Okay, I don't know if it is just me, but this thing takes all night to charge a single battery. I have two of these and both of them work but it takes all night for the battery to become charged. Now I don't know if this is because the batteries are very high capacity or if this device just charges them very slowly so I can't say anything bad about the product because I don't know. Just seems a little strange.

It seems that I received some kind of mess up in my order. It says that it is for the Sony NP-F550 everywhere on the box and on the back of the unit, however the front of the unit says it is made for a different battery also made by sony and as such it does not fit the Sony NP-F550 battery. Seems to me like there was an error in the production. Just my luck.

The most disappointing point is that this unit doesn't stay on standby so that you can just connect to it when you need.

You have to go to the unit and hold the on button down, then wait for it to boot up... Combined with poor range, I eventually replaced this with an good old fashioned cable that doesn't gitter or go out of range.

The product works, but not the way I wish it did. I have to turn it on every time I get in the car, even if it's plugged into power. I also have to turn it off when I get out of the car or it will kill the tiny battery.

Cell phone connected fine, and the BT worked well, but the hassel of turning it on and off, I might as well just plug in a cord.

It dosn't have any kind of fuse, so you might want to consider that when installing. The individual wires themselves are kind of thin, but gets the job done. All in all, a great little device. If anything goes wrong with this thing(knock on wood), I will update my post.

I tested the cable before installing on my motorcycle and it worked fine. However, due to an oops, I fried the little fuse inside the box. To get inside, you'll need to remove the label (or poke holes in it) to access the screws. Once in, you'll see where the little fuse is soldered in. I plan to remove the fuse, solder the connection closed, and add a fuse somewhere else.

One concern I have is that the circuit board is not solidly mounted inside the box. It just rattles around. As this will be installed on a single-cylinder dual sport, I'm concerned that vibrations and bumps may mess with the circuit board. I will probably pot it with epoxy. There was also an exposed wire inside the box.

It's just a cheap, cheaply made cable which works, but needs extra work for my application.

When this very inexpensive charger arrived, it came with a tag listing two battery types it was good for. The list did not include Lithium Ion, which is the type used in in the LG Optimus. On-line research suggested that such chargers tend to be expensive because of the more complicated electronics needed to charge Lithium Ion batteries correctly. A query about this to vender yielded no response. On the theory that the electronic sophistication is built into the phone, which might be justified to protect and expensive device, I have used it several times.

The charger appears to work. The phone batteries are indicated as recharged. It remains unclear whether I am slowly damaging the storage ability of the batteries by using this charger.

I bought this charger for my LG Optimus V cell phone (same as LG Optimus S but for Virgin Mobile instead of Sprint).

I used it almost every day, usually for short periods of time, for almost three months. However, just recently it has stopped working almost completely.

When it is plugged into the phone, the charging indicator sometimes turns on and off, but usually it is off. If I move around the end that plugs into my phone, it sometimes charges again, but one slight movement will stop charging the phone again. I assume there is some kind of connection issue within the charger.

It was a cheap charger, so I guess I got what I paid for. I'm going to try to contact the seller on Amazon to see if they'll offer a replacement or refund, so I'll update this if anything happens.

EDIT: The seller offered to ship a replacement charger at no cost, and after receiving it a few days later, I've been using it for a few months without problems. I am concerned that it might break in the future, but at least for now it's working fine.

I used to be a big APC fan, but over the years I have had all kinds of problems with them not behaving well after a battery change. They don't even like the batteries purchased from APC.

This product worked out great because I just picked up a couple of Marine Deep Cycle Wet batteries (approx $60 ea) used some cables I had around (#2 Battery cables from auto parts store work great) Just get short ones with two eyes for the connections between batteries (wingnut on bolt connections on most deep cycles) and one longer one to cut in 1/2 and use for both connections to the APS.

The APS takes a 5.5mm allen wrench to tighten the connections, I had to cut the plastic around the outlets a little to get my power strip to plug in directly.

A large (8D) battery box will hold up to 3 size 24 batteries, so I am going to pick up one of those this week.

This unit does not have the B series of DIP switches.

This unit also initially charged the batteries at 50A and then dropped down as they took a surface charge.

The transfer to UPS is seamless when unplugging from the wall for testing.

No flicker or anything on any of the computers.

