Lenmar LIC511 Lithium-ion Camcorder Battery Equivelent to the Canon BP-511 Battery

Lenmar LIC511 Lithium-ion Camcorder Battery Equivelent to the Canon BP-511 BatteryI picked up a couple of these batteries as spares for my Canon digital camera (Powershot G5)--for the price of a single Canon battery.

Both have worked fairly well, although neither holds nearly the charge of the Canon batteries; I expect to get about 50 photos off of one, using a flash for about half, whereas the genuine Canon battery is good for 100 or more.

Also, one of the two no longer charges in external chargers; the contacts on the battery apparently don't quite connect well enough. I have to change that one in the camera.

Overall, if you want a spare battery, you can get two of these for what one Canon battery costs--but expect to get half the performance of the Canon battery, too.

Bought one of these a year ago. Works about the same as the Canon battery I got with the camera. I alternate between the Canon and the Lenmar batteries and haven't noticed any difference.

Unlike some of the other reviewers, I've had no problems with this battery...and I've had it over a year. I'm a pro photographer, so it has been recharged over and over and over and still holds a charge. Maybe it is better because I tend to totally drain my batteries before recharging? I also use this battery in the Dual Battery Grip alongside the Canon and other off brand batteries.

I bought this battery as a replacement for an old Canon BP511A. It lasted about a couple of months before it started not taking a charge. Complete waste of money.

Ive had it for a couple months now. I notice no difference between it and my canon bp511. My only gripe with it is its cheazy silver plastic color, but hey, who looks at your batteries?

Retractable Car Charger for Treo 650 700w 700p 700wx 680 750 Tungsten T5 E2 LifeDrive TX Black

Retractable Car Charger for Treo 650 700w 700p 700wx 680 750 Tungsten T5 E2 LifeDrive TX Black
  • Charge your phone when you're on the road. Why not use the time you spend in your car to make sure that your phone is ready to go?
  • The innovative retractable design with quick release button cuts down on travel bulk and ensures the portability of your cell phone without sacrificing functionality. No more tangled cable mess.
  • This car charger plugs into your car's cigarette lighter and charges your phone while you're driving.
  • Intelligent IC chip inside recognizes a fully charged battery and automatically switches to a saver mode to prevent overcharging and short circuit.
  • Plug never overcharges the battery.

I needed a replacement car charger for my Treo 750 because the brand of charger I previously had did not fit the socket of the Treo very well (it kept slipping out). Seeing that there were several inexpensive options available, I decided to buy several of them. This retractable charger was one of them.

On the good side, it does work -and it works better than the one I was previously using. It fits the bottom of my Treo nicely and does not slip out. Also on the plus side, it is quite inexpensive.

On the bad side, the retractable option does not work very well. The very first time I extended it I found it difficult to get to retract again. You can do it, but it takes a lot of effort and the frustration outweighs the value.

Another negative is that the main body of the charger is a universal piece, with an additional part included which matches it to your model of cell phone. The problem is that this small extra piece comes apart from the rest of the charger very very easily and is easily lost.

Given this, I am much happier with one of the other chargers I got which is non-retractable and does not have the separate piece to it.

Car Dashboard Video Camera Cam Accident DVR Full Hd Resolution , 2.0" Ltps TFT LCD Display

Car Dashboard Video Camera Cam Accident DVR Full Hd Resolution , 2.0' Ltps TFT LCD DisplayUnit turned off after 5 seconds. Internal battery would not charge. Manual impossible to understand. Ended up getting a Vacron for $300. After looking at other dashboard cameras, it appears that you won't get anything reliable until you get into the $300 range. The $29-$59 dashboard cameras all appear to be junk. Some people apparently get them working, but the vast number of bad reviews on most of them should have been a warning.

Suggest getting dashboard cameras that record in H.264 rather than AVI. AVI is "freeware" whereas for H.264, the manufacturer had to pay for that software which suggests that the rest of the system is equally high quality. If you don't really need a dashboard camera, any of them will work, but if you really want one you can depend on, you'll have to step up...

