This little charger is very useful when you find yourself traveling with your spouse/partner/fiance/boyfriend/girlfriend/goldfish. Instead of sucking up two separate outlets (a precious commodity in many hotel rooms) with two chargers, you can recharge two devices via USB from one wall socket. Works great with two iPhones.

It also doesn't hurt that it has a tidy, clean design. The rotating plug makes it nice and compact for travel, but the sliding cover is a bit chintzy and not very satisfying to slide back and forth; I just leave mine open. The build quality of the rest of the charger is adequate, if not bulletproof.

It may not be the cheapest USB charger out there, but for under $15, I'm happy.

The IC A-14 is great. The sound is clear and crisp. The Lithium-ion battery allows several days between recharges. The unit is small and well designed. The scan feature is easy to use. I am very pleased with the A-14 and the price (with no shipping charge) is outstanding!

I like the smaller size of this radio. Battery life is fantastic, and reception is good, too. I live about 5 miles from the local regional airport, and 40 miles from New Orleans International airport. I can receive transmissions from MSY ATC even while inside my home. I only have two minor complaints. I wish the display were a bit larger, but it is quite legible. Just wish it displayed more info other than a single line. And I wish it would have come with a headset adapter like the A24 does. That is a pricey little item.

Very easy to use the basic functions of the radio. Have not tried to use the program option yet and my not need it. I am carrying it as a backup radio. My house is 4.5 miles from the airport and I can listen to ATIS and the tower from my bedroom. ATIS is a little scratchy with some static but it is understandable. Tower is pretty clear. Im sure in the air the range will be better. So far Im happy with it.

I fly a sport plane that, technically, does not require a radio, but I much prefer to communicate with traffic at the airport, and the Icom radios connect directly into my stock communication system, allowing me to use the PTT button mounted on the yoke and the external antenna, as well as working with my headsets, including passing my own voice from the microphone to the headset, confirming clarity in the broadcast. I can clearly hear traffic at other airports, as well, some of them almost 20 miles away. The only reasons I didn't give it that coveted 5th star are because the setup is not the least bit intuitive and the manual is of little help (there are some great YouTube videos that will help you sort it all out) and because there is no way to charge the unit without placing it in a charging cradle. This is fine for most people, and the cradle does allow you to charge the battery, whether or not it is mounted on the handset, but I would prefer to mount the radio in my plane and utilize the portable charger to power it. Aside from these admittedly minor issues, this is a solid unit and I really can't see going elsewhere for my radio needs.

I recently used this product with no issue. However, I replaced their low capacity battery with NiMH high capacity.The batteries that comes with it does not last very long. The Hi capacity (850 mAh) worked for about 9 hrs and still going.

We use these to talk around our 17 acre farm and while kayaking, hiking, and hunting, Two miles away and hilly we were still able to talk. Much farther than that was not so good. Line of sight with no obstructions would probably be better. We love them and have two sets so the kids can keep in touch too. Upgrade to better batterys for more talk time. We use 800mAh rechargeables.

I purchased this product (Cobra Electronics Walkie-Talkie CXT235 Two-Way Radio) during an Amazon Lightning Deal. Previously I already have a pair of very basic walkie talkies (Motorola FV300 2-Way Radio), but I consider the CXT235 a 'step-up' due to its advertised features, namely:

Longer range of 'Up to 20 miles'

'Privacy Codes'

Rechargeable batteries and charger included

My initial impression of the CXT235 was quite positive. The control buttons are fairly simple to use. The LCD panel is back-lighted and easy to read. The 'Privacy Code' feature seems to work well. However, there are several marketing hypes and deficiencies that I need to point out:

1. Like all walkie talkies, the advertised range of 'Up to 20 miles' is highly inflated. This number is only possible under optimal test conditions (transmitting from one hilltop to another with clear line-of-sight, perfect weather, no RF interference, etc). In an urban environment with obtrusions and interferences, you're lucky to get up to 2 miles in range.

2. The so-called 'Privacy Code' does NOT prevent others from listening in to your conversation. Instead, it prevents you from receiving unwanted transmission from other people. Let's say your group is using channel 11 with privacy code set to 22. You will not hear any transmission on channel 11 unless it is preceded by the correct privacy code. But anybody listening in to channel 11 without using privacy code can hear everything you transmit.

