Didn't have a chance to use it many times as it is intended for long trips without access to power and I didn't have those yet but I ran my test on it and managed to get 3.5 charges to my iPhone 4S, which is good enough for me. I've used another battery pack before (5000mAh) which would give me same number of charges to my iPod touch which had significantly lower battery capacity so I take it as even (higher battery capacity device requires higher capacity battery pack to get the same results). So far so good. I'll update if I get any new experiences.

My old FM transmitter that was about 8 years old took a dump on me, so I had to get a new one. The result is that I ended up getting this one.

First thing is, I was completely miffed by the fact that all of the FM transmitters on the market advertise extensively how they work with iPhones and iPods. Well, it would be a cold day in August before I would ever buy an Apple product, so I spent quite a bit of time searching and making sure that this one would work with my Droid 2 Global. And it works extremely well at that.

The second thing is, I paid about $60 for my old FM transmitter back in 2004, and the sound quality was a little bit sketchy. That's not the case with this one. In fact, I can now crank the stereo and enjoy crystal clear audio. I honestly didn't know that the stereo in my car was as good as it is. I also like the fact that I can use the entire FM band.

The one recommendation I have for users is to make sure that your mp3 device is on about 80% volume. It will produce some distortion (sounds like static) if on 100%.

The negatives are minimal. First of all, the device didn't come with an instruction book. So I have no idea if there are any bells and whistles I might be missing. Plus, there is no control to adjust the output of the device itself. Other than that, though, I'm happy with my purchase.

EDIT: I feel bad about this review because so many people have marked that they have found it useful. I am keeping my original review in its entirety, but I feel as if I need to do a followup.

Six months later, the cable that plugs into this unit from my car's cigarette lighter has developed a short. The music being played is staticy, and occasionally, it will cut completely out when hitting a bump. I know it's in this plug because when I twist it, the music will cut out completely. I'm disappointed because it worked so well and was so clear when I bought it. Clarity in my music really matters to me, though, so I am finding that I am having to replace it.

This transmitter was a piece of crap! I got it and the first week I had it, it sounded great! Then the second week it randomly stopped working. When the cable was barely touched at all or moved the music would stop or it would sound only play the sound and no lyrics. it was just a bad experience. you are better off paying a little more for something better and well known, or getting an auxiliary cable.

I rarely review on Amazon (boo to me), but I feel this product needs the positive reviews to ensure you believe its worth the low price.

I previously owned a much more expensive transmitter for an iPhone and it was crap. I needed a windshield dock to position it in a particular location to get MINIMAL (never completely faded) static.

When my iPhone began failing, I started using my BlackBerry and invested in a MicroSD card and transmitter because my drive to work is rather long and lacks interesting scenery.

This transmitter works great. The first time I used it, I tuned to the station I previously used with the iPhone because it worked the best then. I was a bit surprised to hear complete silence, honestly thinking the station that I could previously hear bits and pieces of between static was gone. It wasn't until this morning powering up the radio before the transmitter that I realized it was simply because the transmitter was "reserving" the frequency for whatever would play. COMPLETE SILENCE, NO STATIC!!!

The sound quality is great (in my opinion as someone who just wants to hear the music at a decent volume without static), and it's very simple to use.

The only thing I noticed which I'm not too sure how to explain is that there was actually a lot of interference when I tried to charge my BlackBerry at the same time. I'm not sure if this is specific to me or what but I just avoid it by making sure I have a full charge.

It is not very sturdy. The extra charger on the back is the best feature. It is useful but you may want to spend a little extra on a better cradle.

The cradle fits my HTC Thunderbolt but the phone sits tilting forward just past straight up vertical, when it should be tilting back. My fix was a wood wedge under the base. If you can't do something like this maybe this one isn't for you.

I emailed the vendor and he asked me to ship it back to him. I objected to pay the shipping fee and asked him for total refund. I read the other reviews and hoped I would get a charger that has the special modification needed for a Navigon to charge and operate at the same time. Unfortunately the set I received were standard universal chargers and placed the Navigon into 'PC mode''. Mine was ordered from BlueMall. It will cost more to send them back that it is worth to me, so I will keep them around for other mini USB devices I own. I really dislike products with proprietary cable needs for this very reason. To be clear this (and any other mini USB) charger will charge up the gps. But to use it while it is charging you need a specially modified cable that shorts pins 4&5 and preferably puts out 1A of power. My search for a working replacement cable continues...

It's been two months, and it's no longer "retractable." It also is very particular so if I move the blackberry in any way, it stops charging. In my mind, it's only for emergencies. I would still try my best to make sure that my phone is fully charged before getting in the car. I only use this if my blackebrry is close to draining after a day of meetings.

but Sain store are decent I have gotten handheld Ham stuff from them in the past and no complaints.

I bought this unit and it worked great to jump vehs and put air in my motorcycle tires. However, every time I would jump my truck I would have to charge it. I could get several jumps of smaller cars but it just didnt seem to hold enough juice for my F150. Another problem I had with it was the charge lights never worked right, no matter how drained it was it would show to have a full charge. I put it in a safe place and made sure it was safe. The unit's air switch is stuck and the pump is burned up. For the price I paid I dont think this unit was worth it. I took care of it and followed the directions to make sure it would last, but after just one year of what I would call light/medium use, its dead. I thought maybe the warranty would help me out but I found that it only has a 90 day warranty, so here I am shopping for a new one.

Today I tried to jump my sisters Camry but it just fell short and would not start the car. One problem with these low cost chargers is the battery connecters are plastic and break easy. Mine snapped so looking for a way to fix it but glue failed. The inflator gauge is off but it did put enough air in my tire just have a tire gauge with you. Bought this at BJ's for $29 so can't complain but they need to make the connecters out of something stronger than plastic.

Ive used this unit to successfully start my car when the battery was dead. I have 2 of these units, however, when i plug one of the units in to recharge it, the "charging" indicator light doesn't go on. The light does go on when charging the second unit. I'm not sure if its just the indicator light that's bad or if there is some problem with the unit accepting the charge. This is the reason for 3 star. It's fairly expensive and now i need to replace the unit that doesnt charge, i cant rely on it. I'm going to try the black and decker 450.

Quality seems as good as OEM. I like the retractable cord becase it is not a mess in your glove box. I've have and have had several other cell phones for which I've bought the same style. The coiled ones are a mess in the glove box and get tangled up in everything. The cords could probably carry 220 volts which is over-kill. The price was very good even with shipping, I believe mine was from BarganCell and they only charge $2.95 per item.

I bought this charger a year ago. Not sure if its connected to a total reset of my cellphone (loss of setting), the next day that occur the 1st time I used it, but that did occur.

Its better made than I expected for the price: (1) the charger still works; (2) still seems solid in spite of use, (3) retracable cord is best feature.
