Power Bright VC200W Voltage Transformer 200 Watt Step Up/Down converter 110/120 Volt - 220/240 Volt
Addendum April 2011: After three years of use now, it still works fine and I haven't had to replace any fuses yet. But you have to be aware of the wattage on the appliances you are plugging into it. I just saw some of the reviews with lower ratings on this item saying it doesn't work, starts smoking, fuses blow immediately etc. Please be aware that this transformer is limited to 200 Watts only, and you probably don't want to max that out either to stay on the safe side. Find out how many Watts you are plugging into it before you turn it on and keep in mind 200 is fairly low. If you have larger wattage items you will need to invest your money into a transformer that can handle that.
You can probably safely run the following items using this transformer: clock radio, electric blanket, laptop, a small TV, radio, VCR/DVD, Xbox, PS2, Wii. You may hit the limit and ask for trouble with desktop computers, Hi-Fi equipment, Xbox 360, PS3, LCD or plasma TVs you may want to get a 500W transformer for those. You will almost certainly blow the fuses if you try to run: any sort of kitchen appliance, power tools, vacuum cleaner, hair dryer, iron. You need something much more heavy duty for those items.I bought a couple of these on moving from London to NYC, and they work fine. My one complaint would be that the clearance below the UK plug socket is not huge, so the cord coming out the bottom of the plug has to bend sharply to avoid the surface the transformer rests on. It's not a big issue though, and we've been using them for a couple of months with no problems. Don't throw away the replacement fuses that come with it, though; I've already had to replace one of them.Got this to power an old computer from the 90s; it was a UK version so it needed a 220V to function.
The setup is very simple; just keep an eye on the input current, unless you wanna cause problems (there is a selector in the back, it goes from 110 to 220V, so you cover the whole globe).
The unit itself is noiseless; you hear no buzzing at all; if you touch it while on is cold, and has a very minimal buzzing that you can just feel if you put your hand on the top of the unit.
I kept it on, powering the computer (which uses about 100W), for a couple of hours, and had no issues. I saw many negative comments but they were made by people not very tech savvy....you need to know the basics of the power load that you can apply to a transformer, otherwise you will just overload it and burn it.
This will be enough to power anything that is below 150W and 10A; don't use it with higher power consumption items or you will overload it.
The cons are the weight; which is out of this world, if you are planning to travel and put it in your bag, and the very short power cable. Also keep in mind that the 220V plug in the front is very flimsy; so use care when you plug something in or unplug it.After reading reviews on bad experiences with the transformers, I decided to buy this 200W transformer even though my sewing machine takes up 100W theoretically. (Do P (Watts)=I (max current of your device) *V (your device voltage 110V/220V... ))
It's been nearly two months now and it has worked fine for me. So I'm quite pleased with it.
Latest update (12 March 2013): Recently I found out that the speed of my sewing machine increased quite a bit. I'm not sure if this is related to the transformer. It makes the sewing machine shake quite a bit even if I pressed the pedal very gently.i bought it for my sewing machine and is doing an excellent job, small and not heavy, it's what I needed

Premium Deluxe Rapid Travel Car Charger Adaptor with Intelligent IC chip for Cell Phones with Micro
- Deluxe Car Charger is the ultimate solution for cellular phone users.
- Intelligent IC chip prevents overcharge and overheats on the cellular phone unit
- Vehicle Lighter Adaptor (12-24v DC)
- Rapid Charger for your cell Phones
- Stylish design with flat cord Flexible and less tension
I purchased 3 of them all 3 went bad! Used each one for about a month each! The problem is in the cord itself, the wire must break inside the cord & loose connection, I do not pull or stress the cord in any way, they were only used a few times a week! The company will not warranty them passed 30 days!!!!!!!!!
These chargers also have a very short cord length!Looked good, worked well for exactly 6 days of our 7 day road trip, then the tip fell apart, revealing the wires underneath. Very poor quality.Hey why pay 20 or more bucks for a charger from a big box store, which for the most part is made in China and will only last a little bit longer, just buy a few of these and keep one in every car you own. I have only had 1 fail (wont charge). for the price I have several more.