3. The included NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries have very low capacity of just 300mAh. Based on my measured power consumption (see Footnotes), this is barely enough to sustain 1-2 hours of operation if you do a lot of transmission. To extend the runtime, I need to replace those batteries with higher-capacity versions, such as Sanyo eneloop or Tenergy Centura (800mAh).

4. While the walkie talkies are plugged in to the AC recharger, you can turn them on but they are unable to receive any calls. That means you cannot leave them in standby mode while being recharged.

Bottom Line:

Despite the above limitations, I consider the Cobra CXT235 a good value at the Lightning Deal price I paid. An added bonus for me is that this product can be used to communicate with my old Motorola FV300 as long as all walkie talkies are set to the same channel, and privacy code is NOT set on the CXT235.

[Footnotes on Power Consumption]

When first turned on, the unit consumes around 60mA in standby mode.

After 10 seconds of inactivity, it goes into 'Power Saver' mode which reduces the average input current to around 20mA

While receiving calls, the units consumes around 100mA (depending on volume)

While transmitting in low power (channel 8-14), it consumes ~250mA

While transmitting in high power (Channel 1-7, 15-22), it consumes ~300mA

The AC adapter's charging current is around 30mA. That means it takes about 12 hours to recharge the included 3000mAh batteries, or 30 hours if I use higher-capacity batteries.

I guess I was expecting a little more of a device charger for the price. First off, the actual item doesn't look like the picture. For a Gigabeat, that's a huge problem because the charging port is on the side. Gomadic's "Tip Exchange" makes the problem even worse because now you have about 3 inches of solid plug and adapter sticking 90 deg out of the side of the unit. This makes it awkward to store in a console or glove box. It will charge the unit with a completely dead battery which the USB charger won't do, and it has an overcharge protection that is nice. Provide a 90 deg bend adapter and an actual picture of the product and I would give it a 5 star rating.

UPDATE: After a few years, it started making a rattling noise inside. I opened it up, and found 4 loose nuts, one fell off and was the rattler. The cheezy box protects it well, but is falling apart.

After using it several times, I finally memorized the instructions. It always does a very good job of telling me the battery's condition. Hook it up, load to half the cca, 15 seconds to test, fairly simple. Just make sure the load knob is all the way off when attaching and detaching or it will spark like mad.

I tried to change from 3 to 4 stars, but it won't let me.

For the cheap price, it may be good to do the odd battery load test, but adjustment was finicky and it started sparking inside sometimes.

The pro's of this tester are the ability to adjust amperage load. Accurate testing of a wide range of CCA are possible with this tester.

The cons: The tester performs it's functions; however, it seems cheaply built. I haven't had it long, but the "carbon piles" seem very fragile and destined to break. I run a mobile mechanic service, and I was afraid to put it in my truck. I move it around real softly afraid I'm going to break it. The adjustment knob seems really cheaply made also. It doesn't seem to adjust real accurately either. After you stop turning the knob, the needle will continue to rise sometimes.

All in all, it seems to be a very capable tester although cheaply manufactured.

Awesome! Plenty of jump start power. Purchased 1 from Amazon & another from my local hardware store(same model). Used 4 times in the last few days on our fleet vehicles. Nice features, well constructed. I plug it in to charge it up once a month. (more often than suggested) I let it charge for two full days when I charge it, indicators read full charge.

I needed to use it today because my car battery finally died (6 years old). I plugged the Stanley in to top up the charge, let it top up for two hours. Indicator showed full charge. Tried to start the car. Nothing. I could see sparks when I attached the battery, so I know there was juice, but just not enough to turn over the 6 cylinder engine.

The Stanley unit has a battery level indicator, before the attempt it read full charge. After, the indicator was in the middle. Back inside, I hook it up to charge it again, it reads low.

GM road side assistance showed up with a much beefier version of a portable battery source, and the car started up immediately.

This unit is one year old, so I am guessing that the internal battery just does not last, or can not actually supply the starting current that it claims.

Just a big beautiful paper weight. Go for a much beefier unit, or perhaps one with lithium ion batteries. Better yet, just subscribe to a road side assistance plan.

The bluetooth feature works ok, but it is NOT stereo. The description says "listen to stereo music streaming from your MP3". This is NOT true. Yes, you will hear both left and right channels, MIXED, in your left ear ONLY.

