Solartech SPM005P-D 5-Watt 12-Volt Polycrystalline PV Solar Panel

Solartech SPM005P-D 5-Watt 12-Volt Polycrystalline PV Solar PanelI selected this to add to the outside of my enclosed auto trailer to keep the winch and front jack battery charged. needed to be waterproof..

very nice package, and easy to mount (altho a little fun getting the bolts inside the frame was a challenge)..

so far working as epxected, the battery voltage is rising, even without direct sun.

and because its black, you almost don't notice it.

Sam

Perfect to charge my trailer deep cycle battery. Fast too. A economical solution to the how to charge the camping battery and keep it alive.

Car Charger for Motorola Cliq

Car Charger for Motorola CliqOk charger. Takes awhile to charge but did not expect that much being that it was so inexpensive. Does its job and glad to have it in my car if battery is going low. Fast shipping.

I was miffed when I found out that T-Mobile charges upwards of $20 for car chargers. Unwilling to give them any more of my money, I decided to look on the Internet. I found this product after less than a minute of searching and decided to give it a shot--for the price, I had very little to lose.

My car has a USB port which is supposed to let me connect to my phone. For whatever reason, my phone refused to acknowledged it was plugged in when I used a USB cable in my car, although the very same cable and port worked fine for others' phones. To my great pleasure, this car charger worked without a hitch where the USB cable failed.

Other than "it works well," there is not much else to say. The industry-standard light to indicate it is plugged in is bright and leaves no room for guessing whether or not I am good to go. I have had it about eight months at this point and it is showing no signs of wear even after the frequent usage and mild abuse it has gone through. Especially given it's basement-bargain price, you should stop reading this review and just order it if it's even a consideration.

Original Parrot Minikit Smart Universal Bluetooth Hands-Free Charging Holder PF290008AA

Original Parrot Minikit Smart Universal Bluetooth Hands-Free Charging Holder PF290008AATest device: Samsung Epic, Android 2.2

I've been keeping an eye on Parrot's product line ever since I got my Fit a few years ago as there wasn't an option for hands-free. I wasn't ready to drop a few hundred on one of the integrated systems, plus another hundred or so for installation, though they look to be the best way to go. I tried a product similar to the Minikit, which turned out to be a disaster as it was way too quiet and then fell apart. But, I decided to give the Minikit Smart a try anyhow, based on the generally good reviews of their other products. My hope was that it was better than my current solution, which was to plug the phone's audio out into my Fit's audio in and shout a lot.

Out of the box, I was mostly happy with what I saw. The Minikit feels pretty solid, and similar in weight to my Garmin GPS. The cradle snuggled up well with my Epic, with no interference with the Epic's side buttons. No way to use the Epic's camera though, as it's fully blocked when centered on the Minikit's back. That eliminates the use of augmented reality apps while driving. Honestly, I worry about the mic, which on a thin retracting cable. If I have this thing attached to another surface and the suction holding the main body in place lets go, I am not confident that the cable is going to survive. No option to export the audio either, so if that cable does break, the Minikit becomes a paperweight. The kit seemed to contain everything I needed to get it to work, though the manual leaves a lot to be desired. Not that I needed it, but I was a little surprised Parrot didn't include a charging cable for iPhones, given their popularity. Even without, the kit still contains two of the most common cable types for smart phones.

As indicated by the manual, I first went to get the latest update for the Minikit from Parrot's website. Let me tell you, what a pain in the @ss. Navigating around the Parrot site is frustrating at best, even to the point of switching languages on you. While the US version of the site doesn't have a compatibility list for the Minikit, which makes sense since it is advertised as good for all smartphones, the UK version of the site I was transferred to does have one, (add the following to the end of Parrot's dot com address: /uk/support/onlinehelpguides/parrot_minikit_smart/compatibility). The list isn't so full, and my phone isn't listed. Eventually, I was able to find the software update for the Minikit (Note: The Parrot Software Update Tool is not compatible with the Minikit Smart, you need to visit the UK site to the software and instructions for flashing.) Following the procedure went well, and in a few minutes, I was able to update.