Just got it today. So far its working great. It took a little to learn the functions, nothing difficult. At the 640 setting the picture is clear, can read plate numbers. So far I'm impressed. I'm using a 2gig card, and am recording a total of 16 min in loop mode. I've ordered a larger card. So far I'm very happy, I will update after more testing. Thus far I would give the pic a 8, the sound a 6, and the mount a 5. At this point I would recomend this to a friend.

Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi

Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable for Garmin Nuvi
  • This unique hardwire power cable allows you to hardwire your Nuvi GPS receivers
  • Input range: 12 - 24V
  • Output range: 5V at 1A
  • Cable Length: 6 feet
  • Red wire is for positive

I installed this unit inside the headlight housing of my Yamaha V Star 950. After carefully studying the motorcycle wiring diagram, I learned there is a pre-wired connector for an optional light bar accessory. Since I wasn't using the accessory light circuit I determined it to the perfect location to tap into the motorcycle's electrical system. And the light circuit has power only when the engine is running so tapping in there will prevent the GPS from drawing power from the motorcycle battery when not in use.

There was just enough room inside my headlight housing to insert the 12V power transformer with the USB connector threaded out the back of the headlight housing. Next I plugged the USB connector into my GPS device mounted on the handlebar and cranked the engine. Viola!

I have no clue what would cause some GPS devices to switch into data mode. But my Nuvi 255 correctly switches from battery to direct current mode when the engine is running and switches back to battery power when the motorcycle engine is turned off.

Buy Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Now

Used this to power my Garmin Nuvi 760 & 765. Anyone with decent techincal skills will be able to intall this perfect. Connect the red wire to 12v switched power. And Black wire to ground. Make certain 12v source is switched power to prevent a battery draw. Which will kill the battery if the Nuvi is attached while the car is parked.

I ran the wire to the glove box to keep the garmin chagred and ready to go when i need to use it.

Read Best Reviews of Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Here

My GPS intermittently switched from charge to battery mode in use on the motorcycle--in other words, the power supply was intermittent. Then after proper installation and very little riding for three months it DIED. Checked the mini-USB connector: the metal shell was not connected to ground and two of the connector pins were shorted together. Also discovered the power cable is not shielded and has very light-gauge wires in it compared with the wiring out of the cigarette lighter charger that Garmin supplies. Cannot recommend this unit. Buy something better. Installation on a motorcycle ain't so easy. You don't want to have to do it twice.

UPDATE: Disassembled the Garmin cigarette lighter power supply, put it in a plastic box and wired it into the motorcycle. Now have steady power.

Want Garmin Nuvi Hardwire Cable (Mini-USB connector) for Garmin Nuvi Discount?

I have had this installed for about 6 weeks. It worked fine initially.

The installation had two issues that several others complained about. The thickness of the power and ground wires made it almost impossible to wire it into my 96 Accord using splices. The size of the box made it difficult to zip tie it to prevent it rattling or moving around.

3 days ago, my Nuvi 1350 started going into data mode before rebooting into map mode. This behavior was followed random reboots while on the road.

If you are going to purchase this item, make sure it is easy to access when it fails.

Bought this last winter and just got around to installing it. I was leery after reading the reviews, so I opened it up. One small phillips screw and the case pops open.

Inside I found a small circuit board, inexpensively made with through-hole components. I could see several capacitors and inductors that looked vulnerable to vibration. So I warmed up my hot-melt glue gun and potted all the components on the circuit board into place. Took about 5 minutes including re-assembly. Epoxy would have worked as well.

Installed it on my 74 Suzuki GT550 and so far, it works like a charm. Wouldn't fit inside the headlight shell but I was able to tuck it in behind the headlight bucket mounting ears and secure it using a couple of wire ties.

I found a plastic cap to protect the USB connector from the elements, and I strap the connector to the Nuvi mount when not in use.

Time and miles will tell how it holds up. The bike is an old two-stroke, without the benefit of modern suspension, so vibration will be a factor.

this item fits in a true "power point" port. i had previously bought another brand off of amazon, and though it did work it a cigarette lighter in my 80's truck, it was not long enough to work in my 2000's Honda power point. This one fits BOTH styles and seems to put out enough power to charge my digital media player and a Nintendo ds at the same time with no problems. Only weird thing is the media player thinks i plugged it into a computer instead of a usb charger.

