USB Sync & Charge Cradle (with AC Charger) (w/ 2nd battery support) for BlackBerry Curve 8530

USB Sync & Charge Cradle for BlackBerry Curve 8530This item is very poorly built from plastic with what appear to be plastic contact pins. After three days the pins were inside the charger and could not be retrieved. Therefore, it no longer is working. I am an adult and did not abuse the charger.

For those of you like me, who enjoyed using a docking cradle on older Blackberrys where you just sit the unit in the cradle; read on. Since the Curve doesn't have external contacts. this is the only cradle option. Basicly it is a cradle with an arm that holds the micro USB male end. At first I did not like it. It is a little bulky, and it's very hard to line up the Blackberry with the arm. Then I learned a trick. Slide the Blackberry in towards the arm at a very slight outward (right side pulled up just slightly) angle and it slides right in every time. Now I can do it with my eyes closed. All in all it's not bad.

Socket that plugged into phone on unit was never attached with screws.

Screws were laying loose inside cradle. Took it apart and attached with srews and now works fine.

Cannot believe it was shipped like this as you could hear screws rattling around in cradle.

The company sent the wrong charge cradle and they said they would send the correct one. Communication was terrible trying to find anything out and finally got a email saying I was getting a refund. To my surprise I did get a refund but I still have the old charger that does me no good and did reply with an email on how to send product back but no response. The photo of product was correct when I purchased it

Creative Lab ZEN Vision M Accessory Silicone Skin Case W/stand + Bonus Car Charger for Creative Lab

Creative Lab ZEN Vision M Accessory Silicone Skin Case W/stand + Bonus Car Charger for Creative Lab Zen Vision:m + Travel/home Charger for Zen Vision:mThe skin fits nicely but is not well thought out. The bottom slot is too small and doesn't allow the sync adapter to fully insert, but its easily remedied with an Xacto knife. The center slot for the touch pad is also too narrow it allows for all touch pad operation, but is too tight on the next\previous buttons, They are almost impossible to press another Xacto knife solution. The screen prtoector does not fit very tightly. Otherwise the skin is pretty durable and fits just right.

The adapaters still require the use of the sync cradle.

What a great deal! Everything works great...it's MUCH cheaper to buy this pack together. I was wary at first...too good to be true? Nope!

The skin provides very good feel, and perfectly fit my zen vision M 30G. It comes with a nice stand to view my MTV without holding on to the player. Nice screen protector too to protect my screen. Very good price, and it comes with 2 chargers. It does need sync adapter in order to use the charger, but it is fine with me. It keeps my mp3 player charge all the time. I bought the very same one for my nephew last christmas, and according to him, the chargers are still working fine. So I am pretty sure mine will too. Good seller, I receive the package within few days. Overall, Very good quality, nice color and firm grip for the skin, and good chargers. I definitely recommend this to any one who loves their zen vision M 30G.

EMPIRE Motorola DROID RAZR M Retractable Car Charger (CLA)

EMPIRE Motorola DROID RAZR M Retractable Car ChargerPrice is right. This is the second charger of this type that I have purchased; the first one was for a previous phone. Compact, good for traveling; I'm not sure of the durability because I don't use it a-lot but so far so good.

This is a very handy product! Having the retractable cord allows you to stow it away so you don't have cords running all over your car. I wish more products had cords like this.

Scala Rider Car Charger CAR CHARGER

Scala Rider Car Charger CAR CHARGERI know that companies make most of their profits by selling accessories but this should have been included in the $400 plus price point if the units. We made a 400 mile round trip Motorcycle ride and had the units on for 13 hours and the battery started to die even when we turned them off when we made gas and food stops.

I like the dual plugs to charge both units. Still should have been included in the package. That is why only 4 stars.

After misplacing my charger I thought my scala rider was useless! Glad I found the charger on here! wish they had a wall socket one though.

