Instapark® Mercury 10M Solar Panel Portable Solar Charger with Built-in Dual USB Ports for iPhone,
As you'd expect, it works better in the summer in AZ and at higher altitude than in the fall & winter in WA & OR. Solar cells need strong sun to work well, period. It easy charges an iPhone about as fast as wall outlet in strong sun (45-80 min.). iPad performance is OK, not stellar, it does work but plan to set aside most of the afternoon (4-5+ hours in strong sun). I've really never achieved a full, 100% iPad charge but it did keep me going for extended Kindle reading at remote campsites. I have had success charging on the car dash as well.
Chinese solar cells have come a long way in price & performance in the last year or so. BTW, this model has increased 20% in price in the last few months, and I would still give it 4 stars at the higher price. It's a bit too heavy for extended backpacking (maybe on an overnighter it'd be OK, but I'd think twice before humping this brick on a long trail). The sleeve has a very handy pocket for the battery, cables and adapters, and the loops make it a cinch to hang from a tree, etc.
Summary: Well worth the purchase price, I'll give a solar panel 5 stars when it works as well as an outlet.Works well even in partial sunlight, charges faster than my similar panel .
Battery pack is handy too. Great for on the go .very effective. can charge 2 devices simultaneously. very quick at charging the battery pack that came with it. can charge battery pack while the pack charges device.I bought this product last December and I can't tell you how much I'm satisfied. It helps me stay in touch with my family while I'm right now in a remote area in Haiti where only the sun provides in energy. Some neighbours also benefit from it, because of its 2 USB ports.Cool to have got it!

New Potato Technologies TuneLink Auto Bluetooth in Car Stereo Wireless Adapter for iPhone, iPod Tou
The dongle itself has just 2 jacks in the front of it, one for the audio cable and one for a USB cable. It says that it provides enough power to be able to charge the iphone / ipod as well as an iPad, if that's what you're hoping for. There are no buttons on the dongle to initiate a connection. This causes problems if you are listening to something while your car engine isn't on and then you turn it on. The connection will die and won't try to re-connect so the only thing you'll be able to do is either pull out your phone and tell it to reconnect or pull the adapter out of the port and plug it back in.
The device is controlled via your phone using an app from the app store. The app provides you the ability to find good radio frequencies that should best work with the FM transmitter and set the station the dongle will broadcast at. You can also use it to manage the currently playing song or handle the music that is currently playing. You can name your specific Tunelink device, set a default location (to help with FM frequency help) and set up options to automatically connect, automatically start playing, and even automatically load the TuneLink application when it connects.
An additional feature of this is the capability to have multiple people in the car connect to the adapter and share playback of the music through the Tunelink application. There are different modes that you can set it to to change how this works (automatically queuing, requesting to play something, etc). I have not tried this so I can't speak to how well it works.
Finally, the important bit of sound quality though I might not be the best judge. I have only used mine with a direct connection but it sounds as if my phone were directly connected to my stereo. I haven't tried out the FM transmitter portion yet, but one of the reviews on Amazon indicated it sounds "Very Very Decent" and other reviews I've read have said that it sounds really good, though suffers from the same problems as all FM transmitters.
Overall I'm VERY happy with my purchase. The convenience of just getting in my car and having my music start up as if I've got a CD in the player is great. Having the charge port on there makes it great for normal usage even if you're low on battery and it comes with a cable so no need to get another one or carry one with you. Sorry for the wall of text, but hope this helps.
Pros:
Easy connect
No hassle
FM Transmitter / Direct Audio link
Sharing?
Cons:
No control from the device (need to use a headset and voice commands or take your phone out to control things)
Can't force a reconnect on the device
CostThis product gives me a high quality audio connection between my iPhone 3GS and Mazda3 factory stereo. It pairs easily from the first time and then I do not need to do anything to re-pair it. On short rides, I do not even take the phone out of my pocket as soon as I start the engine, in few seconds music just starts playing where it stopped last time. Of course I use AUX connection to my stereo to avoid any potential static in the city but I tried FM for a couple of days as well and it's very, very decent, volume is not much different from radio stations, and very clear sound if you take care to choose an empty frequency as you should anyway. Also, I set FM Volume to LOW for most clear sound. I can listen to Alan Parson's and Pink Floyd over FM just fine, to my surprise. Dynamic range and frequency response seem to be excellent.(this section of review is updated after weekend testing). I had other FM transmitters before and the sound never was that clear.
So I'm keeping it no questions; and it offers sharing the connection with other people in my car kids love that.
so, to be short, I am done with my car audio upgrades. Tunelink is not cheap but it's MUCH cheaper than to buy and install aftermarket ipod-enabled or bluetooth stereo; besides, it's portable. Oh yes, it charges the phone too, and even the cable is included.
Negatives? hmmm... well, it requires having an iPhone or touch.. though I've heard they have Droid version now. This thing was fabulous while it worked. It dropped signal a couple of times but nothing that unplugging/replugging in didn't fix. Unfortunately, the return window (through Amazon)expired today and it just so happens that as I was leaving for a road trip it quit working entirely. It's not communicating with the radio OR the application. It still has a pretty blue light but yeah not what I bought it for.
Update #1 New Potato has a one year warranty on their products so once I am home from my road trip I will contact them and exchange the defective equipment.
Update #2 Contacting the company was quick and painless as was getting a replacement once I sent them the defective unit. The last unit worked for month so I can't really judge the new one until that time has passed but so far so good. At the very least, New Potato is great.
Update #3 (November 2012) In the last month I've no longer needed this but it still works all this time later.I bought one through amazon and after a few months it would no longer aut connect. That quickly degenerated into no longer being able to connect more than once without deleting the pairing. The next time I would start the car it wouldn't pair again.
New Potato did replace it under warranty but after a few months the replacement is doing the same thing.
When it works, it's a fantastic device. But when it doesn't, it's amazingly frustrating.
For what this costs, it should be a lot more reliable. I suspect it suffers from heat issues and that doesn't make for long life in a device that is in a car.Setup, (if you even want to call it that), totally consists of plugging the Tunelink device into a powered outlet, plugging the AUX cable into the Tunelink and into car AUX port, pairing the Tunelink with your iphone and that's it. Done deal. Sounds quality is better than my factory installed XM radio. Tunelink is rock solid and I highly recommend it.