UPDATE 3-14-13

unit quit working.the indicator light is still on showing power but it will not charge anything.I have tried many cables and all my usb devices, nada. EZOPower 'Apple Certified' Rapid Portable Rechargeable External Battery Pack Charger - 1600mAh / Black for Apple iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, 3G, iPod Touch Nano

  • Portable, slim, and light weight design. Real time LED battery status indicator.
  • Recharge backup battery by connecting USB cable to PC or wall outlet. Integrated microchip prevents overcharging. Package includes backup battery & micro-USB charging cable.

First thing you should know that other reviews are crazy. The one with one star must of been defective because it still works great and charging is a piece of cake. The other one has an otterbox on it so of course it wouldn't stay on but he is extremely right in how powerful it is. I have a 4th generation iPod touch and the battery had almost two full charges and at least what I noticed, it does charge a little bit faster than the normal charging USB. I highly recommend buying this, it's a little pricy but with quality there's going to be a little extra spent. It's worth it though!

I use an Otterbox for my iPhone and the battery would not fit with Otterbox on. It kept falling out. It would be nice if a cable was offered to connect battery to the iPhone or had a longer neck on the battery to compensate for the Otterbox which most (I would assume) have to protect their phones.

Powerfilm WeatherPro 15V 200mA Flexible Solar Panel PT15-30

Powerfilm WeatherPro 15V 200mA Flexible Solar Panel PT15-30Got this solar panel to power my 12v system for my fishing kayak. It is a very nice product, encased in thin plastic film making it flexible so I could stick it to the bow of my kayak. I use this to provide charge to the small 12v battery I keep in the airtight compartment. I have a bilge pump, led lights, 12v cigarette adapter and a spot light installed so far. This panel by far gets a lot of attention and questions about it, more so than the kayak itself.

Xantrex Charge Controller for DC Charging Sources - 35 Amp, Model# C35

Xantrex Charge Controller for DC Charging Sources - 35 Amp, Model# C35The Xantrex C35 is the best charge controller I've ever had! My last controller was a Coleman Air C40, and it was working fine running a total of 25 watts of panels. Then I hooked up a 100 watt panel and the little dinky controller went crazy; constantly disconnecting the source and costing me precious power. I went ahead and bought the Xantrex C35 and it's MUCH better. Not only is it COMPLETELY solid state (the old controller had a dinky auto relay), but it has the 3 stage charging. That REALLY sped things up. I know from experience that other controllers either turn the source on or off, and only judge by the battery VOLTAGE. The C35 did a fabulous job of monitoring both voltage and amperage. The 3 stage charging has litterally changed the way it charges the battery. Plus, it includes the pulse-width modulation. What this does is send the power to the battery in high-voltage bursts (thousands per second). This "shocks" the plates and helps keep them clean from sulfate buildup. Then there's the equalization. I have mine set to auto, and it's working great, cleaning the battery bank for me about once a month.

I would love to get the remote meter on it ASAP!!

The other thing about this controller is how easy it is to change the pentometer settings. Litterally 4 screws and your in.

One thing they don't mention in the description is the auto-off at night. If you're using a PV array, it will automatically disconnect the array at night so NO electricity leaks back from the batteries (even with diodes installed). In the morning, as soon as it detects electricity from the panals, it will turn back on.

In conclusion, being able to control the current and voltage going into the battery really made me spring for this one. The durable construction and easy controls make it the best controller I've reviewed! I would recommend it to anyone starting with solar, wind, and hydro. If it's too small for you, there's the C40 and C60, which are almost identical.

I bought this a little while ago but now I finally have it installed. It was exactly what I needed for my barn. It was easy to wire and the instruction manual solved all of the issues you could ever imagine. I had my led light in backwards and that was in the troubleshoot. Xantrex seems like a good company to deal with in my opinion. Right now I just have one 7 amp panel so I have plenty of room to grow with this. I can't wait to add on the digital display. and I will probably go with a xantrex inverter too.

