2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter plus integrated Car Charger for the Motorola Triumph with Gomad

2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter plus integrated Car Charger for the Motorola Triumph with Gomadic TipExchange Technology
  • Allows your Motorola Triumph to transmit clear; rich audio while simultaneously powering/recharging.
  • 2nd Generation version incorporates a more powerful charging circuit; better FM signal isolation and higher output for clear; rich sound
  • Full FM frequency spectrum selectable (88.1 to 107.9 MHz). Advanced Digital PLL sound coding maintains stable and high quality sound
  • FM Transmitter supports an effective range of over 30 feet. Works in virtually every size and shape vehicle
  • Buy with confidence! Product is backed by Gomadic's comprehensive lifetime warranty

When I saw the listing for this product, I was a little skeptical. A FM transmitter/charger, for this price? Whatever. Don't be thrown off by the unassuming packaging and industrial design, this is a strong product. My experience with FM transmitters has been marred by the inconsistent quality of Griffin's iTrip. This product absolutely blows it out of the water.

I purchased this to use on a road trip and had mixed results. I'm giving it 3 stars becuase it really only half works. The fm transmitter worked fine. In fact, it had the best sound quality of any transmitter I've tried. The charging portion of this was crap. The first time I hooked it up, I thought it was great. It charged the phone fast. After that first time though, it never worked right again. The best I can get from the charger is that it maintains the battery level on the phone wherever it is at when you plug it in, but it does not charge the phone at all. I thought maybe my cigarette lighter was failing but my gps and other phone chargers all worked without a hitch, so it has to be a failure by this unit.

This is awesome because I drive an 02 Protege which doesn't have auxiliary (such an uncool chic lol)But now I can easily hook-up my Virgin Mobile Triumph and music plays clear and loud.

When I charge my phone it seems to charge fairly quickly :)(a twenty minute drive gives me half a battery charge).

I don't charge and listen to music simultaneously though unfortunately, because as I accelerate in my stick shift the faster I drive the louder a high pitch hum continuously sounds.

Overall I am really glad I purchased this and I would do so again if I needed to, as well as recommend the 2nd Generation Audio FM Transmitter plus integrated Car Charger for the Motorola Triumph with Gomadic TipExchange Technology. I've used it for months now without an issue.

NOCO Genius GC003 12V Plug Connector

NOCO Genius GC003 12V Plug ConnectorIt works just fine. very useful device to have. I would definitely recommend this item to anyone in need of a Male Cigarette Connector. It turned out to be an extremely handy attachment and I am highly pleased!

This product will not work on my Lexus. It does on my 1998 BMW Z3. I think it is because the lighter plug on the Lexus will not work without the key turned on. It does work without the key in my BMW.

I added a cigarette lighter (wired direct to battery) in my motorcycle sadlebag for my phone charger, this allows me to just plug in without having to remove the seat or add another wire to my battery post(another opportunity to short!) I want to point out, if your looking for one of those pigtails that is the more universal (battery tender style) plug, this is not it. I have the NOCO, I don't know if it works with anything else, but it does not use the standard 2 wire trailer plug that many others use.

Swiss+Tech BGCS81 BodyGard Survivor Self-Powered Radio with Emergency Hammer, Seatbelt Cutter.

Swiss+Tech BGCS81 BodyGard Survivor Self-Powered Radio with Emergency Hammer, Seatbelt Cutter.Swiss+tech crank Flashlight Test Results

It's not heavy, but is big: 9.5" tall and 2" thick at the top part. Will take up some space to store.

Used stopwatch to time this.

1. After full discharge 1 minute crank

Flashlight: About 4 minutes, lost 70-80% intensity, in 5 minutes full discharge. Good enough (compared to other such flashlights which do far worse), so I find this reliable.

Is useful in many ways: for checking engine, tires, power failure at home etc

2. After full discharge 1 minute crank

Emergency red beacon (blink/siren) (without siren as volume was kept on zero)

At about 28 minutes, started loosing intensity. At 41 minutes, quite dim, 46 mnts really low, 49 mnts still blinking but really low not usable. So I'll stop here.

