Progressive Dynamics PD9260CV Inteli-Power 9200 Series 60 Amp Converter/Charger with Built-in Charg
My 2006 Magnatec Parallax 500 series converter that was installed in my RV had failed to charge the batteries. I researched and find that its reliability is very poor approximately between 3 to 8 years. Further more, it is a "dumb" charger, because it will keep charging approx 13.5 volts and not shut off very well. It wont desulfate the batteries either. As such your batteries will be boiled over if you don't keep a small load on it. I could not even upgrade this converter because there is nothing out there that can easily swap out converter section. I took off the converter section and drilled out the rivets from the cover and find that there is sticker that says "made in china" on the board and various parts. It is basically very simple non microprocessor controlled charger with two large heat sinks and capacitors.
I wanted smart charger and I researched and found this one Progressive Dynamics Intellipower charger with smart charger wizard computer built in. It had good reputation and and reasonable price so I bit the bullet and bought it along with remote pendant.
Package arrived 5 days after order. When I opened the shipping carton, I found that its just wrapped in a plastic bubble wrap. No retail packaging. It is definitely for OEM installers not retail. What I mean by that is that when the factory ships components (in bulk) to RV manufacturers for installing on RV's before being delivered to customers, they do not include pendants or other hardware items or even put into a nice retail packages. Retail version of this is what you as customers see on store shelves, they include pendant as part of the retail version so keep that in mind when you shop through Amazon and your local RV parts store. In my case, thankfully I had a set of instructions included inside the shipping carton but its minimal at best. Since the new charger had 3 prongs 120V plug at end, that was complete surprise to me since I expected to hardwired charger to 120V circuit just like any other charger.
I removed the guts of the charger converter and threw in the trash and put the metal "shell" of the converter back into the power distribution panel because I need to reuse the DC fuse holder panel back on. I ran new romex wire from the back of power distributor to the front of the RV where the batteries were at. I put in 120VAC outlet for the charger plug to plug in. I observed correct wiring polarity of the new outlet (black wire to short prong hole (brass screw), white wire to wider prong hole (silver screw) and ground to ground terminal). The power is fed from circuit breaker that was used to power the old charger.
I mounted the new charger next to the battery compartment (not inside) with self tapping metal screws into steel plates. I ran 2 foot long #6 cable from battery shut off switch to the positive leg of charger. I ran 2 foot long #6 cable from other leg to the main 30 Amp 12VDC circuit breakers. In other words, I installed it in between the battery cut off switch and the main 12VDC circuit breakers. Finally, I ran a short #6 black cable from negative to the chassis ground since my batteries negative posts are grounded to chassis already. The charger positive and negative DC lugs requires allen wrench (not phillips or slot screws) to secure the cables a testament to thoughtful design of this charger. The charger housing is grounded and I didn't need to run ground cable from the ground lug to chassis because I had three metal mounting screws that mount the charger to steel plate (its part of RV chassis). If you going to mount this on wood, you need to run ground wire from the ground lug to metal chassis for safety reason.
Now, you might be wondering why I didn't just put this new charger in place of old charger, I could do that but for the best and fastest charging efficiency, you want to locate the charger close to the battery as much as possible and keep the battery cables short as possible so that generator does not have to spend more time charging up the batteries when you do camp out without hook ups. 2ndly, its much easier for me to keep the new charger cool and service it if I locate it in storage compartment if need to than if I had it locate it in old spot next to propane furnace which can keep it too warm.
The remote pendant is plugged in to the charger, it looks like a telephone jack but little narrower than standard jack. The wiring length is about 6 feet long much too short for my needs. I will have to take old telephone wire and splice in longer wire in place so that I can mount the remote pendant on the battery monitor panel. I have not done that yet so I can't comment on this one yet.
The new battery charger works well. And it is quite heavy and best of all, its an American made. Here is the instructions: %20english%20manual.pdfI bought my camper new in 2005 in 2008, I replaced the original WFCO 9855 with another WFCO 9855 A friend in a local RV shop tried to get me to use PD unit, but I stubbornly stuck with the WFCO the WFCO has had a tendency to 'cook' my batteries it may not be the WFCO's fault for two reasons one, I don't check them as often as I should and secondly, I have a long power line from the converter to the battery (about 15 feet) I think it's #6, but it may not be large enough for the converter to correctly interpret the battery's condition -
This time when the WFCO started acting up, I decided to try the PD unit and so far I like it the install was a bit tricky as space was cramped, but the unit fit with some wire rerouting connecting the two wires and plugging it in was a breeze -
It's not in an easy access location, but I left the optional pendant connected for a while and the unit seemed to be cycling properly in spite of being 'cooked' once by the WFCO, the battery appears to be working fine I'm thinking the cycling on the PD unit has actually helped the battery back to a decent condition after a couple weeks, I removed the pendant and put the breaker panel back together -
The WFCO was a 55 amp unit and I replaced it with a 60 amp I have had two deep cycle batteries, so I thought it would be smart to increase the size slightly in case I add another battery these days, I haven't parked anywhere that I haven't had at least a 110V 15A circuit available for battery charging so I haven't bothered adding the second battery -
The real issue is how this unit performs over time so far, so good -
-------------------------
Update 11/27/2012
I purchased the original unit in March 2012 In July, the original unit stopped working I contacted 2008 second time, they promptly arranged for a replacement unit which has performed flawlessly since hats off to '2008 second time' a great vendor to do business with -What a great product. I purchased the 60 amp for the same price Amazon had the 45 amp and both were about 80 bucks cheaper than the local camper supply place (name brand joint). Very easy to hook up and works great!!this was a replacement for a WFCO convertor that burnt out in my camper. After reading many reviews I settled on this converter and this amperage. the WFCO was 55 amps so I went witht eh 60amp Progressive Dynamics and the 9200 seriess. The converter was delievered on time, and was the correct product. I will continue to purchas from this supplier. The installation was straight forward.