I am running two computers (+LCDS, Drives, etc) one with a 1000W DA1000 SilverStone DA1000 1000W ATX 12V 2.2 and EPS 12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Power Supply Retailthe other with a really old 350W supply.

I have installed this along with an AGM battery as a power back-up for my sump pump. It had no trouble starting my 1/3rd hp pump. A good feature is the "charge only" mode that allows you to shut the inverter down when not needed (the winter months in my case), thus preserving the battery. It also has a setting for the type of battery being used (wet cell or glass-mat). I bought this unit to replace one from the Inverter Store that failed in less than a year.

This Tripp Lite 1200 watt inverter/30 watt converter combo is working perfectly. It provides power to the RV entertainment center up to 5 hours a day. It is connected to a12 volt, 220 amp hr battery. I bought one of these to provide uninterrupted power to my computer, internet and a NAS. The device failed less than two months after the 1 year warranty had expired. It no longer charges my batteries and says it's over loaded, even when nothing is plugged in. this is a great all-in-one solution for battery-based off-the-grid power. I spent a lot of time researching chargers and inverters and which ones I should combine before I found this, which does both easier and much cheaper for comparable performance.

my only suggestion would be for them to add a couple of fused terminals for direct DC power that could be shut off when the voltage is too low, but we can't have everything I guess.

UPDATE: after about 3 years of light summer usage, this thing up and completely quit on me. no power, nothing. it was nice while it lasted, but far too much to spend on something that is just going to fail after a while.

Whether you buy this as a toy or a tool, this is not a device that is going to spring out of its box ready to use. I consider myself fairly experienced in electronics and radio-related stuff and it took me several obsessive evenings of tinkering with the settings, reading and re-reading the manual, and searching through a half dozen online forums and reference sites dedicated to just this scanner model to get things set up properly.

Most folks who own this scanner are happy to share the files they have created of their own metropolitan areas (I found and downloaded complete Baltimore County files in a few minutes after subscribing BCD396T Yahoo Group) and with the included data cable every feature of the scanner can be controlled and modified from the computer screen.

Now that the unit is completely set up, it works exactly the way I want it to. This is a great portable scanner if you have digital trunking systems in your area, or anticipate your local systems going digital in the next few years. The back-light works great and lights up the buttons along with the display, which makes the scanner as easy to use in the dark as in full daylight.

The included antenna is a wide-band scanner antenna, so expect to have to purchase a band-specific antenna for the unit if you're mostly concerned with listening to 700 or 800 MHz trunking bands in your area and want the best possible performance on those bands.

If you have no digital systems in your area, you may want to check out some of the less expensive alternatives without digital capability such as the UNIDEN BC-246T Compact Hand Held Scanner.

While there is a learning curve to this scanner, once you get started, and it does require patience, this is the best of the best! While I was waiting for this radio to come out, I bought the 246T, similar to this one to learn the new programming procedure. I only put in the control channels of the trunking systems I usually monitor (I recognized the voices of those I heard). When the 396T arrived, I sold the other radio on the popular auction site for nearly what I paid for it. I like the fact that there is no wasted space like there was with the bank-based scanners of the past. I listen to trunking as well as conventional frequencies and have them set up so I can press one button to change from one county (or town) to another. I would like to be able to monitor a priority channel within a trunking system. I now notice that Uniden has a 396XT out. I'd like to compare that to the 396T and hope to be able to clone the T to the XT if I was to go for it. Would also like to have the portable be a one-handed radio or have a delay between button presses. But as it is now, I cannot press the side controls and the front ones at the same time while driving. With that in mind, I have it set up for only one-button press to control what I need to listen to. Would like to have a better battery charging system, 14 hours is too long for most of us, I use an external charger daily so I have fresh batteries (have 2 sets of 3). I mostly monitor traffic in the local areas traveled thru while on the job. This works for me and has for the last 30-plus years that I've been scanning. All things considered, I give it 5 stars.

One great feature is subscribing to one of the web site's for scanner frequencies, install the software, plugged the scanner cable into the USB port and away you go. Search for any frequencies and program the scanner instantly. Nice.

Overall it's a good product, easy to use. You can't actually lay your phone facing up, it has to be on its side I'm not sure why its displayed differently in the picture. I charge from my computer and it is sufficient in the area of charging. The cord on this particular dock is extra long, about twice the length of my last dock. This is great if I want to charge my phone and still have it accessible.