Buy Xantrex Charge Controller for DC Charging Sources - 35 Amp, Model# C35 Now

Perfectly designed and built. It does EXACTLY what it's supposed to do: Charge and maintain your expensive batteries. Totally automatic and no need for bells and whistles. All the quality is inside the box. I've purchased more than 20 over the years for solar installations and never had a problem with any of them. The instruction manual is extensive and well written. There are units out there with cute led readout displays and flashing lights however, they are mostly plastic, under-rated and flimsy in construction. The Xantrex units are built for safe and automatic charging of your expensive solar panel/battery installation. The connection lugs/terminals are large enough to get a good connection with wires as low as 4 gauge, making the installation clean and capable. Install it and forget it. I like that. I give it a 10.

Read Best Reviews of Xantrex Charge Controller for DC Charging Sources - 35 Amp, Model# C35 Here

The only drawback is no digital readout. there is one available for it but it nearly doubles the

price. A digital readout is not a necessity. A blinking light tells you the battery's general

state of charge and you can always check every thing with a volt meter.

The ability to adjust float and charge voltages, and a equalization mode (All important for

long-term battery health) make this controller an excellent buy

Want Xantrex Charge Controller for DC Charging Sources - 35 Amp, Model# C35 Discount?

I bought the c40 charge controller in August 2011 for use on a small solar system. It replaced a c35 that I had used for at least 10 years.

Since installing the new controller I have had minor but continuing problems with the batteries. At the end of the day when I would expect the voltage to be at about 12.6 it was usually 12.3 or 12.2. Finally, I got two digital voltmeters and used each to measure the voltage of the batteries at rest. The readings from each one were about 0.4 volts higher than the meter on the c40. When the battery is close to fully charged the voltage on the c40 meter is at the set point of the potentiometer in the c40. So it is not clear to me whether this means the charger was overcharging the batteries or charging them properly and simply reporting the voltage incorrectly.

All this is irrelevant to the point I want to make. I'd like to find out an answer to my question but as far as I can tell Xantrex doesn't even provide on-line support or even a FAQ sheet for this controller (or any other). In fact, it is not even clear from their website that they even sell this item.

If it weren't for this rather important deficiency in Xantrex's product service I'd give the charger four or five stars. But because of the apparent absence of any support I give it three or two.

Ok so I got something similar that directly put my GPS on power sync mode so I was unable to use while driving. But here's a trick that might work depending on your GPS.

Turn on you car, plug the charger in your car (in the cigarette lighter adapter) but don't plug it to your GPS yet.

Turn on your GPS, when you see the battery sign on the top right of your screen (the sign that shows how much battery is left) touch that sign for about 8 seconds, your GPS should turn to diagnostic mode, plug your charger to the GPS then press exit, your GPS should now work as usual!

You will have to do this every time, but it only takes a few seconds to do all this....

Hope this helps...

I've used a data logger to look at battery voltage under load, and I've compared MK gel batteries, Optima Yellowtops (from a local distributor), and Odyssey PC1500s. I have also seen other people using Interstate AGMs, and other "deep cycle" batteries for the same application, and have seen the trouble they've had with them.

Compared to gel batteries, the Yellowtops provide a lot of power, and feel more "peppy" regardless of if they're full or nearly empty. This is a big "pro" for people who need their chairs to perform at their full potential, but potentially a "con" if you don't pay attention to how discharged the batteries are, since they hold up well enough that you can run them down to a really deep discharge and prematurely shorten their life. I found that if you're not careful, don't take any precautions to keep them fully charged, and use them hard, you can kill them in six months.

These batteries can easily charge at 20 amps and higher, similar to the Odysseys, and better than any gels. If you keep them topped up and charge them above 28.8 volts (14.4 each, two in series) whenever you use them, and don't run them down till the chair slows down, you can get well over a year of power soccer use out of them.

They are a little smaller than other batteries, both mechanically and in terms of stored energy. They rattle around inside a Group 24 battery box, which can be a little disturbing, and they don't last as long on a charge as a set of Odyssey PC1500. They also don't hold up for as many cycles under the same use as the PC1500 because you're using a larger portion of their capacity, and lead batteries don't hold up well under that treatment.