3. After full discharge 1 minute crank

Radio volume at mid level, good until 9 minutes, then volume goes down and in a few minutes stops.

This I think is a unique device, with siren, beacon, flashlight, radio, hammer, seat belt cutter.....

I find this reliable and will keep in my center console in my car where I can blindly reach it in case of emergency.

I wanted a car-escape tool that also had a flashlight and a dynamo crank to recharge it. This was one of three I found and I went with this one because it looks flatter and easier to store. The radio is a nice addition so it can double as a disaster situation news source. I also really like that the rechargeable batteries are removable AA batteries so if you already have other methods to recharge the same type of batteries, you can recharge them with other rechargers and then put them in this tool. It can go the other way too, if you feel like cranking for two hours, you can fully recharge two AA rechargeable batteries for other electronics :). There's an optional AC adapter you can buy and connect to this tool to recharge the batteries that way or run the lights/radio off AC power. I couldn't find the adapter online for sale so probably have to call swiss+tech for it. Everything that I tested works. I didn't test the hammer on any windows but it looks solid. I didn't test the seat belt cutter on anything other than paper so not sure how sharp it is. I didn't test if backup batteries would work.

Minus 1 star for the dynamo causing lots of static/interference on AM radio, so you can't crank while you listen to AM radio. But FM radio, lights, sirens work while cranking. Also it is 10 inches long, which is bigger than I expected but it still fits in the center console of my '98 Accord. But that's more of a mark against the seller/Amazon for lack of information on its dimensions.

this works better than i would have believed, thet price is great and it does so much, good for emergencies. a must have for all who camp, have emergency kits or own a car.

For the money this is a nice tool to keep by my driver's seat for emergencies. I bought one for each car because the price was good. Admittedly, it doesn't do any one function like a dedicated tool (radio, flashlight, etc), but it does everything well enough for me to be confident using it stranded on the side of the road. The fact that the hand-crank is easy enough for my three year old to operate and powers everything sufficiently, is fantastic. Now I occupy her attention in a stressful situation.

I only wish the flashlight was a bit brighter and that it received NOAA weather channels. But if any event occurs big enough to be on NOAA here in Hawaii, I'm sure the public FM/AM channels will be reporting as well.

Want Swiss+Tech BGCS81 BodyGard Survivor Self-Powered Radio with Emergency Hammer, Seatbelt Cutter. Discount?

I purchased four of these units as presents for relatives. First, I was forewarned by other reviewers about the large size of these devices. I still didn't expect them to be quite as large as they were. The window breaker is something that needs to be kept immediately to hand, and frankly, I'm not sure where in an average car these devices could be stored and still be to hand in an emergency. But that isn't why I returned them.

On opening one of the packages and testing the device, I found that the radio did not work at all. This was not a battery problem. I had put in a set of fully charged Eneloop batteries. Finally, fiddling with the volume control intermittently caused the device to emit distorted audio. Obviously, the volume control potentiometer was faulty. Next I tested the flashlight, about which the most charitable thing I can say is that it is slightly brighter than a glowworm.

Overall, the build quality was very low. I have lived in Switzerland and can say that, based on personal experience, the Swiss are absolutely superb at anything to which they aspire to excel. I commend the sense of humor and irony that caused the manufacturers of this device to call themselves Swiss+Tech. Nevertheless I returned all four of these enormous, impractical and defective devices.

AeroVironment Residential EV Charger, 15' cable (Level 2 EVSE-RS: 7.2kW, 30A)

AeroVironment Residential EV Charger, 15' cableHaving recently purchased a Nissan LEAF I was in need of a home charging station since they don't recommend routinely using the 110 volt trickle charger that comes with it. After looking at a range of units at varying prices I decided to not take any chances and go with the unit that Nissan recommends and has worked with. The price on Amazon is attractive (cheaper than other sources). I did my own installation since I am comfortable working with electrical installations. The only thing one must recognize is that you will probably have to install a new 220 volt service dedicated to this device circuit breaker and wiring. Pulling in a new 8 gauge cable is a challenge if you have to go very far and might be best left to the pros. My installation is adjacent to the C/B panel so was not too bad. So far the unit works great and I am fully charged up in no time.