The slot to dock is a good fit, snug and deep enough that it won't get tipped off easily. It's not a large unit over all so it travels well and isn't heavy. This unit replaced a simple but effective charger. Wish I could go back. Often refuses to "engage" because battery voltage is termed "too low to charge". (Jump start of engine is thus req'd to get recharge going) Display is too dim to view in any daylight condition. Controls and error messages are not intuitive, requiring frequent reference to manual. Despite revered brand name, surely there's something better out there.

Almost useless. The B&D Vectors, as many have pointed out, will not charge a dead battery. So you need an old fashioned charger to precharge it before using the B&D. They claim this is to keep you from trying to charge damaged batteries, but this explanation is scant confort on a cold morning when all you want to do is get your car started and get to work and your new charger refuses to! And I have sucessfully charged many batteries that the B&D refuses the charge, and other smart chargers like the Schmachers do not have this problem.

Oh, the plastic clamps tend to break at least, they have on the 3 of these chargers I have personal experience with!

These vector "smart" units are useless. I've had one for 3 yrs now and not ONCE has it charged a battery. I took the initial unit back since all it did was give me "fault errors". Got the new unit, went to use it a month later, same fault error "F03 Open Cell" telling me the battery needed replaced. I have tried to use this garbage unit on at least TEN separate occasions the past couple of years....F03 fault errors every time! Funny thing is, my buddies old "not smart" Schumacher charged the batteries right up. Reading some reviews, i noticed someone figured out these units wont charge a battery if it is under 4 volts. In my (current) remote location, a WORKING battery charger is a good device to have.

This space-filler does nothing other than

a) Display "000" (or perhaps "OOO")

or

b) Display the "race track" LED circuit. Fun for 5-10 seconds.

The buttons, other than the "Off"/"Power"/"On"/etc. (I'd have to go outside to confirm that syntax) are "dead".

It does not display the battery voltage on a fully-charged and operational "pila" in my Z71.

Does not do anything with regard to the charge rate button. It's not as if this has a lot of moving parts and perhaps the flyball controller is busted!

I am unable to throw it far enough ...

This is identical to the charger supplied by the Pride scooter company for my wife's Go-Go mobility scooter, and at a significantly lower cost. The previous one we had lasted for over 5 years. I would have rated this model higher except that you need to be careful connecting and disconnecting the plug from the charger body.

If you yank on it, you could break the plastic tabs that hold the socket inside the charger body. These tabs gave way on my previous charger, and the socket and wires began to come out of the charger body each time I disconnected the plug/cable, and I could find no way to repair it.

After using the previous Scosche CBHSOL2 model I am liking this one MUCH more! The previous model had trouble with buttons sticking, coming out of alignment, etc. This model has better button design, turns itself on when you are back in the car, has good voice/sound quality (as can be expected in a moving vehicle), and truly is wire-free with the efficient built-in solar cell charger. I truly do leave this and never worry about it running out of power.

I would give five stars if the display contract could be changed; otherwise it has (after five months) been a good reliable bluetooth speakerphone.

It's a nice device, if your phone will stay connected. My Scosche disconnects from my iPhone after about 20 minutes, every time. Since it would not stay connected, I returned it for a replacement. Along with the defect, my first Scosche came without the windshield mount... completely sketchy. The replacement has the exact same connection issue, but at least it came the windshield mount. My friend also has one identical to mine and he never has trouble with his. I am certain it is not my iPhone either, because it will stay connected to my friend's Scosche without trouble. As well, I have had my iPhone replaced under warranty while owning this product, and the replacement phone has the same connection issue with this device. It's just sits in my car unable to be used. I have yet to send it into Scosche since it is under the manufactures warranty, but I will soon. If I knew the product would have been this much of a hassle, I wouldn't have ordered it. I've done the master reset on the device many times, and even gone as far as re-installing the OS on my phone, and it still it disconnects my phone after about 20 minutes. Also, if you happen to be talking with another person who is using a Scosche, then the audio is rather poor. If my friend and I talk to each other while using our Scosche's, we can barely hear each other. I wish I had never spent $60 on this device.