In summary: If you're on a tight budget but want something better than gels, if these are on sale then the Yellowtops are what you want. If you really need the best, step up to the Odyssey PC1500. Also, don't forget to use a proper three stage charger that terminates the CV portion above 14.4 volts and below 14.8 volts.

Sales people will tell you "Yellowtops aren't for wheelchairs" or "Odyssey batteries aren't for wheelchairs", but that's BS. Pay attention to charging, don't trust the joystick lights, and these things are fabulous for high performance chairs.

I bought this battery through Autozone (that way I wouldn't have to worry about any type of weird warranty exchange through amazon). Eventhough i love amazon, i HIGHLY encourage buying this battery through an approved seller, that way, if your battery needs warranty exchange, you can just drop off and replace easy.

You can get this battery IF:

-You're going to use this on a vehicle which requires power to start (any auto)

-You may have sources of accessory power that have potential to drain the battery (light use power inverter)

You SHOULD get this battery IF:

-You HAVE sources that can draw lots of accessory power:

--Subwoofer/amp

--Ambient lighting

--Added lighting

--high use power inverter

--Lots of off-roading (vibration is VERY bad for an acid battery)

Conditions that required myself to buy this battery:

-HID lighing

-Complete interior with LED lighting

-Added ambient lighting

-Added door lighting (2005 Ford F150)

-1000W Amp/Sub

First thoughts:

After install, the first start takes a few seconds longer than any start I've had with preceding batteries. Of course, I had a lower CWA than the previous batteries, so that was probably it. After the first start and all the parts had power again, every start was clean, perfect and, dare I say, better than previous batteries.

The drain on my battery from peripherals (with the vehicle not on) is CONSIDERABLY less than previous batteries. I have no tested, nor want to test a heavy drain on the battery, but, since this battery can actually handle the drain without damage.

So far the battery is superb, and offers a lot of power to my accessories. Previously, when the sub hit hard (I have no capacitor, too lazy) the lighting would slightly dim. NO MORE! Very excited.

I'll keep this review updated periodically with any news on the performance of this battery!

Optima were an excellent battery in the 1990's and early 2000's. The batteries they built and sold in that era would easily last ten years. But in the last eight or nine years, they have lowered the quality level in their batteries to the point that they barely make it past the warranty period. I am now stuck with two gel-cel boat anchors, which died six weeks after the warranty period. That is almost $400. Both were lightly used in race cars that saw the track 12 times per year. That is 36 Sundays of use for each battery. And to top it all off, I now must pay hazardous recycling fees to get rid of these boat anchors. I will not be buying Optima brand products again.

Optima Batteries 8002-002 34 RedTop Starting Battery

Optima Batteries 8002-002 34 RedTop Starting BatteryGreat for vehicles that sit. Discharge rate is a fraction of a regular lead acid battery.

I bought the red top in July, 2009, for a kit car I am building. Just got around to installing in car and find it will not hold a charge. Contacted Optima for their help under their 3 year free replacement (also shown on Amazon web page) guarantee. Optima says Amazon is not an authorized seller of their products (even though there are thousands of their batteries listed on Amazon), and they could not do anything for me. Amazon says the battery cannot be returned to them or replaced. What do you think is going on here? Smells like fraud on someone's part to me. Was promised a call back from an Amazon supervisor, but nothing yet.

Update, after discussions with two customer service reps. and a supervisor, Amazon has agreed to honor the warranty from Optima. They will reimburse me the cost of the battery and I can then order another one. Not sure why they could not just send me a replacement. But, I am getting another one, and that is all I wanted.

PURCHASED THE OPTIMA BATTERY BECAUSE OF THE GREAT REVIEWS. AMAZON PRICE WAS ABOUT 40 TO 50 DOLLARS CHEAPER THAN I COULD GET IN TOWN, PLUS NO TAX. PREVIOUSLY HAD TWO DURALAST GOLD BATTERIES THAT LASTED LESS THAN A YEAR WITH MY 7.3 DIESEL ENGINE. ID RATHER SPEND A LITTLE MORE $$ THAN DEAL WITH THE AGGRAVATION OF BEING STRANDED SOMEWHERE. LETS HOPE THESE BATTERIES LIVE UP TO THEIR REPUTATION.