I've seen several charging units and this is one of the better quality designs. We have it on the outside of the building and the seals are very tight.

Want AeroVironment Residential EV Charger, 15' cable (Level 2 EVSE-RS: 7.2kW, 30A) Discount?

Works great. Same as Nissan branded product, just different plastic face. I installed it myself. Initially after install the car wouldn't recognize and communicate with it, but I took it apart again and found a connector had come loose. (My fault, I tried to take the face off while installing it. It's not necessary or possible to take the face off; just leave it hanging by the wires during install. I didn't get the connector re-seated correctly the first time). Snapped it back on and everything worked great. Charges the car much faster than the 110v.

Needs a 40a circuit and enough 6g (maybe 8g, if the run is short) wire to finish the job. Also has some torx screws, but you can use hex wrench instead if you don't have torx drivers.

I bought this universal charger after returning a different charger that didn't fit my TomTom Via. The universal charger works very well and the convenience of being able to charge the GPS device at home and set up a route before departure is really nice, especially if the trip isn't very long. Also, on a longer trip it could charge the TomTom in a motel room for the next leg of the journey. The charger came with a small additional USB connection which I don't need for the TomTom Via, but it might fit another device, like a phone. It seems sturdy, not too big to be stowed with the TomTom in a larger carry case.

Car Charger for Verizon Apple iPhone 4 (Black)

Car Charger for Verizon Apple iPhone 4Once again impressed with the fast delivery and the ease of ordering. But the product does not work. I took the charger out to the car, unplugged the one I had been using and plugged in this new charger. The charger showed that it was getting 12 volts, but when it was connected to the iphone 4 it appeared the phone was not getting any voltage for charging. Also, the connector fit loosely into the iphone 4 and when I looked closer, the connector did not appear to even have the same design connection characteristics. I think the connector was for a different type phone where you need the metal legs on the ends of the connector to positively connect (latch) to some phone, but not the iphone 4. Once I noticed it did not work, I plugged the charger I had been using and the iphone 4 popped up showing the green bar as the phone was charging. So, that just proved that the charger I had been using worked and the iphone 4 was able to to accept a charge. The charger that I had been using was not OEM equipment, but I paid $20 for it via buying it from a store from store and could test it right in the store before I walked out, so in this case, NON-OEM worked, but I could evaluate it before walking out of the store. Purchasing products for interconnecting devices can have many risks. I doubt I will buy from Amazon other devices like this, but right now I am waiting on Amazon to tell me how they will deal with this issue. When cheap does not work, it becomes expensive.

This is the second time that buy the product from them. Great services and fast delivery....

It works great with my Iphone 4.

I set out to buy a cheap but functional charger when I purchased this one, and in that respect I am quite satisfied. The only downside to this product is that the connector is not *quite* long enough to charge the phone while the case is on. I have a relatively thin Belkin cover on my phone and I had hoped to be able to use the car charger without removing it. As it is, I just pop the bottom half of the phone out of the case and plug in the charger when needed. Otherwise this charger works perfectly! All in all, a good product with one small inconvenience.

I paid only $1 for this charger, and I probably paid too much. It seemed to have troubles immediately, in that when plugged in and attached to the phone, my phone constantly beeped and the screen brightness flickered, almost as if the connection was intermittent. We recently brought this very cool car charger on vacation (two parents, three kids) and we used it several times during our journey. Since my family now owns a seemingly endless supply of electronics: two iPhones, one iPad, an iPod Touch and three Kindles – there's almost always a device in need of a charge. Bottom line: This OREI device works great! Simply insert the charger into your cigarette lighter and/or your 12-volt DC power outlets and use the exact same USB cables that came with your iPad/iPhones/Kindles and you're quickly charged and back up and running. We took full advantage of the dual port which allowed us to charge two of our devices at the same time. Our new motto: Don't leave home without it!