Purchased these walkie talkies for a cross country trip. We used them to communicate between two cars on a trip lasting 4 days from Oregon to Arkansas. The batteries lasted a reasonable length of time and the sound quality was great. Did encountered other people on the channel we were using, but it was no problem to switch to another channel. Cannot comment on the maximum range since we were never more than a mile apart. This turned out to be a great buy and do recommend this product, particularly for the way we used them. While these radios came highly recommended, and they do indeed work as advertised, I cannot seem to get the batteries recharged. The first problem is that the radio's display does not indicate if the batteries are charging or when they are fully charged. I emailed Cobra about the problem. Their recommendation was this: The radios should be 'OFF' while charging. The initial charge is 15 hours. Once fully charged you can keep them off of the charger during the day, charge back at night. You can use any other rechargeable battery, just score about 1/4 inch from of the plastic to expose the silver part of the batteries. Take a look at the batteries your radios came with. You need to have the other batteries look similar as far as the silver part of the battery showing at the bottom so you will need to remove some of the plastic from the battery.I have followed the recommendations, and the batteries do not charge. I have sent Cobra another email, and I am going to try some Energizer batteries to see if they work. I don't mind working through a problem with a company, and Cobra has been very friendly and helpful. However, it seems to me the lower end priced Cobra's are going to have problems based on other Amazon reviews.

I got these to use when i paintball and they are amazing they work in the snow and they are just awesome to use for car trips also and i give one to my little cousin when he walks home and i know he's safe that wayI purchased these walkie talkies, for use at Wal Mart while shopping, so I could find my wife at times, works good, also use them to carry with me when I walk the dog, and they do fine then too. I haven't used these walkie's over a mile yet and they work fine, don't really know how much distance you could get from them, but I live in a mountainous region and lots of hills, so, probably couldn't get much distance , but works fine for me.Saturday, August 16, 2014
Retractable Rapid Car Charger with IC Chip for T-Mobile HTC G1 Smartphone
Bottom line, It's acceptable quality, and not bad for how cheap it is. Just wish it would start charging on the first plug in every time.
Long Version:
This is one of the nicest retractable chargers I've purchased. It suffers from being only of acceptable quality though.
It is loose in the car power adapter port, and requires between 3 and 5 times of plugging it in and out and into the phone and back out to get it to convince the phone its there. An annoyance but once its working it stays working and doesn't usually get knocked loose and stop charging your phone.
Very bright blue LED shows when it is receiving power, retraction mechanism is well above average for these chargers.I was looking for a economical charger for my phone, so I chose this one. It worked fine for about a week and then it shorted out. Not sure what the problem was. I ended up having to purchase a charger from the cell phone dealer anyway.

I bought this Retractable Rapid Car Charger with IC Chip for T-Mobile HTC G1 Smartphone to charge my G1 in my car. The product itself looks nice and the retractable cord is amazing, BUT IT DOES NOT WORK AT ALL! When I plugged it into my car, the charger got real hot and started smoking!! I unplugged it to avoid a fire and tried again the next day, ONLY TO FIND THAT IT DID NOT WORK AT ALL!I guess I could've realized that nothing good could possibly come out of a phone charger with a super thin cord like this one. Most chargers out there have a 10mm 15mm thick cord, while this one has a 2mm thick cord.
My advice to all: Don't waste your money on this. Buy a real charger.

Cardo Scala Rider Rider Teamset Pro SRTS0102
I bought the Cardo unit a bit on impulse but as soon as I charged up the units and installed the mics and earphones we took it out for a test ride. It worked great.
I can't comment on the cell phone functionality, I'm not yet ready to think about using a cell phone on a motorcycle, I only rarely use it in car. And I have not used the iPod with it yet so I'll add that later. I can say that as an intercom from rider to passenger it works just like being on the phone, it's clear and even at 75mph on the freeway on a Harley with a nice exhaust drone it was very easy for us to hear each other.
If you are in the market for a unit like this I would recommend giving this one a try. Be foreward however it will change the dymanics of your ride :-)Up to 90 Km/hr you can hear preaty well; but at 120 Km/hr you can hear 70%
Maybe the helmets make to much noise.

This is a great jump box, I bought it for my daughter's school as some peoples batteries were dying when waiting to pick up the kids. It is easy to use, is a perfect size, and the cables are plenty long enough to get the job done easily.I like the fact that the jump box doesn't use an AC adapter to charge it, as these are easily lost, instead you can use any 2 or 3 prong extension cord, however this is not included so be prepared to buy one if you don't already own one. I picked one up at the local grocery store for 2 bucks, not a big deal.