AT&T Laptop Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G - Retail Packaging

AT&T Laptop Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G - Retail PackagingSo I waited for the price to drop below $200, before I purchased. I bought a refurbished unit for $175. (I heard you can by them for as low as $100 now.) I must say that I am really impressed with this Lapdock and it far exceeded my expectations. I am running Gingerbread with Firefox 4.0. (It is fast at loading pages.) I don't own any mobile devices like a tablet, laptop, ipad, etc. Just my Atrix.

It meets all of my needs and more. You don't need the 4G tethering plan to use Firefox. You can use wifi and when on the go, just use the browser app, within the mobile view. (I kept my unlimited data plan.) I have had mine for about a month now and still learning how to use it and new tricks. Since there is no users manual, as to all of the features, you will have to discover them by playing around with it, forums like this, trial and error. So here are the pros and cons I have discovered so far.

Pros:

1) Netbook experience, but has limitations.

2) You have complete access of your phone's functions and apps within the mobile view.

3) If you have a word processing app on your phone, you can create/view and edit: PDF, excel, word documents and powerpoint presentations. (Even though there are no spell check for android any of the word processing apps, you can still use the spell check/word suggestion, from the on screen keyboard, while using the qwerty keyboard.) You have to right click on the mouse to get the dialog box and choose multi touch keyboard and then just minimize the on screen keyboard.

4) You can access the internet thru the mobile or webtop view. (Don't need a tethering plan.)

5) You can access all of your videos, pictures and documents in both mobile and webtop view.

6) You can save movies to an SD card or flash drive and play them with in the mobile or webtop view. (There is some choppiness, but its not bad.) The bigger the viewing window, the chopper it is. This works for movies rented from the android market too.

7) You can hook up a USB or cable mouse.

8) The lapdock charges your phone really fast, when docked. (It doesn't matter if the lapdock is plugged into an outlet or not.) You can easily get 2 full charges on your phone if your phone is down to 30% battery, if the lapdock is fully charged.

9) The key board is really nice and spacious. Easy to type on once you get use to it. Has a lot of quick function keys like: Vol., screen brightness, etc.

10) The mouse pad is easy to use, really big, can be turned off and has two function buttons. (Its not multi touch, but you can double tap to scroll.)

11) Its very lightweight, thin and easy to carry around.

12) You can set up your webtop desktop background to whatever you want and can customize the dock bar with mobile apps and web apps/shortcuts.

13) In the Firefox window, you can customize it how you like and can choose your default home page. (I have mine set to Google.)

14) You forget your using your phone to power the lapdock.

15) All of your internet bookmarks show up in Firefox as well as the mobile browser. (I doesn't matter if you created them in either or.)

16) Playing your MP3's or streaming music, sounds pretty good thru the lapdock speakers. (You can use mobile and webtop view.)Listen privately using the head phone jack on the phone.

17) Multitasking is really easy in both the mobile and webtop view.

18) You can answer and make phone calls. Send text and e-mail, etc.

19) You can enlarge mobile and webtop view to take up the whole screen or resize windows as you see fit. (Just like on a windows PC.)

20) File management is really easy and you can view your pictures in list or thumbnail view.

21) You can still access all apps in airplane mode that doesn't require a data connection. (I used my lapdock while on a plane and the experience was really nice.) I had all my music and movies on SD cards to listen to and watch.

22) Most games play just as good as it does when using the phones screen. (Racing games or any that use the accelerometer, require you to tilt the lapdock.)

23) The battery life is 8 hrs on full charge. (Will be less, depending on how low the Atrix Is, video play back and what you are doing.) It definitely will last longer then any laptop, netbook or tablet.

24) Over 6 ft. Charging plug.

25) You have a tab view in both mobile and webtop view. (Much easier and faster to move around apps.)

26) User interface is really nice and surpasses some netbooks and laptops functions. (Scrolling view of all open windows with in webtop.)

27) Only have to carry around your phone and lapdock.

28) Screen is beautiful, bright and sharp.

29) Flash video and playback streams nice with no lag or choppiness.

Cons

1) Dock is useless without the Atrix 4G and only works with the Atrix 4G.

2) It will lag, if you have to many apps or website tabs open at one time.

3) Video play back is a little laggy, when viewing full screen.

(Doesn't matter if it was saved to SD card or streaming.)

