

I ended up having to pay an RV solar company to complete the install and add a quality battery monitor. I now have a solar system that will get us thru cold nights (furnance fan runs off battery power) when the days are sunny or we drive over 200 miles. These panels do perform better in lower light and partially shaded conditions than the typical rigid panels.

Knowing what I now know, I would buy this system, again. Should I trade motor homes I don't think these can be moved. They are REALLY stuck tight to the roof.

Unisolar 128 Watt Flexible Solar Panel PV Laminate - Simple & Easy Installation - Peel & Stick

First off, I need to say the product is performing better than expected but it says it does this for the first few days, so far no qualms. Very easy to get pumping out juice and it provides amps even on grey and overcast days.

Here is the issue, the manual shows the top connector as both negative and positive, and there is no + or on the laminant itself. I believed it to be on the top at first then took a closer look at the manual and it showed both and + for the top.

The top is +, atleast on mine they were +.

The length of the laminants is a little hard to work with, if they were the same price for two half size ones with 50-60 watts each, and a connector was included to join them it would be great.

The other thing is the bankrupcy of the company, and question of warranty on the product. It is gaurenteed for 20 years, and that is a real selling point. They are however selling at $200 each a real steal of a buy. I want to get two more, and would if not for the warranty issue, now I'm wondering? But the product is light easy to work with and very hardy. I'm not scared of a rock cracking it.

Birds love them, but they are easy to wash off, or wash off with rain. Love the product, sketchy about the manual, it could be improved but is a great resource, and a + and sign on the connection points would be great, as it caused some rewiring to be needed. A multimeter can fix this but doing anything with a new product is a little tricky cause you don't want to ruin it. None the less love it, and I hope the product survives and is picked up. They are way better than glass panels imo.

I installed 5 of the 68 watt models do to space on my Class C Jayco motor home's roof and used a Morningstar SSD-25 SunSaver Duo 25 Amp Charge Controller 12V and they keep my Coach and engine battery charged year round. The best thing is they stick to the roof. No holes! I feed the wire down the vent for the RV refrigerator. I only have a 400 watt inverter that was stock with the camper but I can play the TV and DVD with the rear roof fan running during the day with no issues. It's been great not having to run the generator or connecting to a shore line. I also ran an emergency line so I could plug the the RV fridge into it so it could run off the inverter if needed. It's been 1 1/2 and no problems so far. It's a little bit expensive at first but it's well worth it in my opinion! Took a lot of time to research just wished I knew about it sooner. Again Great Product so far.

I have a metal roof covered with these on a mountain top for a radio repeater site located over 8,000 foot elevation. They have been there over 10 years and work as good as they ever have. They are exposed to 100+mph winds and although the roof is over 23 foot tall, sometimes they get covered in snow. They work in all kinds of conditions. A great product.

I installed this unit in my 2009 Subaru WRX. I removed it and returned it after 3 days.

The good:

-It has a good amount of power. I ran this to my stock speakers and they sounded much, much better than they did with the factory receiver.

-Good build quality. The physical unit feels well made. Mechanical flip face works smoothly, buttons and volume dial feel solid.

-It's cheap.

The bad:

-iPod integration is terrible. There is no way to easily scroll through artists/albums etc. You have to click an arrow to flip through each individual entry. This is OK if you have a couple albums on a nano, but not OK if you plan to connect an iPod with a large library. Finding an artist beginning with 'N' took close to 100 clicks with my full 120GB iPod classic. And if you want to go from Nelly to Nirvana, you have to start all over from 'A' again.

-Poor screen resolution. Font edges are jagged.

-No dimmer. It has a dimmer connection wire, but it did not work on my unit. The screen was at full brightness at all times, and the manual dimmer control did not work either. At night it was like having a spotlight in my dash.

-Restarts between sources. Every time you change sources, the entire unit restarts. Screen shuts off then on and everything. It doesn't take too long, 3-4 seconds maybe, but it is rather odd and obnoxious. I took the whole thing out to check for a loose connection when it first happened. Called Clarion about it and they said it is normal operation.

-Navigation. The specs list this unit as being compatible with an optional navigation unit. However, the only input for the navigation unit is a component video connection. So if you were to connect navigation, the VX409 would only serve as a monitor, and you would not have touch screen control of anything.