Wagan EL2003-5 400 Watt Continuous Power Inverter with 5V 2.1 Amp USB Charging Ports

Wagan EL2003-5 400 Watt Continuous Power Inverter with 5V 2.1 Amp USB Charging PortsI got this inverter to replace one we had -a 175 watt one -that wasn't powerful enough for my wife's new laptop. This one has plenty of umph to do the job, it's just a bit on the loud side. While it's on, the fan is too, and when on the floor of the passenger seat, it was about 60 dB -about the volume of a normal conversation. You can definitely hear it over the road noise. There is a handy switch on the unit so you can leave it plugged in all the time and turn it off when not in use.

It comes with a cigarette lighter plug, as well as battery clamps. I believe you'll only be able to get the full 400 watts if you connect directly to the car battery, but we only need about 250 watts so the cigarette lighter plug works fine.

The USB ports have enough power to charge an iPad. My iPad showed "Charging" when plugged into the USB ports rather than the usual "Not Charging" when plugged into my old inverter that had USB ports

I'd recommend this but I'd want people to know that it's not whisper quiet like my old one.

First the quirks: The unit will shut off automatically if you are either not using any power or are using really low power. I purchased it to use in the car for various things but when using it to charge AA or my DSLR batteries it will only do so for a short period of time before turning itself off and requiring me to flip the switch. Highly annoying and I will be replacing it for this reason (or selling/trading to someone).

Things I like: The size and design are appealing and its mostly metal so shouldn't heat up as much as some others. Like a few people have said it isn't as loud as some people think, more than tolerable.

I will be contacting the manufacturer to find out if the low or no power use is a design feature or a flaw with my unit. Will update this with a comment with what I find out.

Buy Wagan EL2003-5 400 Watt Continuous Power Inverter with 5V 2.1 Amp USB Charging Ports Now

We travel a lot by car over very far distances so a power inverter is a must have for watching dvd's and charging phones etc. Our older inverter same wattage finally died on us and after research I was nervous about the reviews I read on that brands newer models so this one seemed like a good bet and I was right. I have to disagree with the other reviewers about the noise, compared to my old one (which was only 4 years old)this is whisper quiet, it does make noise but as I've said compared to the whistler that I had it is significantly quieter. I'm sure the USB's will come in handy as the old one did not have them and the on/off button does not stick up really high so it wont get switched off accidently by the plug which was a big problem with our other one. Also, it does include the car charger and the battery clamps unlike the majority of other ones I saw, most only had the battery clamps which is fine if you are camping but what about while you are driving to the campground? Great buy for the price!

Read Best Reviews of Wagan EL2003-5 400 Watt Continuous Power Inverter with 5V 2.1 Amp USB Charging Ports Here

I read some other reviews on here where people complained that it wasn't powerful enough for their application when plugged into the cigarette lighter, and I just had to shake my head. Most cigarette lighter covers have a nice sticker on the inside that clearly states 120W max draw. Use the included battery clamps if you want to run something that draws more power, a 400W inverter can only work with what it's being supplied, so don't blame the product for not delivering 400W when you plug it into a 120W outlet.

Hooked directly to a battery, this little thing fired up my blender, which has an initial draw of almost 800W on startup, and did fine running it under load (ice and margaritas!). Like others have stated, the fan stays on and it's a little loud, but anything you're going to be running off of this is likely to make as much noise, except for a phone charger. All in all, it's great so far, and so much smaller than I expected.

Odyssey Batteries PC1220-A Automotive/Light Truck and Van BatteryI've been using Odyssey batteries in my vehicles for about 2 years now. They are SO much better than the old-school lead acid dinosaurs that are still the most common automotive and marine battery type in use today.

These AGM batteries last longer, hold a stronger charge, hold their charge longer, and emit no harmful fumes. Yes, they are expensive but you get-what-you-pay-for as the saying goes.

Be mindful of the brand you purchase for any battery. For example, Optima brand batteries used to be of high quality and manufactured in the USA, however they are now made in China or Mexico, depending on the battery. I've read reviews of customers of these batteries who have found the product to be less durable and with a shorter lifespan than previous Optima batteries.

Highly recommended.