For the charging to work, you *must* have the Minikit connected to a power source for this to happen. It will not charge up your device from its own internal battery. I used a standard USB cable and USB cigarette light adapter instead of the included adapter, as I wanted the extra USB port my adapter offered (allows me to charge two USB devices at the same time). The included micro-USB cable fitted my Epic with no problem. It's a pretty short cable, just enough to reach around the back and connect without too much strain on the connectors. As hoped for, it charged up my phone without a problem. I was also able to charge both the Minikit and the phone using a USB wall adapter. A tad over 2hrs and the Minikit was ready to go.

Pairing my Epic with the Minikit was smooth as silk. In short order it had synced all my contacts over and was ready for use. I placed a few test calls from within the house, a quiet environment where I thought it would perform the best for taking vocal commands and for me being able to hear it. Hearing was no problem at all, the 2W speaker more than enough in the dead silence. The voice recognition didn't do so well. Out of 5 attempts for 10 different contacts, the Minkit only dialed out correctly once, most often not understanding who I was trying to call. Trying various mic positions didn't seem to help. In contrast, I use the voice input on my phone often and it rarely has issues, even when I am shouting at it while driving along the freeway.

In the car, I mounted the Minikit to the dash on the same plate that I had been using for my Garmin GPS and connected everything up. It's not a clean look, for sure. Power cord to the Minikit so it can provide power to my phone. One cord from the Minikit to the phone to give it said power. Mic cord from the Minikit to where I mounted the mic. And one optional cable to pipe music from the phone to the car's sound system. Looks a bit like a spider perched up there on the dash. Staying within the laws governing obstruction of view and items hung from the windshield could be a challenge with this setup, at least if one wants/plans to use the Minikit's ability to keep their phone charged up.

On the road, the Minikit's base was quite steady, holding onto the dash without a problem. The base's swivel allows for angling your device just right for best viewing and it's pretty tight. The swivel can be tightened further, should it start loosening up over time or because of a weighty device. The mic surface mount included in the kit held the mic in place without a problem. The cradle holds my Epic firmly, and the phone did not shift in position whatsoever over the course of several trips. For me, it was too quiet to use properly (not much sound deadening in a smart sporty car). Around town it was ok, as long as I had the windows up, no music going, and the fan for the heat/AC wasn't on. Anything above 60mph and it was too difficult to hear. I eventually plugged it directly to my Fit's sound system, and that worked much better. Though I couldn't listen to the radio or a CD with it plugged in like this, I could use Pandora, Audible, and few other music related apps instead. Callers could hear me pretty ok, I only had to repeat myself a few times at a higher volume.

The Minikit Smart is a decent product, but, not without its drawbacks. I wish I'd opted for one of their systems that is fitted right to my car's stereo though. It doesn't look clean when installed, should be removed after every trip so as not to invite thieves, and if I get an extended life battery for my phone the cradle probably won't be able to hold onto my phone anymore. As well, it's still better than what I had. Maybe I'll resort to taking it apart and integrating it into my Fit a bit better.

3.5 Inch LCD Screen Rearview Mirror DVR Car black box with Dual Swivel Camera, TV OUT, Night Vision
  • Dual lens, surveillance the outside and inside together.
  • 3. 5 inch TFT LCD monitor.
  • Support 32GB card.
  • Cycle recording.
  • Night Vision Function.

Pros:

Does what it says

Cheap

Cons:

Does not record while charging

Instruction manual is worthless

I don't understand why this product will not record while plugged in charging. What is the point of cycle recording with a huge 32GB SD card if you are limited by the battery that does not charge while in use? Perhaps I am doing something wrong, but the instruction manual offers no help.

Mini USB Car Charger Vehicle Power Adapter - Red for Apple iPhone 4 4G 16GB / 32GB 4th GenerationWorked well for the first month and then just stopped. Kept it plugged into the car the whole time, so apparently it's just shoddily made.

Only two dollars though, so I think I'll crack it open and see if it can be fixed with a bit of solder.

Works perfectly! We love them they are cute, work well, and cost way less than other chargers. I bought 3 so that we'd have one for each car.