Lincoln Lubrication 1242 12 Volt DC Cordless Rechargeable Grease Gun with Case and Charger

First thing I liked was the price, this being $70 cheaper on Amazon.com than it was at local stores, if you can find a local store that carries it. I found it for about $199 at Tractor Supply Co., same exact thing. I read the reviews first so wasn't upset that the carrying case did not include storage space for tubes of grease, but it would've been nice if you did get what was pictured, especially for the price.

Even though it's 12V, it has more than enough power to squeeze out the grease, even if you had the gun sitting in a cold garage mid-winter. I found that filling my truck's joints with green grease was exceedingly easier than the last time I had done so with a hand trigger style gun.

When you pick this up and have it in your hand, you know it means business. It doesn't feel "plastic-ey", like it's going to break at any moment. With it resting on my chest, I had ample hose available to reach whatever I needed to reach under my 4x4 truck, which I was thankful for ,given its weight.

No problems whatsoever priming it. They gave all sorts of instructions as to how to prime it if necessary, but I just put the tube in, pushed in the handle in the bottom, and pulled the trigger and a few seconds later grease was kicking out and has kicked out every trigger pull since then.

You can hear the pump cycling through, so there is an audible noise every time it kicks in some grease. This is good since it will enable you to gauge how much grease is going in if you can't see the fitting and are just adding some by feel. Each pump noise equals one full squeeze of a standard grease gun, in my estimation. Each pump is less than a second, so it doesn't take very long either.

Bottom line is, this is an impressive tool. It does what it's supposed to, and it does it well.

I've had this for over 5 years and it has worked perfectly each time. Originally bought it to lubricate my steer skid loader, daily. Sold that and use it on my cars and trucks. Very handy I love it. Sometimes I go up to a year between uses and the battery is still charged and going strong. You will like this very much.

I have owned two of these units. The first died and could no longer be charged after about a year. Thinking it was an issue on my end, I purchased as second unit which again failed about 18-months later.

save your money it drains in 5 minutes even charging just a cell phone. Nothing will get a full charge.

I bought this to charge my Zune in my car. I liked the small size and price, but it doesn't work. The fit in the cigarette lighter is extremely loose; the charger slips out whenever the USB cord is removed which sucks. I don't know why, but my Zune won't even charge off of it. It doesn't recognize that it's plugged in. The overall build of the thing is cheap (which is expected), so even if it worked it wouldn't last long. There are better options here on Amazon.

Don't bother with this, keep looking.

I really liked the convenience and neatness of the retractable cable which worked well and never jammed up. However, the charger base got very hot after prolonged use and began to smell like burnt plastic (which scared me a little). Also, when charging my phone (Droid Eris) with this device, my phone's audio output jack emitted a hissing noise. I almost couldn't listen to audio from my phone while charging it with this charger.

They make it way to much trouble to return the thing for what the product costs.

The package even said Motorola v3 and they said it should still work from what they have been told.

Charger was delivered in mid February, and worked fresh out of the box. However, within 40 days, this charger no longer was capable of "charging" the HTC Eris. Bottom line, it did not work properly for a reasonable amount of time.

For the past few years I used the SunForce 7A charge controller and it worked very well. When I added another panel to my small system I upgraded to this model to handle the extra few amps.

This charger is really a step above the SunForce model in the same price range. It is not simply an "on/off" solid state switch... it controls/limits the current to the batteries to maintain a very precise voltage. When the batteries have been fully charged, it then float-charges at a constant rate. This will keep the batteries much healthier over time than simply cycling between 13.1V and 14.2V. If you are using SLA or Gel-SLA batteries, I think you'll really find this charger is made for these types of batteries.

I like the output load control. A simple push-button on the front of the unit turns the load on/off, and the small "digital LED display" is just a red LED indicating if the load is on. It doesn't give any sort of digital readout like the details above say, however it's not necessary if you have your voltmeter handy.

The LED indicators are sufficient, telling you if the solar system is providing power, the battery condition, and the load state. The wiring terminals seem sturdy and can handle 10-gauge wire which is nice. As others have said, the manual is sort of a joke. It gives you the bare basics but since this is a pretty simple device you don't need a book to figure it out.

Really pretty happy with this unit. I was considering the SunForce 30A charger which is over 2x the price of this unit, but glad I tried this one first.