Just got this battery a few months ago, but I figured I'd post anyway as I've already noticed the difference in quality. The AGM construction is great and I immediately noticed a quicker, stronger start and MUCH smoother initial idle after I swapped out my old lead-acid one [killed by Northeast winter in one year]. Combine that with the warranty and the fact that it's U.S.-made and you've got a tremendous product. The price is definitely steep but based on everything I've researched about Odyssey and my results so far I'm glad I paid it.

This was one of the worst things I have purchased on Amazon. It did not fit the car that it was sold to fit and after we figured out we could not use it, we also could not return it. The price was also higher than what you would find at your local auto parts store.

I thought it would be easy to buy these types of things online, but really.. this one was a huge fail

USGLOBALSAT BT821 Bluetooth MTK GPS with Car Charger

USGLOBALSAT BT821 Bluetooth MTK GPS with Car ChargerPurchased to use with Delorme Street Atlas USA 2006 as a replacement for the LT-20 that came with it. Acquires signal quickly and connects to the software using my laptop's Bluetooth interface much faster than the wired unit it replaces. It is great that the laptop is no longer tethered to the dashboard via cable. Can run on the internal battery or pluged in to a 12v DC power plug (cigarette lighter plug).

Minor Con: The blinking indicator lights reflect off the windshield during night time driving and is annoying. My solution was to put my ball cap over it, which doesn't affect the signal at all.

Update: After using this gps receiver some more, I have decided to upgrade my rating from a 4 to a 5.

The Product was as good as advertised and it seems to be a product that will last for soom tike..

Did not meet my needs at all. There was no mention in the material before purchase or when recieved at home that it did not work with an I-Phone. Wasted alot of time on this and had to pay a restocking fee. The whole deal sucked.

Needed to replace a prior unit for use in my airplane. Also works fine in a car.

This one acquires very quickly, the battery really lasts, and it connects to the laptop painlessly.

The best feature to me is that it auto shuts off 10 minutes after no communication with the host laptop over Bluetooth. That helps me a lot because I was always forgetting to turn off the old one, thus draining the battery.

Great unit!

Peak PKC0AZ 450 Amp Jump Starter

Peak PKC0AZ 450 Amp Jump Starter(originally written for a solar power forum, but applies here too)

OK, I wussed out, and bought a commercial product! We have a small sleeping hut built on the ranch now, but no power in it yet. It's going to take a while to mount a panel, batteries, charge controller, wire up lights and such, and we arrive at nighttime, and no where to plug the CPAP in ! So I spent a couple days pricing out different ways to accomplish this, and settled on a portable jump start pack. Found a model with good reviews (Peak PKC0AZ 450), and no air compressor (that often fails after 50 total minutes of use). Located one in stock at local autoparts store, and bought it, taking a chance it's been parked in a warehouse for a year, and then in the back room for 2 more years, resulting in a flat, sulfated battery. (fully half of the complaints at Amazon)

Other choice was to get a AGM battery, rig up a case, cigar jack outlet, charger and hope it still fits into the car.

Upon opening it up, and throwing a voltmeter on it, I was pleased to find it reading 12.85V on a warm afternoon. It's built-in indicator showed it was 4/5 charged also good. I plugged it's wall wart (transformer, not switcher, 12V, .5A) in, and let it top it off for a couple hours, it came to quiescence at 13.37v, and I unplugged it. After an hour, it read 13.13V. Awesome! And the Respironics power cord (for the CPAP) appears to fit snugly into the Lighter jack.

Using my kill-a-watt before I was shopping, I'd discovered that the CPAP consumed about 75 watt hours in a 6 hour run, and that for 2 nights, I'd consume about 12.5 ah of battery. The "450A packs" claim to have an 18AH AGM battery in them, but I figured, I may as well have a portable unit, than a hulk that will last me a month. And if I only ran it one night (6.25 AH consumed) and then recharged, it'd live a long lifetime. Well, the power brick for the CPAP is a pig. After running all night (6 hours) , the voltage in the AM, read 12.66v Whoo hooo! Internal battery indicator LEDs still showed 4/5 charge, way less drain than the power brick used (all my testing is done with humidifier OFF) so even though the brick read about 3 watts idle, it was using more with a light load.