Goal Zero 11406 Guide 10 Plus Silver Battery Pack
Later that same day: Goal Zero offered a free replacement when I contacted them about getting the unit repaired. Hard to beat that kind of customer service. I find it difficult to underhand why this unit is an add on item. This is a more versatile unit due to the up to 1.0 amp ability.
I have used it just a little so far to verify the ability to charge the high drain iPad.
Overall a solid system and while I don't like having to buy two separate chargers, I am glad for the ability to recharge 8 batteries at once with the Nomad 7.
Pros:
1.0 amp recharge ability.
included batteries are low discharge 2300mah type. Good cells.
can charge in addition to the regular guide 10 on one panel.
Cons:
shouldn't have to buy this as a separate unit.
Hope that helps.

I bought this as a package with their Solar Panel and the Guide 10 Plus. I liked the idea of having a battery charger, coupled with a solar panel, that could be used to charge small electronics. My first attempt to use this was on my Iphone 5 with the pin adapter that lets you use an older charging cable. This immediately fried it. I should have learned my lesson there, but I really wanted this to work thinking it was the adapter for my phone. Later that day I plugged my Kindle Fire into the Guide 10 and fried my Kindle. I think by Trial and Error we can determine that this is a great battery charger but is not suited for much else although Goal Zero claims it is. I contacted customer support on this issue. They sent me a really nice note saying that this should not happen but pretty much to have a nice day. Please don't buy this to charge anything other than batteries. I have numerous chargers for small electronics that have worked flawless. This isn't one of them. Unfortunate. Their Solar panels are quite good, their battery packs....eh. My one star is based on them advertising this won't cook small electronics and their almost moronic mail to me not understanding they may have a faulty component and they should replace it. I am still working on getting a reply to my mail back to them. Thus far after three days, nothing.Read Best Reviews of Goal Zero 11406 Guide 10 Plus Silver Battery Pack Here
I purchased a kit at my local Costco during a Goal Zero road show back in March that included the Nomad 7 solar panel, the Guide 10+ along with several of the cables etc that are normally sold separately. So far everything has worked great except for the Guide 10+. They claim that the Guide 10+ will charge the average cell phone 3 times, I have an HTC EVO with the standard battery and since it is a smart phone I knew that I would get fewer charges. I was expecting to get at least 2 but my experience has been not even one full charge before the AA batteries are depleted. This might be acceptable except for one glaring omission in its design by Goal Zero. I do not know if they just did not think about it or wanted to save a penny on its manufacture but it does not have a blocking diode in its circuit. What does this mean? well a blocking diode prevents what ever you are charging from discharging back into the Guide 10 batteries when they become depleted. I was not paying close attention to charging my cell phone and when I looked at it the battery was indicating only a 50% charge when a few minutes earlier it was around 90% charged. When the AA batteries became depleted the cell battery then tried to charge the AA batteries back up because of the Guide 10 not having a blocking diode. This is at least for me unacceptable and a very poor design!Want Goal Zero 11406 Guide 10 Plus Silver Battery Pack Discount?
Used this on a recent bicycle trip and it worked well to recharge my Kindle... but it wouldn't work with my smartphone.Unisolar 128 Watt Flexible Solar Panel PV Laminate - Simple & Easy Installation - Peel & Stick
Here is the issue, the manual shows the top connector as both negative and positive, and there is no + or on the laminant itself. I believed it to be on the top at first then took a closer look at the manual and it showed both and + for the top.
The top is +, atleast on mine they were +.
The length of the laminants is a little hard to work with, if they were the same price for two half size ones with 50-60 watts each, and a connector was included to join them it would be great.
The other thing is the bankrupcy of the company, and question of warranty on the product. It is gaurenteed for 20 years, and that is a real selling point. They are however selling at $200 each a real steal of a buy. I want to get two more, and would if not for the warranty issue, now I'm wondering? But the product is light easy to work with and very hardy. I'm not scared of a rock cracking it.