Overall, the actual physical unit could be quite nice. However the software feels like going back to using Windows 95.

The VX409 is a great unit, but for the price, you'd think you would get a lot more.

The Positives:

-The unit makes your factory speakers sound way better. I installed it in a 2000 Honda Accord and had no idea that my speakers could sound that good.

-The motorized fold down screen is awesome. It looks good and is very smooth when it flips down. I expected it to be jerky or sound labored (like other units I've seen) but it simply works and works well. The touch screen responds well to touch whether the weather outside is cold or hot. Also, when the screen is cold, it doesn't lag like I've seen in other units.

-The EQ controls are as easy or as complicated as you want them to be. It's a good unit for beginners or for higher-level installation.

The Negatives

-The software is awful. There is no room for any customization other than sound (which I guess is what really matters, but other things are nice). Another problem is that any time you change from one interface to another, the unit does a small reboot. So if I change from watching a DVD to listening to the radio, I push the mode button and wait for it to reboot into "A/V Input", then through "iPod" and then finally to radio. It takes a while to get to anything because of the constant rebooting.

-The settings menu seems to be its own program on this unit. That is a problem when you're listening to music and then you have to adjust the sound, so you exit the music (which stops playing at that point), boot up into the settings menu, change your settings, then enter back into your music and check the settings. The whole process should be integrated but it's not. Changing and checking one setting takes about 2 minutes due to rebooting.

-Due to legalities, this unit will not play DVDs while the vehicle is moving. They do this by requiring you to hook up a wire to your parking brake. I don't have a problem with this except that I bought this unit so I could send the video signal back to TV headrests for long trips with my kids. This can't be done without buying a small "cheat box" that gives your unit a false parking brake signal and making it work. This of course makes your unit operate in an illegal way and can get you a huge ticket in some states.

-For the love of God, don't set a security password on this thing. Brand new, out of the box, I put a security password on it. It was the same password I use on EVERYTHING so I know it wasn't user error. Long story short, the unit locked me out after three attempts, went into a 24-hour lock out mode, then gave me three more chances to get it right, then went into a permanent lock out mode. After 2 weeks of wresting with Clarion customer service, the whole unit had to be reset.

I love this unit now that I have worked all of the kinks out using aftermarket products and cheat boxes but I don't think I should have to do that after spending $600 on a product. There are tons of units out there from companies who have learned to integrate all programs to work together and also integrate your portable music. This particular Clarion unit has failed to do that. I recommend finding a unit that does.

For the price of this unit, there are far better choices that the vx409. Despite the fact that the unit has added features that you may purchase such a IPOD adapter, bluetooth adapter, and navigation. The controls for these options seems like an after-thought, meant to push more units out the door and make it sound feature rich. The add-ons offer little in terms of seemless user interface. The unit takes a good 3 seconds when switching between different sources, even more when it is trying to decide if the CD you put in is actually a dvd, cd, or mp3s. There are 4 EQ selections and the only changes you can make is the fader, bass, and trebble.

Very nice stereo, would be nicer if the instructions included were clearer and made more sense but they don't. I don't beleve I can use this stereo to it's fullest potential because of this fact. It has noce features but needs a usb port and sd card slot to be complete. Not very customisable. That is all it really lacks to be complete. Put it short this is just another stereo and nothing spectacular...... Easy installation for the mechanically inclined...

If you're buying a Zan Vision: M, you need this set. The process of charging through the USB cable that comes with the player is ridiculously long and annoying. Both of the chargers work beautifully. I've had absolutely no problems. The only complaint I have is that the cords on these chargers are shorter than I would like. The wall charger cord is 2 or 3 feet long which means it can't go far while it's plugged in. It is hardly long enough to put the player on my desk while it's plugged in. The car charger cord is a foot long, maybe less. It's coiled so that, theoretically, you could stretch it if you needed it to be longer, but in my experience trying to stretch it just pops it out of the lighter socket. So that's something to keep in mind when buying.

I just got this external power delivered to me 15 minutes ago after the delivery man left. it came in this small brown paper back sealed with adhesive. inside the package contained bubble wrapping. the package did come on time, so yay me.

small, cute, lightweight, solid build despite the price.

i plugged this in my ipod touch 2g on 4.2.1 firmware jailbroken and it worked instantly. i automatically saw 2 out of the 4 led lights up indicating a charge. on the upper right corner, theres this key with a battery logo on it and if you press it, it indicates how much power is left in the unit (neat). my ipod can also charge while the unit is charging at the same time.