I bought these batteries for a 2004 Dodge truck with the Diesel engine. One of the stock batteries split open at the negative post. The other was about to split. Both stock batteries were leaking acid. I bought the Optima batteries based on my experience with never having one leak acid, break, or clean corrosion around the post. The new Optima batteries are working fine, will see how they do five years from now.

Thanks,

Adonis

Brinkmann 800-2705-0 1 Million Candle Power 12 Volt DC Spotlight with Cigarette Lighter Adapter

Brinkmann 800-2705-0 1 Million Candle Power 12 Volt DC Spotlight with Cigarette Lighter AdapterThe description says it is a 1 million candlepower and it is only 980 lumens. One lumen is 12.57 candlepower, that means this light is only 12,318 candle power. That is a far cry from one million!

If anything, this light is too bright if thats possible. It does get a little hot so keep it away from other items. I have melted some things that were too close for too long.

shipped in one piece works as expected and is a very bright light, only time will tell if it was a good buy, so far so good!

Samsung SPH-M300 M300 SPH-M510 M510 SGH-T409 T409 Rapid Car Charger with IC Chip

Samsung SPH-M300 M300 SPH-M510 M510 SGH-T409 T409 Rapid Car Charger with IC ChipThe order promptly reached my house. I am pretty happy with it. Hassle and haggle free online shopping.

Yes, it does what it is advertised to do but it is also poorly made and easily broken. However, it is cheap and if you take care when using the adapter, especially when removing the plug from the phone, it will work and continue to do so. You really do get what you pay for.

not much to say, it's a car charger with a proprietary connector; as long as you researched your purchase you should be be golden.

the item was as described, and was received promptly; I've purchased from Bargincell previously and will not hesitate to do so again.

Will only work for a short time and then it dies. Its lifespan was only about six weeks. Buy the name brand product.

This is a good charger for the money. The only thing I do not like about it is that with genuine samsung accessories the arrow which shows you which end to insert up is yellow, making it very visible. On this charger the arrow is black, making it difficult to plug in in a dark car. Otherwise a great product and it works well, and I rely on it more now that my daughter lost her home charger and stole mine. I mostly have to charge in the car or while attached to the computer, and this charger has not failed me yet.

SkyMaster 7- Inch Mini RC Remote Control Helicopter, 4 Channel Infrared Remote Control Built-In Gyr

SkyMaster 7- Inch Mini RC Remote Control Helicopter, 4 Channel Infrared Remote Control Built-In Gyroscope with Metal and Plastic Frame, Multiplayer Up To 3 HelicoptersI have bought four of these little Skymaster 777s and they rule. Super stable, very responsive to controls. They scoot along in forward motion pretty quickly and they jink from side to side using the controller shoulder buttons. These little guys are the best indoor helicopters out therethe Syma S107 is junk in comparison. No joke. They've also got an awesome LED in the tail that alternates blinking from red to blue and a white LED in the nose is so bright you can fly around dark rooms and it's like the thing is a floating MAG LITE. I can't recommend this model enough!

This is my third office helicopter I also have the Syma S107 and the JXD Drift King. I had the highest hopes for this one, but sadly, it is the least flyable of the three. It does have one more channel/direction of control than the S107 (and the same as the Drift King), but the control logic is flawed, making it very unstable.

If you're new to gyroscopic helicopters, they generally all have spinning weights on a balance bar, which is connected by a link system to the main rotor. The main rotors are generally dual-rotors on concentric, hollow shafts, and each is geared to it's own motor. The gyro system, when the links are correctly attached, and the when the rotors are trimmed to the same speed, makes the helicopter somewhat stable, the same way a spinning gyroscope has stability. A tail rotor, pointed upward, gives forward/aft control. These design features are all incorporated into the SkyMaster.

Where the SkyMaster differs from most other mini RC models, however, is the plastic molded sponsons on each side, each of which houses a fan for side movement (strafing).

--Controls are as follows--

*Left stick increase and decrease main rotor speed. This increases or decreases altitude. Unlike the S107, there is no return spring on the main rotor stick, so when you release the lever, it stays at the same throttle setting. You can decide if this is a feature or a bug. I prefer a spring.