While the instructions are minimal and apparently made by those for whom English is not the first language the unit itself is first class and an order of magnitude better than the SunForce 7amp controller, which is just an on/off electric switch. My only complaint is that the LEDs are recessed and diffused, and viewable only from directly in front of the unit. I strongly urge anyone considering the SunForce controller to spend another $10 and buy this vastly superior product. It's hard to believe that there is only a $10 difference in price between this unit and the SunForce.

There was a good week delay before this vendor shipped. The product is very straightforward to hook up, and has reversed polarity protection. The green lights on the unit were indicating my battery was fully charged, yet it was only at 12.2 V (not fully charged at all). As one other person indicated, the low-voltage cut off is fairly low, and your battery would be severely depleted before disconnecting. Having a higher voltage cut off would be much better for the battery. This is basically an entry-level controller, so I figured I'd got about what I paid for. I would certainly not choose as controller for a large array, but for one or 2 panels it should perform adequately. I have yet to check the higher voltage cut off, but is it supposed to kick off at 13.1 V. The maximum input voltage is supposed to be about 14.4 V, and have not seen readings higher than this. There seems to be a lot of "noise" on input voltage, but it gets the job done nevertheless. Again, about worth what I paid for it. This is certainly not a high-end product, but does perform adequately for the price.

This is a good charge controller unit. It's passable as a low voltage load disconnect but at 11.1v disconnect, your battery is almost completely drained and that is not good for the battery.

But, I've looked around a lot for low voltage disconnect devices, and short of paying almost $100 for a certain unit that can only function as EITHER a charge controller OR a lvd, I have not found any devices that fit both needs together. Shame this unit does not have the adjustability for the low voltage disconnect, then it'd be perfect.

So, until someone produces such a device, I recommend this one for the cheap side of things, and using an LCD or audible alarm to warn when the voltage on your battery drops below 12.1+/to disconnect it manually so you are not damaging the battery by excessive discharge.

I truly enjoy this purchase.

The feature I like most is the ability to use 6mm2(10ga) wire from my solar panels.Where as most controllers only accept 4mm2(12ga) wire.

The item I like the least is the Digital feature. I thought it was a digital read out display,it turns out it is a digital controlled display. This is a minor misunderstanding on my behalf. Still I enjoy the size,price,amp rating,but mostly the wire terminal lugs ability to accept 10ga. wire.

I recommend this product.

First, it doen't come with the battery & charger. For the price of the $80 after you have bought the battery and charger, it's just not worth it. The build quality is very poor. The bits fit loosly in the chuck and are always greasy when you remove them. Spend the extra few bucks and buy a well known brand. Not recommended at all. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it does work as advertised, but for how long?????

I can't comment on the performance of this item because they didn't include a battery for it, this was a christmas present for my son and needless to say this ruined the effect for him and me. Nobody sells something like this without including a battery, and shame on Amazon for not noting this in the item description itself. I have always been satified with Amazon in the past so I will give them the benefit of the doubt on this one, maybe they too were unaware that a battery was not included. I don't know how much extra the battery and charger are going to cost me but what ever it is it will bring the price up to way more than I would have been willing to pay had they been include in the first place.

I received this as a gift from my mother. She is new to Amazon and saw it in the "promos" they send out. I am sure she had no idea it came without a battery (I won't tell her). It will cost me more for the battery and charger ($42) than the gift cost her. Most if not all the Lithium powered tools are coming as a kit with either a drill with two batteries and a charger and carrying case or the tool alone. In the Product Description it states . . . "One battery powers all Maglithion tools. Battery and Charger sold separately." Northern Tool does make it more clear however that the battery is not included with the phrase "Tool Only". I have the Drill "KIT" which comes with TWO batteries and the drill which by the way works GREAT for driving 4 inch dry wall screws into 2x4's the long way without even going to the highest torque setting. Looking forward to having this tool which looks to have the same power (without the extra keyless chuck length) for driving screws.

Have purchased other car chargers for my Tilt made by manufacturers other than HTC and had trouble with conecting and charging. Works great and clearly a step above the others in quality.

Make sure you read the compatible device list. I didn't really read it carefully and bought the mini plug, rather than the micro plug for the HTC EVO 4G. I was going to return it, but a simple converter plug from Radio Shack did the trick. Bottom line: Operator Error created an increase in cost, but it's still cheaper than getting it from a retail brick and mortar store.

The car charger did not work as described. In the item description it stated that it would work with the HTC G2 but that was incorrect. The usb connection would not fit into the port of the phone.