Birds love them, but they are easy to wash off, or wash off with rain. Love the product, sketchy about the manual, it could be improved but is a great resource, and a + and sign on the connection points would be great, as it caused some rewiring to be needed. A multimeter can fix this but doing anything with a new product is a little tricky cause you don't want to ruin it. None the less love it, and I hope the product survives and is picked up. They are way better than glass panels imo.I installed 5 of the 68 watt models do to space on my Class C Jayco motor home's roof and used a Morningstar SSD-25 SunSaver Duo 25 Amp Charge Controller 12V and they keep my Coach and engine battery charged year round. The best thing is they stick to the roof. No holes! I feed the wire down the vent for the RV refrigerator. I only have a 400 watt inverter that was stock with the camper but I can play the TV and DVD with the rear roof fan running during the day with no issues. It's been great not having to run the generator or connecting to a shore line. I also ran an emergency line so I could plug the the RV fridge into it so it could run off the inverter if needed. It's been 1 1/2 and no problems so far. It's a little bit expensive at first but it's well worth it in my opinion! Took a lot of time to research just wished I knew about it sooner. Again Great Product so far.Great quality product, easy to install needs more space than conventional panels and is as most solar films only 8% efficient and needs an MPPT controller to turn into 12VI have a metal roof covered with these on a mountain top for a radio repeater site located over 8,000 foot elevation. They have been there over 10 years and work as good as they ever have. They are exposed to 100+mph winds and although the roof is over 23 foot tall, sometimes they get covered in snow. They work in all kinds of conditions. A great product.Easy to install, great power out. Customer service good on follow ups. Would buy more in the future. Good buy

Sunbright 6-FM-7.0 Sealed Lead-acid Battery 12 Volt / 7 Ah
According to its data sheet (google Rhino SLA7-12 to find it), under heavy drain its capacity falls to 3.5 Ah, but those tabs are too small for high current anyhow. My scooter is probably about as high as one should go; the scooter's original battery connectors were soldered on, which probably helped the current rating a bit.

I bought this product, after I talked to a couple of car radio experts. They told me that my 2002 Chevy Monte Carlo would never accept this product. But I bought it any way, and I am I glad I'm a little hard headed sometimes. This thing works perfectly, sound quality is great, I can control song up and down though the radio. I couple of words about the installation; I am very handy and was worried about this install. You have to get to the back of the radio, and in every car there are different degrees if difficulty involved. You also need to splice in wires and I soldered mine in to make sure they are perfect. Also the instruction manual lists settings for like a 100 cars, so you find yours and flip the little switches to match what the manual says. I did that, plugged it all in, tested it, nothing, no sound. It says some radios take up to three minutes to recognize the iPod adapter, waited the three minutes and still nothing. I was so disappointed, however I know that an Impala almost the exact same as a Monte Carlo but with four doors, so I checked to see if the Impala had different switch settings. Which it did, I tried those settings and it worked instantly! So the important thing is know your car and know cars that are like yours that may have the same radio and try different settings before you give up, because this thing is awesome.Read Best Reviews of Peripheral ISGM73 GM iPod Interface Kit Here
I purchased this to install in my 2002 C5 Corvette.Included instructions are rather poor. Fortunately there are some excellent directions (including DIP switch settings) to be found on online forums.
The cables included are not used for the Corvette. Unfortunately, I did not find this out until tearing the dash apart to install it. Nothing like doing it two times....
So complaint one there are three cables included, and none of them worked for me. I had to purchase a cable (and one that is becoming rare and may go extinct make sure to check for this before purchasing). I later saw some bright entrepreneurs on a well-known auction site have started offering kits with this device in combination with the correct harness.
The sound quality is great.
As stated in other reviews, the random play control does not work. You get around 7 songs, and then it will play those same 7 again. The only way around this is to use the iPod to forward. Also, sometimes when using the "next" button on the stereo, the song skips or plays fast, "chipmunk style", once again requiring the intervention of the iPod.
A minor inconvenience is that when you press the "next" button, it takes about 1.5 seconds for the iPod to respond and play the next song.
Next problem also stated by other reviews it will no charge the iPhone 3G. You will need an adapter if you want to charge and avoid Apples #%&! nag screens. I purchased one by Griffin and recommend it.
Another problem the connection is powered at all times, key on or off. Other Corvette owners who drive their car infrequently have had their batteries drained by this device. I have not had this happen, but thought it good to warn.
But.... given the options, which are few are far between, this became my choice. If you invest in a good mounting method so that you can easily and quickly control your iPhone/iPod, most of the faults of this device are forgotten.
I just wish Peripheral would update this. It's time to update it to USB from Firewire and try to fix some of the bugs.