Battery Tender 021-0127 Battery Tender Junior 6V 750mA Battery Charger

Battery Tender 021-0127 Battery Tender Junior 6V 750mA Battery ChargerI have a special interest car that only gets driven in fair weather 10 times a year. The battery was always low. It was a real pain to get the charger out and hook it up (the battery is under the rear seat) every time I wanted to take it out. Those days are over. With one quick disconnect of this little gem I am on my way in minutes rather than hours. Wish I had bought this a long time ago. I highly recommend it if you have similar circumstances.

This item charges up your 6 volt batteries just as described without overcharging.

Once a certain voltage is hit (7.6v range), the device cuts off the full charge, and drops down to a float charge (6.7v). This has been verified using a multimeter. The status LED lets you know exactly what's going on.

The battery charger and maintainer is a really good addition to my garage. You get three options for hookup and the wires are much heavier than some of the others on the market. My 1930 Model A ford is happy!

I purchased one of these Deltran 6-volt tenders in 2009 for use on my Honda Trail 90. It worked fine that first winter. When I went to hook it up this past fall, it didn't work. To avoid the time cost and hassle, I didn't seek a warranty replacement, I just purchased another one of the same brand and model. When I went to hook it up, bad news. This one did not work right out of the package. I returned it to Amazon and received a prompt refund. I have four of the Deltran 12-volt battery tenders and they are all still working fine after four years. Don't know what the problem is with the 6-volt model but I will not purchase another one.

Goodyear i5000 Cordless Tire Inflator and 12-Volt Power Pack

Goodyear i5000 Cordless Tire Inflator and 12-Volt Power PackReceived the pump when promissed, so far it has worked as advertised. I really like the auto shut off when the tire pressure reaches your selected pressure. Some advice, if you set the pressure for 32 pounds of pressure and the tire pressure is already at 32 psi or HIGHER the pump will not start, it only starts when the tire pressure is BELOW what you set psi for. I have already used it for the kids soccor balls, my vehicle tires (Ford F150) and my travel trailer tires, with air pumps that need to be plugged in the a power source, this would not work on my travel trailer because the standard 10 foot power cord would be too short for me to reach the trailer tires!. It also came in handy when having to winterize my travel trailer by pressurizing the water lines to blow out the water from the lines. Also, a great price for the convenience of not needing to plug it in to an outlet or cigarette lighter!

Very good machine, works like a champ. Wish it would tell me when it's full, rather than NOT starting on a tire that is already at full charge. It took me a while to realize this "feature". Great to be wireless!

I bought this for my husband as a gift. We have a camper and he wanted something that we could take with us when we travel that doesn't need electricity. The first one we received did not work (worked for about 3 minutes, then quit), but they quickly sent me a replacement and it works great! His father also has this pump, has had it for several years and is quite happy with it!

Read Best Reviews of Goodyear i5000 Cordless Tire Inflator and 12-Volt Power Pack Here

Be aware that you must cool the unit for 10 minutes after running it for 10 minutes so it doesn't burn out. I added about 4 psi to my vehicle tires and it ran for less than a minute per tire. It runs quiet for an inflator. The built-in lighted dial guage is very accurate, but kind of hard to read because the marks are small and close together.

Setting the target pressure is easy, you just twist the guage until a pointer lines up with the psi you want. The inflator automatically shuts off at that pressure and it is accurate and consistent. No switching back and forth between filling and checking with a separate tire guage and bleeding air to hit the target pressure. The setting stays until you move it again, so you can bring all your tires to the same pressure without re-setting it for each tire. No fuss like with a digital one. Super convenient.

I recommend charging the battery immediately after use and keeping it fully charged at all times. The lead acid battery will have the longest lifetime that way. Once the battery gives out, the only way to run it is directly powered from a 12V vehicle outlet.

The manual and the labelling of switches and sockets is a little confusing, but operation is not overly complicated. There are two switches and two power ports. You'll figure it out.

You could burn it out with a big job like completely filling an RV tire, raft, air tank, etc. unless you stop every 10 minutes. As long as you stay within the limits, this will be a good tool. Probably the most convenient way to maintain vehicle tire pressures.

I should've been tipped off that the taped-up box that came to my house housed a unit with the "on" switch already flipped on. Regardless, I turned it off and, pursuant to the instructions, allowed it to charge before any use.

The result? The battery was DOA. Did it pump air? Sure, but it also blew the fuse on a 1998 Jeep Wrangler on the first try.