This device is about half the size of my ipod touch.

the only con i can see so far is you can't listen to music via headphones of any kind while charging with it. the unit is too big and covers the jack....oh wells. for 6 bucks, you really can't ask for much.

there was this one review about this unit impossible to charge. i dont know much about that, but ill see what happens and post updates to you guys (if i know how to edit my reviews once published xD)

overall:

handy for on the go or forgot to charge. it's relatively big (half the size of an ipod), so you might have to charge it on a flat surface. its still small when you think about it. im not sure about power and how fast it can charge, because this this time, im trying to get it fully charge. 5/5 star atm...

My first charger did not work at all! So I contacted the seller and they shipped me another one very quickly and apolozied for the one that was defective . A phones battery is just not enough. You need another battery handy. This product worked right out of the package. I have not seen a battery that really last. The two new IPhones, 4 and 4S, promises longer battery use. Well that's an understatement. You must have your phone charging after talking for awhile. This battery charger has come in handy when I'm out for dinner or at a game. I strongly recommend this product. My phones battery just went from 100% to 96% while typing this review. I own an IPhone 4.

You really do get what you pay for so I can't really complain! This product is terrible! I used it 3 times before it completely zonked out. The first time it managed to charge my phone (model: iphone 4) by 11%, the second time 7% and the last time just 3% and even then, I had to hold it in because it doesn't fit the charger slot properly (loose fit) so you need to apply pressure to make sure it is charging at all. If this worked it would be great as it's so convenient small enough to carry around in your purse to use in an emergency. Considering it was only $5 it's not worth the hassle of sending it back, but as it doesn't work I'll be shopping around for a portable battery charger with more positive reviews. I'll also pay that little bit extra to get a product of better quality! Don't waste your time and money, just pay a little bit extra for a more quality product to start with.

Same as the other review so he is not lying the cable is junk. I had the same error as him something about did not get first ak or failed connection. I tried the software provided by the manufacturers website because the cd I received was blank, also tried chirp and I tried shaving down the male end on the cable as suggested by the manufacturer for a better fit on the radio receptacle with no luck.

The radio works great the programming sucks because there are potentially a lot of different settings that go into each channel but once you get past that the radio works great and has a lot of advanced features like dpl and so on.

Again for the price its an awesome radio.

Follow up on this review. I figured out the problem with the cable which is user error. So after a more careful analysis of the manufacturers website, I saw that for the firmware release on my uv-r5 I downloaded the wrong program. The software for programming the baofeng is release specific with in a range of firmware. So after turning off the radio and holding the 3 button while turning it back on I saw that I have firmware **97**. So, I downloaded the corresponding software with appropriate driver for the serial cable and it worked.

Programming cable doesnt work, maual is useless. However the low price masks alot of the problems. Bought this radio to use on the ham bands and the land mobile service for my volunteer fire dept.. However I havent been able to get all the channels programmed yet, due to the cable not talking to the radio. (radio fails to acknowledge first command) I think they were just trying to get rid of some bogus cables. Save yourself the headache and throw it in the dumpster where it belongs, and buy yourself a name brand programming cable!!!!!!!! I am a 9 year veteran of the computer repair industry so do not just chalk it up to user error on my part. Despite all the headache its an ok transciever and a stunningly brilliant radio for the price! So maybe I should just be thankfull that my Icom IC-91A still does its job very well that its not a time critical thing. But I do hate putting my Icom in the pocket of my turnout coat and then truck on up to a burning building with hoses going! Thats why I bought the Baofeng with cable specifically to be disposable, however if I have to invest this much time hand keying only 16 different channels I might not think its so disposable! argh but I digress BUYER BEWARE OF EXACTLY WHAT YOUR GETTING INTO!!!! If your a radio communications and computer technician/ hobbiest fine then it makes a good experiment. I wouldnt want to deploy a fleet of them though. If your a lay person, stay away unless you have very good freinds who are the aforementioned hobbiest/ technician otherwise buy from somewhere that isnt red china! But if you are into figuring out strange technology you might be into this thing. I like it ok enough just for use under my GMRS license

Slime 40001 Motorcycle Tire Inflator

I have been looking for a portable tire inflator I can use for my motorcycle and with the lack of choices, I deicded to give the Slime Tire Inflator a try. The inflator is really small (a little larger than the palm as the picture indicates) and comes with a case that fit all the wires and the unit itself. The unit draws power only from the battery so you can't plug it into a power outlet from your house. You can either draw power with the alligator clip, a pre wired power source (just like the ones from battery tender), or from a cigarette lighter source. Operation is pretty simple too. You just connect the hose to the unit, connect the power cable and draw power from the battery from whatever one of the three above methods and flip the power switch on the unit.