I didn't do the research and just believed what I read on the sellers page. I was under the impression this would fit my car by the way it was described. It was not what I needed for my car. However, they did accept my return and processed it very quickly. It was more my fault then theirs, but they did have wrong information in their description.I purchased the ISGM73 iPod Interface for my 2007 Pontiac Vibe and I couldn't be happier. It arrived on my doorstep in less than 48 hours, the install was very simple, and the sound quality of this product is top-notch. I didn't read too many reviews that discussed installation, so here are a few pointers I picked up along the way.I spent a total of about two hours doing the install, but I could probably do it in under an hour if I had to do it again. Obviously, removing the stereo was the first step. Piece of cake. Once out, one end of the supplied harness was plugged into the open port on the back of the stereo (my Vibe didn't come with the factory CD Changer, or even the wiring... which made it even easier). The other end of the harness was then plugged into the supplied interface module. The last thing to do... supply power to the harness assembly/module. I tapped into the 12 volt constant power source that feeds the stereo through the factory stereo harness (in my Vibe, it was the blue wire with the white stripe). I used one of those two-wire blade-type compression connectors, and then double checked that the interface end of the harness was receiving power with a test light. I then grounded the black wire to a piece of metal behind the stereo with a circular wire connector and a sheet metal screw. The last thing to do... connect the data cord to the interface, run the cord under the consol, and plug in the iPod (iPod Classic 80 GB). Instantly, the little "charging" lightning bolt on the iPod came on. I then simply pressed the CD/AUX button on the stereo, and voila... music was flowing (Audioslave, I believe:).
I played around with the EQ setting for a moment or two, and then turned it up. THE BEST THAT THE STEREO HAS EVER SOUNDED! Crisp, clean, clear, and loud (without any distortion). As far as the stereo controls and their interaction with the iPod... they work, but are a bit slow and clumsy. The "next track/previous track" up/down arrows on the stereo work great, but trying to use the factory buttons to search for music would be cumbersome (trying to use the "time advance" feature to get to a particular place in the song is also a little slow to respond). I usually just set my iPod to shuffle and just skip to the next song if need be, so using all the stereo controls isn't that big of a deal to me. If that is of concern, know that the controls of the iPod are still completely functional (this product doesn't cut-off the iPod controls when plugged in). When you turn the car off, the iPod will pause and continue charging (although it takes about 10 seconds for the iPod to recognize that the car is shut down and pause). When you turn the car on, the iPod come out of sleep/charge mode and picks back up where you left off. My one and only complaint...the track/artist info doesn't display on my stereo face. It displays "D1 T1" (disc one, track one), and then advances tracks as I skip ahead (D1 T2, D1 T3, etc...). It would be nice to have the feature, but not that big of a deal to me.
Overall... I am thrilled! My 30 mile commute to work just got a whole lot better!

Fosmon Premium Quality Retractable Car Auto Charger for BlackBerry Torch 9800 / Bold Slider Smartph
I would not recommend this product to a friend.I thought this thing was great! It didn't get tangled up with other cords. I loved that it was retractable. However, after the first week it would no longer charge my Blackberry Torch. Probably because it's not an "official" charger. So, now it's totally useless to me.Was skeptical at first because it had the description of a charger for the BB torch and motorola, so I was afraid it would mess up the hole for the charger on my phone, but it fits well and works great charging my phone in my car! I like the retractable too that way it keeps it close to where it's being charged. The charger does its job. I'm a careful person but the wire is so thin that I'm always afraid I'm going to pull it out