*Right stick L/R Differential speed of main rotors. This yaws the helicopter (by slowing down either the top or bottom rotor and speeding up the other to maintain lift).

*Right stick up/down tail rotor. Fwd pitches the nose down, causing the main rotor to pull the heli forward.

*Left and right buttons (at top of controller) Activate sponson motors, rolling the heli, in turn causing the heli to slide left or right.

Controller also includes trim and three-channel selector.

--Pros--

Heli strafes. Three-channel helis cannot do this, and tend to be unstable in sliding left to right when precise control is desired. For instance, landing on a CD or small book. Strafe control is better with sponson fans than with the Drift King "bent shaft" style helicopters. Way better. The S107 doesn't strafe at all at least not intentionally.

The SkyMaster is less prone to IR interference from fluorescent lights. The S107 won't run in my office unless the lights are off. (The Drift King is almost invulnerable to the lights in the office.)

This chopper spins FAST. The yaw rate is about 2-3 times faster than other 8" birds. This is both a pro and a con, because while it looks cool and spins really quickly, it makes it hard to turn to a specific heading without overshooting or undershooting.

Cooler lights than the other two choppers. The S107 has a red/blue flasher on front. Lame. The Drift King has a bunch of random, erratic, multicolored lights. Just confusing. The SkyMaster has a red/blue flasher pointed down from the tail motor, and a VERY bright white LED facing forward. And there's another red LED on the gears. Legit.

Metal fins. The other helicopters have plastic fins on the tail gussets and at the tail "rudder." However, the stamped steel bends in a crash, so I expect it to last just about as long as the plastic ones before it gets strain-hardened and breaks off.

The balance bar's motion is limited. This is good. On both the S107 and Drift King, if you rotate the helicopter too quickly while the main rotor is spinning (which generally means manipulating the helicopter with your hand, as it cannot generally do this on its own), then the balance bar will slam into the lower rotor. This damages the leading edge of the blade, in addition to quickly ending the current flight. On the SkyMaster, the balance bar cannot pivot far enough to hit the lower rotor. So you can hold down full throttle with the helicopter in your hand, and rotate it in every possible direction, and the weights will never hit the blades.

--Cons--

The SkyMaster vibrates badly. Out of the box, the main shaft on my heli was unbalanced, so it makes the sponsons vibrate wildly.

Heli is very unstable. The main problem is with the yaw axis. If you command full left or right spin, instead of slowing one rotor down and speeding the other up, it completely shuts off power to one rotor. It seems to maintain altitude during the yaw, but as soon as you let off the spin, it tries to restore the original spin rates to the rotors, but it doesn't gradually lower the power to the fast rotor the result, after a super quick spin, it drops out of the air.

Not enough tail authority. The tail fan (and motor) are undersized, so it doesn't pitch the helicopter enough to move forward quickly, and it barely reverses at all. The Drift King wins in this area, with a bitchin' turbo mode where the tail has so much authority that it sometimes overpitches the chopper and causes the balance bar to hit the main rotor, resulting in an immediate crash.

Additionally, the signal from the controller seems laggy, so it behaves as if the controls are sticky. You stop pressing forward on the stick, but it takes a second to respond. Sounds trivial, but it's really annoying to deal with, and makes precise control almost impossible.

The legs for the skids are not removable, in contrast to the other two models. One fall from > 5 feet will give you a permanent low-weight mod, since the skids will stay on the ground on your next takeoff. But then you can't ever replace them, since they are molded to the body that holds the circuit board.

In summary, if you want a basic helicopter, get the S107, as it's less expensive and more stable. If you want to fly sideways, your choice is between the SkyMaster and the Drift King. This model has slightly better strafe control and authority, but the Drift King has better overall control and maneuverability. And the Drift King doesn't drop out of the sky every time it spins.

i bought one of these and it is a lot of fun, i looked forward to mastering it. The problem is the plastic component on the main rotor that stabilizes the upper rotor to the gyro broke(easily) and it is difficult to find replacement parts. So I have an expensive paper weight.

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter. Between her and my husband, this was a huge success as a Christmas gift. The two of them are working together on how to steer it better and what tricks can be done...each trying to out do the other. So much fun to watch!