Business communications made simple! The Spirit GT+ radio
is ideally suited for retail stores, restaurants, schools,
hospitals, event coordination, small businesses and more.
Special "wait-to-talk" feature requires that you wait for

share your frequency to stop transmitting so you can talk.
Spirit® Professional two-way radios operate on business
radio frequencies, (not FRS) which adds to congestion on
the already overcrowded business radio service.
Not recommended for personal use.
Two channel operation allows twice as many users to
share the same frequencies with you and requires frequency
coordination with other companies in your area.
"Up to 4 mile range" means that you will recieve interference
and unwanted chatter from everybody else within a 4 mile radius.
Regardless of which 2 of the 8 frequencies you choose,
there will always be somebody telling you to "get off my channel!".
When you ask that person for their license information,
they will explain that "I don't need a license!".

I bought these radios online a few years ago. Have used it since for weddings, road trips, ski trips, camping, vacation, cruises and in hotel rooms. The radio is great with ranges from 1-4 miles depending on the terrain you are in. Just used them up at Lake Tahoe and the range is great! We had friends in the registration lodge as we were on the other side of the mountain and could hear them fine!Con: I can't tell what other Motorola models are compatible with the "Motorola Spirit GT Professional 2-Way Radio". Motorola Spirit Two-way radio. Distance line of site a least 4 miles. Obstructed: varies, but 2 miles in town. Battery capacity 10 hrs with 10/90 usage. Climate compatable between 20 degrees and 96 degrees. Light weight and comfortable to use.

Schumacher SE-1275A Automatic Onboard Battery Charger
If I could change anything about it, I would suggest adding readable instructions to the back of the cabinet, a longer electrical supply cord (one or two extra feet would be perfect), and a larger analog meter.Well Made. Does what it's supposed to.Customer service is non existent !
You get an answering machine, and never receive a return call, ever !
The Documents leave out MANY ways that this item will respond to charge levels and charge cycles of various batteries, so it's off to the internet or trial and error if your unit does something that you don't understand. One of the tricks to this charger is to start out on 2 amp for about an hour, then raise up to 15 amp. When the charger reads full charge at 15 amps, drop to 2 amp and top the battery off for a full charge. It will take about 6 hours to charge a depleted battery.
The jump start barely started my car,but it did the trick, and it's a very hard to start car that sometimes won't jumpstart, so I was impressed.
It helps to charge a very dead battery for about 15 minutes before you jump start it with this unit.
For the price, everyone should own one of these. It's a great product, who's only MAJOR FLAW is the embarrassing lack of customer service. Schumacher Management should be ashamed of themselves.

Heavy steel and copper. Thats what counts in a charger and this one has both. Don't buy the lightweights from China. Made in Mexico, but its an old standby US design.OKAY its a year later... this one died early on they sent a new one after I retutned the bad one. That one died too. They quickly sent another without any return needed, and the rep sounded like he was Po'd at his company for allowing so much junk to go out the door. Now I have two working and one dead for spare parts, and even after the hassle these are still the most for the least on the market. You only other option is sears, and they appear to be made by Schumaker also, or harbor freight which should send its electric stuff with a death certificate.

Just got it today. Tried to start the car with it, but it wasn't enough juice, so I waited about three minutes with it set on 75A engine start mode. Started it successfully after that. Ran the car for 5 minutes. Turned off the engine and tried to start the car without the device. Success. Now it's charging in the garage. Looks good so far. I agree with the previous review that the extension cord is too short.Wednesday, April 16, 2014