Did I try to return it? You betcha. What happened? Oh, it is a hazardous material and I can't return it in the mail, per Amazon.

This is a failure of the seller, manufacturer and, frankly, of Amazon.

Complete dissatisfaction.

Do. Not. Buy. The battery was a gimmick and I should've known better from the start.

CTEK Multi US 3300 12-Volt Smart Battery Charger

CTEK Multi US 3300 12-Volt Smart Battery ChargerI own two of these excellent chargers they are very simple to operate and very durable.

The chargers are weatherproof, and you can permanently mount them in the engine compartment with the provided ring terminals, or just use the alligator clips.

The charger has a battery status indicator (low / full), and settings for Motorcycle, Car, or Gel battery. The charger cycles from trickle current, to pulses, and shuts off when the battery is full. There is no better charger for winter storage battery tending, bringing nearly dead batteries back to life, or just recharging boat batteries slowly overnight.

Finally, I should mention that the current version of the 3300 has some improvements over the already excellent older version (I now have one of each). The latest version includes:

Heavier gauge wiring

Much heavier and more durable alligator clips

A nice zip-up storage case

This charger, as well as the current (more popular) Battery Tender chargers are both made in China. This charger seems to be superior to my Battery Tender chargers in that it appears to be well sealed, of a more modern design, spark proof. Enclosed in a two piece cast housing, not an aluminum box. The charging algorithms will bring back a sulphated battery in some cases. It has three different charging settings, and brought my sulphated APC UPS battery back to limited life. It is particularly well suited for small motorcycle size batteries as well as larger batteries. It may be left connected indefinitely.

.

My only complaint is the cheap power cord that gets as stiff as a broomstick in extreme cold. . . . . $%##@!! cheap plastic covered power cords, anyway!

Buy CTEK Multi US 3300 12-Volt Smart Battery Charger Now

I ordered 2 different chargers to maintain my gate opener's deep cycle battery (a simple 4 output charger with extension cords for charging other deep cycle batteries from amazon Battery Tender 022-0148-DL-WH 12V 4-Bank Battery Management System) and this unit has a far superior charging design.

The 4 bank battery tender does a simple fast rate charge then switches to a trickle charge at a constant voltage with 4 outputs.

This unit pulses the battery under charge and features 3 operating modes with different current outputs for different sized batteries. The selections are motorcycle which also works well for SLA gel cells or AGM batteries, standard automotive starting battery, deep cycle batttery, and off.

What makes the CTEK unit special is that it uses a pulse charge in all modes to attempt to desulphate batteries, while the battery tender does not. This method of charging has proven successful in restoring lead acid batteries that won't take a charge any more.

It comes with a waterproof 12V output cable and a set of clips or rings for permanent installation under the hood of your car. In addition to the LEDs for indicating the type of battery being charged, a second set is provided for empty, 1/2 full, and maintenance pulse charge mode.

There is also a noticable increase in quality between the battery tender and this unit small details like a water sealed housing and gaskets on the connectors indicate quality in manufacture.

For a single 12V lead chemistry battery this is a useful, well made tool.

This is the best charger ever. I have a lead plugged into my motorcycle, and 2 cars and I rotate it between the 3 of them and they start up like th battery is brand new. This will pay for itself just in not having to buy a new battery. Don't think you'll find something similar at wal mart for half the price. Don't go cheap as this is the best and well worth it.

This is a great charger. Our family van doesn't get driven much during certain times of the year so it sits in the garage. It's on its second battery and I am determined to keep this one fresh and topped off. The included dongle for for permanent installation makes this a snap, all I have to do is pop the hood and connect it up to the connector and I'm done. The charger automatically goes into maintenance mode where it keeps the battery nice and happy. I've also used this charger to revive an otherwise completely drained battery for a neighbor's car. He left an interior light on and discovered that the battery was completely flat two weeks later. I let him borrow this charger and it fully charged the battery over a weekend and the battery has not given my neighbor any more issues.

It costs more than some of the dumb battery chargers, but this one takes up less space, comes with valuable accessories, and provides enough current to properly charge larger capacity batteries. Two thumbs up!

Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi

Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable for Garmin Nuvi
  • This unique hardwire power cable allows you to hardwire your Nuvi GPS receivers
  • Input range: 12 - 24V
  • Output range: 5V at 1A
  • Cable Length: 6 feet
  • Red wire is for positive

I installed this unit inside the headlight housing of my Yamaha V Star 950. After carefully studying the motorcycle wiring diagram, I learned there is a pre-wired connector for an optional light bar accessory. Since I wasn't using the accessory light circuit I determined it to the perfect location to tap into the motorcycle's electrical system. And the light circuit has power only when the engine is running so tapping in there will prevent the GPS from drawing power from the motorcycle battery when not in use.

There was just enough room inside my headlight housing to insert the 12V power transformer with the USB connector threaded out the back of the headlight housing. Next I plugged the USB connector into my GPS device mounted on the handlebar and cranked the engine. Viola!

I have no clue what would cause some GPS devices to switch into data mode. But my Nuvi 255 correctly switches from battery to direct current mode when the engine is running and switches back to battery power when the motorcycle engine is turned off.

Buy Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Now

Used this to power my Garmin Nuvi 760 & 765. Anyone with decent techincal skills will be able to intall this perfect. Connect the red wire to 12v switched power. And Black wire to ground. Make certain 12v source is switched power to prevent a battery draw. Which will kill the battery if the Nuvi is attached while the car is parked.

I ran the wire to the glove box to keep the garmin chagred and ready to go when i need to use it.

Read Best Reviews of Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Here

My GPS intermittently switched from charge to battery mode in use on the motorcycle--in other words, the power supply was intermittent. Then after proper installation and very little riding for three months it DIED. Checked the mini-USB connector: the metal shell was not connected to ground and two of the connector pins were shorted together. Also discovered the power cable is not shielded and has very light-gauge wires in it compared with the wiring out of the cigarette lighter charger that Garmin supplies. Cannot recommend this unit. Buy something better. Installation on a motorcycle ain't so easy. You don't want to have to do it twice.

UPDATE: Disassembled the Garmin cigarette lighter power supply, put it in a plastic box and wired it into the motorcycle. Now have steady power.

Want Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Discount?

I have had this installed for about 6 weeks. It worked fine initially.

The installation had two issues that several others complained about. The thickness of the power and ground wires made it almost impossible to wire it into my 96 Accord using splices. The size of the box made it difficult to zip tie it to prevent it rattling or moving around.

3 days ago, my Nuvi 1350 started going into data mode before rebooting into map mode. This behavior was followed random reboots while on the road.

If you are going to purchase this item, make sure it is easy to access when it fails.

Bought this last winter and just got around to installing it. I was leery after reading the reviews, so I opened it up. One small phillips screw and the case pops open.

Inside I found a small circuit board, inexpensively made with through-hole components. I could see several capacitors and inductors that looked vulnerable to vibration. So I warmed up my hot-melt glue gun and potted all the components on the circuit board into place. Took about 5 minutes including re-assembly. Epoxy would have worked as well.

Installed it on my 74 Suzuki GT550 and so far, it works like a charm. Wouldn't fit inside the headlight shell but I was able to tuck it in behind the headlight bucket mounting ears and secure it using a couple of wire ties.

I found a plastic cap to protect the USB connector from the elements, and I strap the connector to the Nuvi mount when not in use.

Time and miles will tell how it holds up. The bike is an old two-stroke, without the benefit of modern suspension, so vibration will be a factor.

The cord that is connected to the micro USB bit that goes into the phone has separated and now it will only charge my phone if I hold in certain positions. Alcatel 871a Premium Quality Blue Led 12 Volt Socket Car Charger Adapter White

Alcatel 871a Premium Quality Blue Led 12 Volt Socket Car Charger Adapter White
  • Brand New IC Chip Controlled Plug in Car Charger
  • Modern Look With Blue Led
  • Conveniently charge your Alcatel 871a battery while your drive
  • Non interrupted charging, even while the Alcatel 871a is in use
  • Essential accessory in case of car accident or another emergency

Recently, I was forced to buy a new feature phone because sadly, my old one slipped from my shirt pocket when I bent over a bucket of scrub water to rinse a rag after mopping up muddy paw prints of eleven Saint Bernards. The one I chose was quite inexpensive but did not come with any chargers.