Now the bad... since it's being labeled as a portable inflator, the casing of the unit look very cheap and filmsy. Just like the previous reviewer mentioned, the unit is obnoxiously loud and vibrates like crazy. Finally, it did take almost 5 minutes to inflate my motorcycle tire from 20 to 30psi so I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone trying it on much larger car tires. The owners manual did say that users should not use the unit for more than 8 minutes at a time which I assume wouldn't even be sufficient to add 5 psi of air into a car tire.

Overall, I think the product does a good job of inflating small tires on the go but I am very concerned about its useable life. With the way the unit vibrates while inflating tires and the filmsy looking case, I would not place much confidence on it to last forever. However, if you own a motorycle/ATV and need an inflator on the go, I would suggest this product since a few tube of air catridges cost just as much as this.

This is a neat little addition to any bag of motorcycle gear. This little kit is small enough to toss in your bag and forget you have until you need it. The air pressure gauge feels a little cheap, but that is something you can fix by purchasing another one for a couple bucks. The compressor itself feels very solid, but makes a ton of noise when in use. But this isn't a problem for me, especially since I ride a 600cc lawnmower. The kit comes with a nice assortment of connectors to a power source. I don't know that I would go this small for a car tire. I believe that Slime makes large models for bigger applications. For a motorcycle, it works fine. Took about 45 seconds or so to pump my rear tire from 28 PSI to 36 PSI.

I was excited to say the least when I tried my new Slime power sport tire inflator, I had a low tire on my car and I didn't want to drag out my large compressor so I thought what a perfect time to try out my new slime purchase. It worked great and in no time had my tire back to the recommended pressure. I love the compact size as it will fit perfectly on my Honda Goldwing!this is exactly why I bought it.

The only draw back I could see was with the mechanism that hooks up to the valve stem, which seems to be the only one out there. Would be nice if some one would come up with a better hook up that would not allow air to escape when you try to disconnect! Other wise its a great unit!!!

I was on a motorcycle trip from Chicago to Deadwood, SD when I got a flat, 140 miles from nowhere. My buddy had a similar pump, though slightly larger than this model. Thanks to an emergency patch kit and this pump, our trip was only delayed an hour, instead of days...(try finding a tow truck/motorcycle tire on a Sunday). I have CO2 cartidges for inflating a tire, but they don't allow you the chance to actually find the leak like an inflator does (since whatever punctured my tire didnt stay stuck in it), and they aren't reusable! I agree with the reviews that the valve connection is designed poorly, but there are certain sacrifices you make in exchange for portibility. I don't know why they don't call this a "Motorycle/ATV Tire Inflator". That's what it is meant for. If you are using it regularly, or for an 80psi truck tire, go buy a larger, more heavy duty unit.

The variety of connectors are quite handy, though the wire gage seems questionable maybe 16 gage? I installed a Kuryakyn cigarette lighter to power the unit for any future incidents. It also comes with connectors that work with my Battery Tender Junior quick disconnect, so the lighter wasn't really needed. Or just take off your seat and use the alligator clips.

I tested the unit, and was able to get my back tire easily up to 25psi. After that, it struggles a bit. But it does its job 25psi can safely get you to the next gas station, where you can top it off to the required pressure. The wires are plenty long to reach a MOTORCYCLE tire. So if you plan on using it to pump up the tire on your 5th wheel, look elsewhere. And, no, it doesn't come with a "tire pressure thingy" built it, but then again, neither does the heavy duty compressor in my garage.

I have a bagger, so space isn't necessarily scarce, but this thing is actually small enough to fit under the seat on a lot of sport bikes, or in the side cover storage of a Japanese cruiser. Even smaller if you shed the 10 extra connectors you don't need.

In summary, does what is meant to do...inflate MOTORCYCLE tires.