The helmet itself is extremely low quality. The padding is very thin and flimsy, and the rubber "breath guard" smells strongly of chemicals. The outer shell of the helmet is very thin and flexible. The graphics were crooked on the helmet. The plastic vents were not mounted straight. Also, the visor does not seal well around the edges.

This helmet is not worth half the price, unfortunately. I had high hopes for this product but I was very disappointed. I have already sent it back.

While the fit and comfort of this helmet is fantastic, the build quality shows why the price is so good. Initially I had a problem pairing with bluetooth GPS, but upon further investigation it was the GPS and not the helmet. Only certain GPS' can be paired with a helmet so ensure you GPS is compatible before purchasing one. My iPhone paired perfectly and though you cannot control the iphone features i.e forward, reverse and ff/rew tracks, the sounds quality was fantastic. Please don't think there are 2 speakers as that is against the law in quite a few states, but the one speaker sounds great. I made several call via the helmet at 50+ mph and I had one person think I was sitting in my living room. The sound cancellation mic is perfect. As for the helmet itself it is a very comfortable helmet and it is pertinent that you measure your head correctly. Unfortunately after the initial wow factor wore off about the comfort, this was quickly dashed as the chin cushion came apart after just one wear. Very, very poor quality. I really wanted to give this helmet a lot of praise, but it fell apart after just 2 hours of use.

I just love the pink!!! I gave my old battery tender to the boyfriend. It still worked fine, but I wanted pink and he needed a tender. I keep my bike hooked up when not in use as this prolongs the battery life. I keep leads on the bike's battery (included with the tender) and plug in after my rides. We bought this unit to keep a pair of classic camaro batteries in good working order. Right out of the box we tied it into a battery using the ring terminals without problem. The unit cycles the battery up to full strength and gives an obvious indication of where you are in the charge cycle. The product works great as advertised and it was delivered only within a few days from ordering it. I bought a wall charger from the same vendor a few weeks ago and they've done another good job of delivering quality at my doorstep. So far no problems with this product at all and it works perfectly fine with my Nokia 5310. I had to replace my old factory charger since the wire was starting to tear and I couldn't leave the phone plugged in for more than 5 minutes without it disengaging. Otherwise, this product plugs in place and works. I haven't had any problems with the cord getting in my way or tangled either. Overall, the product is of very good quality and the delivery was timely. For this kind of price, you can't beat a deal like this.

Functions as described. Good price. Not the best design, the angle of the charger sometimes comes in contact with the dashboard on my car causing the "charge" to disconnect because it isn't completely connected.

BoxWave HTC HD7S Desktop Cradle (No Spare Battery Charger)

I have been using this cradle for a few weeks, and it does charge my HD7s. The design has a good snug fit around the bottom of the HD7s which gives me confidence it is well connected and secured, and I hit the connector every time (unlike when trying to connect the microUSB cable that came with the HD7s).

However, some negative points ...

1) the base is bigger than what seems necessary (need more desktop space),

2) there is a strong blue LED on the front of the base and a red LED on the wall transformer, I know these don't consume too much electricity, but my HD7s tells me if it is being charged, I don't need another light in the room at night (nothing some black electric tape can't fix of course)

3) I cannot unlock my HD7s while docked; it's as if the screen is being tapped or something, but the password screen scrolls back down after I enter 1-2 of the #'s from the pin code. This is bizarre, and I can only attribute it to a back connection at the cradle (good enough to charge, but unstable to interact with the HD7s while cradled), and finally

4) The cradle of course has a microUSB connector for the HD7s (and most new Smartphones -except iPhone), but because of the plastic holder designed specifically for the HD7s (a good thing), I can't charge my wife's Android (it doesn't fit *on* the cradle) -No problem! I just unplug the cable from the cradle and .... it's a miniUSB plug!?!? I think BoxWave had a few thousand USB-to-miniUSB cables lying around and decided they would use those until stock ran out. I can't believe the designers would have a miniUSB plug at the end of the USB cable when the phone it is built for uses a microUSB.

I would not buy this again, but not worth the trouble sending it back, as it does charge my phone (but that's about it)

UPDATE May 2012 After updating my HD7s to the 8107 firmware, all of a sudden I can unlock and use it while on the cradle (pt #3 above) -therefore a phone/firmware issue rather than a cradle issue on that one -I am increasing my rating by a star! You know, I can now say I *would* buy this again, since I set it and forgot it, it does it's job well!