This is the one I chose for the car. The phone is a white Alcatel, and I was thrilled to find this charger to match it! The advantage is two-fold: 1. White electronic items are much, much easier to find when they are buried in the bottom of my purse. also easier to find at night on the floor or in the console of the car. and 2. The blue LED light is more visible than the old red one that was associated with my prior device. It actually gives off just enough light to help me find the right way around to insert the charger into the phone.

I don't know what is customary with these things, but it does a very good job of charging my phone quickly and thoroughly, and the cord is long enough that I can easily talk while it is charging.

BioLogic Bike Mount for iPhone (fits 3, 3G, 3GS)

BioLogic Bike Mount for iPhoneThe Biologic bike mount for iPhone 3GS is very sleek and attractive. It's well designed, engineered, and manufactured. The phone fits well in the case and the home button and the touch screen actually work through it. The volume buttons and sound switches are not accessible, but that's a small price to pay if it indeed is waterproof. I have not tested that yet. They even left a port for the camera lens, so if you have a time lapse video app on your iPhone, you can chronicle your ride. My only beef is that the entire thing is just a few chips of plastic and rubber. When you get it in your hands, the price of $55 feels way too high for what you are holding. The price needs to come down to the same as other iPhone cases (around $30) before I can recommend it. Also bear in mind that you have to take your iPhone out of its usual case to put it in the Biologic case. There is no extra room. That's a bit of a pain. Lastly, the bike mount bracket is entirely plastic and although well designed and simple, it looks like it won't stand up to repeated removal and reattachment. Hopefully Dahon will provide a replacement path for just that part. That would also help out if you have more than one bike, as I do, so I could get a extra mount bracket for each and move the case from bike to bike.

I have used the Biologic Mount now for a few months. The screen enables you to utilize all the functionality of the touchscreen which is great. However, the piece of plastic that snaps the lid on can come off if you hit a bump hard enough. The first time I hit a big pothole which was unavoidable the lid popped open and my iphone skid on the ground much to my horror. Testimony to the iphone as it remained relatively unscathed. The plastic components that snaps the lid shut should be revamped and made more secure to avoid this issue. As a security measure, I added a think rubber band around the base of the case to ensure the case would not pop open again. I usually ride for a couple of hours so I liked the fact that the iphone charger cable could be attached, and I actually ran the cable to a backup battery to extended the battery life of my iphone. It's a good design, but the case really needs to latch more securely to avoid having your iphone fall out midstream.

well, I should have believed in some of the reviews I read. On my first time out with my bike I hit a medium sized pothole and the cover popped open and launched my phone across the road... luckily I was able to retrieve it however only to find a smashed glass front. Of course Apple wants $199 to provide me with a replacement. Perhaps BioLogic will send me the $199 for a product that doesn't hold up under real circumstances? If you were using this on a stationary bike, it should work. If you plan on riding this in the "real" world I ABSOLUTELY advise a rubber band or velcro strap around the unit. Best of luck to you.

This was the best option I could find for mounting my Iphone to my motorcycle handlebars. I wanted something that would offer some water resistance and complete coverage for the phone, while allowing me to see and access the screen for navigation apps, ect. I would rate it five stars, if not for the cons listed below.

Pros:

-case is well designed and is easy to mount, provides decent protection

-holds steady at 70+mph on a naked motorcycle

-looks good and provides full 360 degrees of orientation

-can be adjusted easily while on the go

Cons:

-expensive for a plastic and rubber mount/case

-home button is held on with adhesive and could peel off

Overall, I am happy with this purchase. Amazon seller, safetycycle provided good service and fast, free shipping via USPS. USPS did crush the packaging, but the product inside was undamaged.

Really was looking forward to having a Bike mount for my iPhone. The plastic looks sturdy enough but nowhere near the what's required the bike mount itself is just a bad construction. Can just pull the the iPhone right off, has no security at all... DO NOT PURCHASE! Hoping Otter Cases comes up with something far better....