So, this will recharge at my shop, and I think I'll get a plug in lamp timer, and set that for a 1 hour charge daily, to keep it topped off between visits. And since the shop is on solar power, now my CPAP is too!

Added benefit, the power pack has a LED lamp built in, and a USB power port, so I don't even need a cigar plug Y cord to charge my phone and PDA.

So, I've owned this less than 2 days, but I think it will do the job I need it to, and it's not DOA out of the box. It can also charge via a running car too, but I've not tried that yet, I think I can also feed it from a 3 stage charge controller set for AGM. And it can jump start the tractor too, if I need it.

And it was a lot less than the $$ soft side 14ah CPAP battery pack. I hope the AMA does not come after me!

I purchased this with the purpose in mind of using it as a portable power source for things like when I go camping it can provide power for lights, an air mattress inflator, etc. The battery rating of "18 amp/hour" tells you it should be able to run something drawing ~18 amps for 1 hour, 9 amps for 2 hours, etc. I've even tried using it to power a small inflatable boats trolling motor for over an hour and it didn't drain it, but I mainly kept the motor on the low setting (using ~8 amps, high would use ~15 amps but I used that only ~10 minute of the time I was out).

The only issues I've had with this unit (why I dropped 1 star) is for charging it, I've had to send power thru the lighter outlet or main jumper cables. The red LED indicating "charging" comes on with it plugged in to their "charge port", but after leaving it plugged in for an hour there was no increase in voltage. I connected up a charger to the other places and instantly saw "12.75V, 12.76, 12.77, etc" (about at the same rate you can say those numbers out loud) showing it was actually charging (and FYI I still used a 500mA charger like they provide, not a 10amp or such). Also the switch for the outlets doesn't turn them off, but they pass power fine. Update Dec 2012: I got the guts to open up the case and on the back of the circuit board, I saw a line of solder going across the switch terminals for the "power outlet" switch. I'm 99% sure that shouldn't have been there, so popped it off and now the switch turns off the outlets. Still not sure about the charge issue though and didn't want to risk breaking the circuit board trying to dig too deep.

I've found that the battery indicator LEDs come on as follows:

While something's in the "charge jack" (to tell the unit that you're charging it) the red LED shows with under 12.75V, the yellow LED shows for 12.75-13.1V, a green LED shows for 13.1-13.5V and 2 green LEDs show for over 13.5. If nothing is connected to that "charge jack" (hinting you're draining the battery) the red LED shows for under 11.6V, the yellow shows for 11.6-11.9V, a green is on for 11.9-12.25V and double green show for over 12.25V. Those make sense to me because 13-14V is fully charged and what you want to measure while charging, yet down in that 12.5-11.5 area is what you want to measure while draining.

As far as it living up to it's title of "jump starting" a car, I have doubts. Just like this battery is ~1/3 the size/weight of a car battery, you won't get but about that much power from it (and the labels like "450 amp" or "900 peak amp" are just a big salesman lie to make it sound big). My proof is from connecting up a 100 amp battery tester to it freshly charged, the battery drops to 9.5V under that load for 5 seconds (and that is close to what a small car starter needs). I was taught in shop class that a car battery should keep 10.5V under 1/2 it's CCA load, so this doesn't pass as even a 200 Cold Crank Amp (so how do they get "450"?).

Update Oct-2012: I tried starting my Ford Festiva (4 cyl) with this alone on a morning with it ~40 degrees out (disconnecting the car battery to simulate a dead one). It did start it, but the starter was slow just barely being able to crank it. I tested my car battery the next morning and it's labeled as 500cca, but passed as only a 200cca (showing I need to replace it soon). After doing that test I started the car and didn't notice anything abnormal (with the starter going much better than on the Peak unit alone even after the drain from the test).