I ordered this for a UPS under the impression that it would be the B.B. Battery so I wouldn't need to worry about the terminals being different. However I received a UB170 in its place which of course, has smaller terminals. Not a show stopper but annoying and not what I paid for. Also as others have stated it was shipped just in a bag. This company did contact me offering to ship the terminal adapters if I would remove this review. However, probably should have sent it with the battery in the first place if you are going to send something different than what was advertised.

This is a great set of radios for the price to include the charging station. Great range and clarity. I haven't had to use them no more than one kilometer, but with all the buildings in my area, these are great. Really practical without all the extras.Con--NO KEYPAD LOCK! I had to constantly check to see if I was on the right channel due to the equipment I carry hanging across my chest, but to stay alert is to stay alive so I adapted.

Took one star off because the little plastic connector pieces are flimsy and could break off if you're not careful. Though, it's really a design flaw of the phones. Overall, this is a great deal.

Sony CR2032 Lithium Ion Battery
Buy Sony CR2032 Lithium Ion Battery Now
Great product, great price, extremely fast delivery! It was slightly different than pictured (Energizer instead of Sony) but that is a non-issue. I would have spent three to four times as much to buy this item locally and still wouldn't have had it in my hand much sooner. These batteries did not work for me. I do believe that they must have been sitting around for some years because they had very little charge to them. Not one worked for more then a few minutes. I had to purchase from another place and they (at the other place) had the expiration date clearly marked on them. They also worked without a hitch. When a battery doesn't work on a product such as 3D glasses, it's more then unfortunate. It's mis-leading and can become fretful. I was concerned that a 150.00 pair of 3D glasses were defective. No battery should be sold without a clearly marked expiration date and without it being tested if they've been left to sit around so long.I should have listened to the other reviews. It does not work! As always, you get what you pay for!Sunday, May 4, 2014

Inexpensive, solid durability, no brainer. I put 2 together to charge my iPhone. Works on a so-so cloudy Seattle day! Really a good unit to experiment with to learn solar. I used 2 of them to power a remote video camera, drive some fans, built a solar powered refrigerator out of a coleman cooler, heat sink and a small fan....that turned out really well. I could buy dozens of these!Read Best Reviews of Instapark® NEW All Black 5W High-Efficiency Mono-Crystalline Solar Panel Here
I purchased this panel (as well as a controller, 12V battery, and accessory plug) for recharging electronics during extended kayak trips. I haven't taken it on a long trip so far, but did test it for several hours in my shady back yard. Even lying flat (as it will be on the kayak) in a relatively shady area, it still provided plenty of charge for my devices. The smaller dimensions make it easy to secure with bungees on deck or stow when not in use. I'll probably add a bead of silicone around all of the exposed joints for peace of mind, but otherwise the panel is exactly what I needed. It provided me with a very cost-effective way to keep everything charged out on the water.Want Instapark® NEW All Black 5W High-Efficiency Mono-Crystalline Solar Panel Discount?
I picked up this solar panel for a rediculously low price. I am using it on an electric slide gate and I have had it for about a few months now. I wish they would have included a mounting bracket, but I was able to make my own relatively quick. It is super great not to have to run wires and dig trenches.Friday, April 4, 2014

12 Volt 7 Amp Hour Sealed Lead Acid Battery (12v7ah , 12v 7ah , 12 V 7 Ah)
Three minutes after I opened the closet door where her distribution panel is, I changed out the batteries. $75 for that?
The replacement battery cost, with tax, $39.06. I couldn't give a five star rating to something I haven't tried yet. But this is what I am going to do. I will buy this battery and a charger, charge the old battery and have a new one for stand by. It won't be a stretch to keep one here for our portable digital television for tornado warnings time.
Amazon, you are incredible. If I want an honest review, I come to your site and not the manufacturers' sites.Very good, fit the bill of a replacement battery for my Verizon ONT for my FiOS service. A more expensive battery would probably give you the same thing, a charge for a limited amount of time.