2-Piece Value Combo Pack Of Palm Treo Tungsten T5, Tungsten E2, LifeDrive, TX, Treo 650, Treo 700w,

2-Piece Value Combo Pack Of Palm Treo Tungsten T5, Tungsten E2, LifeDrive, TX, Treo 650, Treo 700w, Treo 700p,I originally gave these items a 5 star rating as they are cheap in price and have come back to update my review of these chargers after and month of use. The home chargers work great, I have 3 of them and have had no problems, but I have had problems with the car chargers. When removing the charger from 2 different vehicles the end snaps off inside the cig lighter receptacle and i have to fish the broken end out. It seems the plastic on the end is very thin that causes the problem.I am easy with removing them and have owned other brands of phones and chargers and this has happened with 2 different vehicles. The home chargers are fine but not happy at all with the car chargers.

The lighter adapter doesn't stay in the phone very well. It pulls out very easily. I tried to fix it, and I broke the charger. You get what you pay for. It might work for you. I guess it is worth it just to get the ac plug in. That worked fine.

Naztech Ultra Rapid Car Charger - Apple iPhone 3G/3GS

Naztech Ultra Rapid Car Charger - Apple iPhone 3G/3GSWe just finished a round trip of over 2000 miles and used the Naztech charger to power my iPhone continuously while listening to music, podcasts, audio books and making phone calls. I finished the trip with a fully charged battery. The five stars are predicated on the charger having a long life.

I keep one of these in each of my vehicles. Does exactly as advertised charges the phone. Although advertised for the 3G and 3GS, I use these on my iPhone 4 and have had no problems. A great value for the price.

I was very impressed with the price and fast shipping for this item. I'm also impressed with the product itself, it charges my phone quickly during my commute and is a good length. Got it for my iPhone 3 but it still worked with my iPhone 4, obviously.

Schumacher SC-1200A SpeedCharge 12/8/2 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Starter/Tester

Schumacher SC-1200A SpeedCharge 12/8/2 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Starter/TesterForgetting to remove the negative connector before storing my vehicle for the winter; the internal sytems and alarm drained the battery, and of course it was sulfated. This unit worked like a charm. The battery was down to 8 volts/15%. The SC-1200a properly began to charge, then desulfate, and slowly was able to get the battery back to 98% before I removed it to start the car. This took approximately 17 hours (700 CCA Battery), which isn't bad for a dead/sulfated battery using a charger costing less than $50. The plus is you can use it to maintain your battery on a vehicle you do not drive much. Keeping your battery charged above 98% can greatly extend the life. How long it will the charger last running 24/7? ...I do not know yet. I have only had it maintaining the battery for 3 weeks, but still no problems. It does have a cooling fan which probably should be cleaned/vacuumed occaisionally; and I've never felt the unit being hot to touch. Not sure what problem the first reveiwer had, or if the unit he had was defective or dropped before he purchased it. For a $50 charger which maintains and also desulfates a battery, you cannot beat it.

Stay far, far, far, away from this charger. I walked away from tested, good, low charge battery being charged on the 8amp setting connected to a 750CCA regular car battery and when I came back a couple hours later it was boiling and still trying to charge! I checked the charge voltage and it was at 16 volts (measured with a Fluke meter)! Bad, very bad, charger and not automatic or smart at all.

Buy Schumacher SC-1200A SpeedCharge 12/8/2 Amp Charger/Maintainer/Starter/Tester Now

I was hoping to find the Schumacher model 7000A 2/20 Amp charger to review, but this 1200A is just a variation on the same thing. Looks identical too. After reading bad reviews of Schumacher and Vector it's clear these companies can't do anything right. Seems any product that has a microprocessor is programmed by the incompetent. Let me tell you about Schumacher speed chargers.

They won't charge batteries that don't already have a significant charge. If your battery drops below 10 to 11 volts, forget it. You'd have to have a manual battery charger as backup for when this won't charge, which eliminates the need for this thing in the first place. The explanation from the company is that the charger has to feed off the voltage in the battery, blah, blah. The purpose of a battery charger is to charge batteries, period. Then I was lied to by the tech and told if I hold down a certain combination of buttons when plugging the unit in, it would go into manual 2A mode (where the processor doesn't decide it won't charge your battery), but I sat there on the phone with him doing just as he said, and turns out no such feature exists. The manual doesn't mention anything like that either.