The cars battery condition will also play a big role in whether or not this can "boost" you enough to get you going. If a cars battery is pretty weak (like from leaving your lights on while you went to a movie for 2 hours) but can still provide some power, this can give you some extra power and has a fair chance of getting you going. But if a cars battery is fully drained (like from leaving lights on all night long) and you hook this up to the dead battery, the dead battery will instantly start "stealing" power (to recharge itself) & probably drain this before you can even get from the hood to the driver seat to start the car. In that situation I doubt you'll get started without a charging source (an a/c charger or other car & jumper cables).

I purchased this thinking this was an outright 900amp unit, when I went to pick it up (Advanced Auto)the unit stated 450 starting amps and 900 peak amps, obviously no one was able to tell me what that meant. But I kept it in the spirit of giving it a try. At home, I was able to take a closer look, to see the features. A switch for some workable LEDs, not to bad when you don't have a flashlight around. the DC plug, though I didn't use it yet, looked good. Nice rubber bottom on the unit to help it stay in place. After putting it through an 18hr or so charge, I plugged into a work van (Ford V8) that had a completely dead battery. Hooked up the unit to the battery, and ... nothing. Though I did hear the buzzing noise that my key was in the ignition, just not enough to do anything else. Now I left it for about 20 min. Didn't know if that was either enough or I had it on longer than needed or not enough for that matter, but came back and tried it again. I got into the van and this time the starter was trying to engage, and I kept cranking, either it was going to turn over or die on me again. Well it finally did turn over, which means I will be holding on to the unit, since the other two cars I own are 4 cyl. I have not plugged back into the charger I will see how it runs its course. But simply impressed enough for the price. I did get it at AA over than Amazon was purely price, a preblack Friday special of 50.00 which I thought was excellent at the time for 900 amps... which is really 450 starting amps.

Used once in two years.... worked fine. Now, two years later, seems it won't hold a charge. Charged regularly each month to have max performance available, but it is time for a new pack.

Having written my review as listed below, I then contacted the Company service rep "Mark" and received excellent "Customer Service" which I did not think existed in today's world. My rating of "The Company" went from a single star to 5 due to Mark's involvement. I realize I should have contacted Peak initially, but my expectations regarding service from anyone was so low, I gave up before taking any action. Learned to be a lot more positive in situations such as this.

Thank you Mark and you should be listed on the Asset side of your company's Balance sheet!!!!

After I received the unit, I charged it according to instructions and the "jump" went by the book . On January 23, my birthday, I gave the unit a recharge as specified in the instructions. Prior to retirement was in technical field, therefore a "Nerd" when it comes to procedures and documentation. My neighbor needed a jump on Memorial Day so I quickly got my "Peak' and checked status lights and found only the red L E D would light when checked (25% charged) . Have been trying to "reload" the battery charge with no success since then!! At $80 per jump, I could have used AAA at a lower cost.

Motorola EM330 Cell Phone Car Charger

Motorola EM330 Cell Phone Car ChargerThis is not the high quality charger. I suppose, being that it's made in China, it probably has lead paint I'll wager. It does it's job I guess. I give it a so-so rating

  • With full high two colors LED definition display, the screen exquisite clarity.
  • The New 2013 packing,more beautiful and quite well-done.

I'm kinda new at ham radio stuff, so this may be a bit useless to those who know more about these handheld ham radios....but here goes.

I like it.

I haven't had it out in the field yet, but it sounds good on the desk.

Only had it a month, so I cannot say if it will last.

good -

The price.

It's a bit smaller than the Yaesu FT60

new choices red color is awesome

it has more optional stuff added has a band button and an A/B switch, a v/m button, a call button,

Luckily a large group of hams have added their own software and such out on the web to help.

I had no problems putting the few parts together and getting the radio to work.

There are 2 frequencies displayed on the screen, and I have one set to the ham frequency now, and one on the FRS/GMRS frequency (nice setup).

bad -

seems more fragile than the Yaesu FT60

I haven't been able to figure out the short manual...at least it is not helpful at all.

The battery charger station seems cheap... you have to seat the radio in it...you don't have a plug in type attachment. I just unplug it and re-plug it to get it to start charging the internal rechargeable battery(indicator red light turns green after charged).

I don't see a way to use disposables.