Xantrex Power Inverter - 1000 Watt, Model# XM 1000
The models I own and use daily are my oldest in the fleet from xantrex (prosine 1000) Xantrex Technologies Prosine 1000 Prosine 1,000 to 1,500-Watt Power Inverter, their newer, true sine lower cost model the prowatt SW1000 Prowatt SW1000 1000W True Sinewave Inverter and the most recent low cost true sine 1000W that can't do 1000W from sunforce Sunforce 11240 1000-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter with Remote Control. I've used these extensively in remote power operation of tools and equipment where no AC was available in service vehicles.
This model from Xantrex is atypical in that it produces "modified sine wave" power instead of "true sine wave power" like most of thier inverters. The end result to you is that some devices don't mind modified sine wave power, while others can be destroyed by it. Typically modified sine wave power is alot cheaper to produce than true sine wave power, but items with coils like florescent ballasts, transformers, even the big heavy wall transformers will overheat quickly between an hour and 3 hours. Motors run hot and prolonged use will burn them out, but in an RV say a coffee grinder is only run for a few seconds and doesn't suffer any damage from the modified sine wave. Other sensitive devices are clocks which see the sudden voltage change instead of the smooth voltage change of a sine wave as being a zero crossing, so they count the extra 2 steps in making the waveform as seconds and run 2, 3, or even 6 times faster than normal depending on the clock and inverter. Audio devices powered by 110V like clock radios, ipod adapters with speakers, stereos, all lack filtering for the odd harmonics of 60hz such as 180 hz, 300 hz, 420 hz, and on up. When run from modified sine waves these sound like alot of low frequency hum is comming out.
You can research "modified sine wave" on google to further pursue it's good points and bad points, but for this review just know it's NOT the same as what comes from your house outlet or a generator.
Also understand that any inverter of this size requires 1/2 1.5 Amps just idle. In the Xantrex pro-sine series they installed a powersave function that when not being used (i.e. all 117VAC stuff is off) the inverter checks every 2 seconds to see if anything was switched on, and if so it stays running until the load is switched off. This helps to maximize your runtime on battery and the prosine units can be ordered with the automatic cutover feature offered in this inverter. The sunforce unit has another cute trick a keyfob transmitter that turns the inverter on/off manually.
The good news about these inverters is that its an optimal switching point for an RV. It can take input power from an RV park or generator and when that is lost because the cord is pulled or the genset runs out of fuel, the inverter kicks in automatically and takes the load. This is a major plus for RV use where power may come from many sources or none at all sometimes.
When producing power from battery I recommend investing in the optima D31M blue top deep cycle battery or 2 in parallel so as to maximize runtime Optima Batteries 8052-161 D31M BlueTop Dual Purpose Battery. These can be drained without damage to the battery while a normal battery may only tolerate total discharge a dozen times in its life before fallout from plate damage collects at the bottom and shorts out 1 cell ruining the battery. I recommend 2 batteries in parallel to share the load because if you approach 1000 watts out, you will see currents in the 105-115 A continuous range from the battery. By putting 2 in parallel connected with heavy (#4) wire you can cut this to 50-60A per battery making them run longer, in fact more than twice as long due to the lower discharge rate. You can also tie into the engine's alternator to source power if it is running but use a battery isolator Warn Industries 28022 120-Amp Dual Battery Isolator to ensure your inverter doesn't leave you without the ability to start the engine by draining power from the engine battery.
In summary I chose all of my inverters to output true sinewave power just like you get at work or home. "Modified sine wave" power can be used for simple loads but read up on it with google prior to choosing it to wire into your RV. You don't want to smell your ipod adapter melting after an hour's use on the inverter or find that setting the microwave for 10 minutes gets done in just 3 because the clock runs fast on modified sine wave power. Also keep in mind 100+ amp current needs #4 wire or better depending on the distance. Preferably keep the 2 batteries and inverter all next to each other so the runs are < 3 feet of wire. If you feel that you want genuine sinewave power in your RV check out the options to the prosine series. They make this exact design in TRUE sinewave power like you get from the utility company including a power save function and with a cutover feature just like this unit has. The only difference is your power will be as good or better than what comes from your outlet at home.I purchased this inverter to be part of the replacement system for my 15 year old Trace modified sine wave inverter charger. The new system consists of this inverter, a 600 watt Prowatt inverter and a 20 amp Xantrex True Charge 2 charger. I chose this brand because of the outstanding performance of my original Trace inverter/charger. I chose to go with a component system this time so that I could replace indiviual pieces in the event of failure. I have lived off grid for 15 years and my solar/wind system ties into my trailer's original wiring. This inverter runs my compact refridgerator and kitchen/laundry outlets with no problem; the Prowatt inverter runs all my electronics and variable speed motors; it even powers a piece of medical equipmentProwatt SW600 600 Watt True Sinewave Inverter. The best feature of this inverter is the bypass circuit (ATS) that allows me to run big loads (pump, washing machine, microwave)directly off the generator whenever it's running which saves a lot of wear and tear on my batteries. The battery cable connections are easily reached and the included boots are great since this inverter is mounted in an exposed location. The front panel readout is another nice detailchoose between input and load so I can see exactly how much my appliances are pulling. I have a VERY small battery bank (one 12v L-16 type battery) and so far these two inverters combined do not pull enough current idling to see an apreciable difference between this and the old inverter which went into a "rest" state when no load was applied.