The charger is totally unpredictable. It almost always goes into desulfate mode. It has never completed a charge after coming out of desulfate mode, but ends in an error. Needs to be unplugged and plugged back in to start charging again to "completion". However completion doesn't seem to get the battery to 100% power, more like 80%, if that. Sometimes it won't charge at 20A and drops down to 2A. Don't know why. And according to the manual, desulfate mode can take up to 10 hours. So much for speed charge. Need to get into your car and go somewhere? Well you may need to wait until the next day.

It has a retain mode where the charger can sit there and monitor your battery and charge when needed. Figured I'd just leave the thing on my car almost permanently. But those who programmed the thing don't understand setting upper and lower thresholds. What it should do is charge up to the upper threshold, then when the battery drops below the lower, it charges to the upper again. I therefore expected it to turn on once a day or whatever. Instead it's turning on and off every several seconds, with the fan and relay clicking on and off. That's a good way to ware out the unit in no time.

It has a 70A engine start feature just incase you don't have enough juice to quite start your car, but if the battery is low enough where the charger won't charge it, the engine start feature won't work either.

My last car battery was probably only 1.5 years old before it wouldn't even take a charge. I'm beginning to suspect the damn charger might be responsible. When going into desulfate mode for instance, I see the voltage climb up to well over 16 volts. I don't know if that's good for the battery.

The simple act of charging a battery can be turned into a stressful nightmare with this crappy charger. Stay far away from Schumacher. It's clear they can't build a realiable charger, nor does it appear they've actually tried out their own products before dumping them onto the public.

Have used this charger for A year to charge my boat batteries. Never completes A cycle without having to un-plug and restart. Charged battery overnite, and found battery was boiling. Had to replace. Bought new model(walmart) and returned old in same box, and still having same problems. My life depends on dependable power offshore. This charger is garbage, going to sell at fleamarket and get real operational charger.

Motorola Spirit GT Professional 4-Mile 1-Channel FRS Two-Way Radio

Motorola Spirit GT Professional 4-Mile 1-Channel FRS Two-Way Radio
  • Up to 4-mile range
  • 8 UHF business-exclusive frequencies
  • Single-channel operation with 38 subcodes
  • Rechargeable NiMH battery operate up to 9 hours
  • Advanced voice activation for hands-free operation

This is a decieving radio. You need a business FCC license for it so you must apply for it and state your business need for these radio's. Its better to stick with GMRS or FRS unless you want to violate FCC R&R and use them for non-business use. There are FCC listeners everywhere that monitor the use of these frequencies and I have returned these radios and switched to GMRS. The claim that you have a 4 to 5 mile range is in perfect conditions, using these radios for the short time I had them gave me only minimal range increase from my FRS radios I've previously used. Range is dependent on the antennae and battery strength.

GT Plus does everything the T280 does, but it is much harder to switch frequencies & channels. The T280 is a much better product at a lower price.

On the jobsite or in the workplace, professional two-way radios

provide instant communication with individuals or multiple groups.

Business communications made simple! The Spirit GT+ radio

is ideally suited for retail stores, restaurants, schools,

hospitals, event coordination, small businesses and more.

Special "wait-to-talk" feature requires that you wait for

all the other conversations from the other companies that

share your frequency to stop transmitting so you can talk.

Spirit® Professional two-way radios operate on business

radio frequencies, (not FRS) which adds to congestion on

the already overcrowded business radio service.

Not recommended for personal use.

Two channel operation allows twice as many users to

share the same frequencies with you and requires frequency

coordination with other companies in your area.

"Up to 4 mile range" means that you will recieve interference

and unwanted chatter from everybody else within a 4 mile radius.

Regardless of which 2 of the 8 frequencies you choose,

there will always be somebody telling you to "get off my channel!".

When you ask that person for their license information,

they will explain that "I don't need a license!".

When you explain the rules to them, they will argue

"your rules Do NOT apply to me!", then they will

start jammming you.

I bought these radios online a few years ago. Have used it since for weddings, road trips, ski trips, camping, vacation, cruises and in hotel rooms. The radio is great with ranges from 1-4 miles depending on the terrain you are in. Just used them up at Lake Tahoe and the range is great! We had friends in the registration lodge as we were on the other side of the mountain and could hear them fine!

Con: I can't tell what other Motorola models are compatible with the "Motorola Spirit GT Professional 2-Way Radio". Wish there was a list somewhere.