Use & Price:This was so affordable and a very neccesary buy since most of my daily gadgets require a usb charger and battery life is ever so more decreasing. I purchased this car charger for my cell phone, tablet & husband's cell.
Style & Quality:
The lanyard does not attach to this car charger in any useful way. I use the lanyard for one of my usb thumb drives instead. The car charger is a cute hot pink (which makes this girl happy) and is small (about 2"). It is made out of a hard plastic and has 2 usb slots (2 different apm volumes). Make sure you check your device to see which volume of amp you can charge you appliance with so you can prevent frying your device. small appliances like cells use the blue side where as larger devices can take the black side.
Durability:
Pretty durable. Accidentally dropped it, didn't even scratch.

It works when it's plugged in all the way, but it's small and doesn't fit perfectly into the cigarette lighter adapter. So I have to make sure I push it all the way in when I need to charge my phone. Other than that I have no issues with it. It charges two devices at a time, so I can charge my phone and something else. It has a light when it's charging so I can tell when it's working. I have it for a while and I have no complaints.Friday, February 21, 2014

Bon-Aire i8000 Goodyear 120-Volt Direct Drive Tire Inflator
1. It plugs into any 120 volt outlet. I have 12 volt inflators and they have their place, but cannot compare to this unit.
2. It's fast. I just inflated a wheelbarrow tire from 5 psi to 30 psi in about 45 seconds.
3. The pressure gauge is accurate. One of my 12 volt inflators is off by 10 psi (under).
4. The screw-on valve is not as bad as you would think. It will only bleed one or two psi off a normal tire while its removed.
5. The screw-on valve is far superior to the clamp-on type. I feel that more air is lost when unclamping. Also, the wheelbarrow valve stem was too short for a clamp-on.
6. It comes with numerous inflation adapters.
What I don't like:
1. I would prefer a ball-type valve rather than the screw-on.
2. It seems to struggle as it approaches 30 psi. I worry that it won't be able to handle the 70 psi required for my bicycle tires. Nowhere in the operator's manual or on the box does it give the maximum pressure rating. The pressure gauge goes up to 150 psi, but that's meaningless.
Overall I'm very pleased. It should do just fine with normal tire pressures up to 38 psi.My old model Bon-Aire BA121L 120v gave up on me after only 2 seasons of light use so it was time to invest in another air inflator. I wanted one that was 120v as I was not comfortable with the pumps that run off your car charger. I've only used this a couple of times, but I can see that this is a much more solid inflator than my previous one.
When you turn it on it sounds solid, there are no moving parts so this should last longer than your conventional inflators, it's much quieter than my old pump and it pumps quicker too.
The only reason why I gave it 4 stars and not five was because it uses a screw on valve to pump tires on my cars. I personally like the snap on type of valve because it's easier and quicker, but I do find that with screw on valves it loses less air from the tires when you unscrew it.
Buy Bon-Aire i8000 Goodyear 120-Volt Direct Drive Tire Inflator Now
This is a perfect air pump. It inflates tires quickly and relatively quietly. The gage is very accurate. I checked it against a couple of others that I own so will rely on it from now on. It seems to be well made with no defects noted. I am looking forward to many years of use. I have been disappointed with others especially the ones that rely on a battery or 12V cigarette connection. They often blow fuses and knock out other things in the car. Never again. I would say buy with confidence. It only works with american type tire valves. It has an adapter for euopean valve stems but would not work on my bike.Read Best Reviews of Bon-Aire i8000 Goodyear 120-Volt Direct Drive Tire Inflator Here
I had looked on line for the perfect inflator that could be plugged in to an outlet. I have one front tire on my lawn tractor that deflates between mowing. The first two times I used it I couldn't have been happier. The third time when I turned on the switch it didn't make a sound. I thought it might be the outlet but it wasn't so the unit I purchased worked only twice before breaking down.Want Bon-Aire i8000 Goodyear 120-Volt Direct Drive Tire Inflator Discount?
I was hauling out my 45 pound air compressor to fill up the tires, and this makes it 1,000 times easier. It's a small unit, the size of a football, and it weighs probably only about 8 to 10 pounds. The blue cord stretches out surprisingly long, and the main adapter screws down tight over tire valves. You screw it on, flip the switch, and wait for the reading you want. Easy.It does inflate a car tire rather slowly. To take a car tire from 26 psi to 35 psi took me about 45 seconds to a minute. That's not terrible, but it's noticeably slower than the pump at the gas station. Still, you can do the whole car, even with moving the unit, in under 6 or 7 minutes, and that's not bad at all. The gauge seems to be dead-on, and the unit feels heavy and well built. With gas at $4.10 a gallon it's very nice to make sure the tires are rock hard and giving you every last mile you can squeeze out.
I thought about getting one of those cigarette lighter jobs, but then I kept reading about blown fuses and so forth. I got this for the garage and stuck an old bike pump in the trunk. The bike pump is for roadside emergencies, and no blown fuses and some good exercise with that.