4) No way to view powerpoint presentations on a view screen.

5) Can't add apps to webtop desktop.

6) No touch screen.

So, I hope I was able to help you in deciding if this lapdock is for you or not. You wanna know something else, I typed up this review on it and it was cool.

Its a completely transforming experience. It is way better than having a Netbook to lug around. Actually, in last two weeks it has replaced my Macbook Air and also my home PC (I am using Home dock). The idea is great although execution in some areas is poor and price is high. Having said this, I'd have gladly spent $400 for it than buying a Netbook.

I use it for my daily commuting and it saves me time and it is headache free. For example, before it I need to worry and make sure that I have three devices working and charged: Phone, MiFi and Macbook Air (I have also used Netbooks in the past). Now charging is headache free and also I just realized that I have not formally charged my phone for last 3-4 days and it is still working. Making sure that my phone has a juice has always been an issue in life, especially ever since I started using its hotspot feature. Now my smartphone gets charged automatically during my one hour commute to NY city and back.

Before Atrix I used MiFi for two years and then tried Samsung Epic for few months. I would have to make sure that I have a charger or extra battery at work because phone's battery was around 40% when I reached office because of using its mobile Hotspot feature.

Taking calls is now fun. Actually, in general running Android applications is great, especially all media ones.

There are also other things which has completely won me over and I have no desire now ever to return to a Netbook world (at least run of the mills Netbooks though maybe Macbook Air, which was a nearly perfect device!). I hope the future docks would be less expensive. That is the only real negative I have against this thing.

It is an integrated experience and one needs to use it for 2-3 weeks to understand what it really means. This is the future.

I bought it with full intentions of returning it if the concept did not work out. I bought it from Radio Shack (Phone + Dock for $479.00)

Buy AT&T Laptop Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G - Retail Packaging Now

So I have had my Atrix for about 4 months before i got around to getting the laptop dock. Reviews have been up and down. Finally i saw it on a nice sale and fair price in my opinion of $250.

1st and foremost. The Atrix is the most amazing Superphone out there with the Nvidia Tegra processor to handle the Android OS the way it was meant to be. The Tegra processor is amazing, no lag time, plays Hd video in WMN and MP4 flawlessly and the battery life when used correctly out does any other smartphone with a high Mhz processor. I had the Backlip and the Droid X, and the Atrix gets 2x the life than i did before.

As far as the laptop dock. as stated i think that $250 is a fair price for it.

PerformanceUnfortantly the webtop application in its current form does not take full advantage of the Nvidia GPU, the interface is emulated, but it is snappy and quick. in Laptop dock it does have a full version of firefox and not google, mainly because the webtop ap is a lynix based merged with the android. I can browse with 3 tabs and not have lag issues on wi-fi. 3g it does lag simply because of the speed restrictions of wireless 3G.

As stated in the webtop Youtube videos do not play as smoothly as they do just in the phone, that is due to the problem that the webtop is not using the GPU like it could be. Im hoping that motorola fixes this. i can play 480p fine on a wi-fi and 720p is playable but does get choppy.

They did inclued the entertainment center and i can play a 1080p video in MP4 or WMV without a hickup. it doesnt show it in that, but i dont need to worry about down converting 1080p when i move it to the SD drive or a USB flash drive.

Accesories: Wonderful thing works with plug n play mice and keyboards and flashdrives, external harddrives. At first i used a addon wireless mouse off my desktop computer and pluged it in, and it worked right away. I later bought a bluetooth mouse and bluetooth headphones.

The only problem i have run into is getting my shared printer on my network to be recognized by my Atrix.

Battery life: AMAZING, i have used the atrix for 6 hours straight with the atrix on half charge, at the end of the 6 hours of me using it my atrix was fully charged and the laptop dock still had 2/5 power left. i have not drained it, got to 1 /5. It charges the phone quickly and the dock itself will charge competly up in an hour pluged in.

Here is the big kicker, At&t wants you to pay for their tethering plan to use the laptop dock on their network, it will work right out of the box on wi-fi no problem (which is where i use it most) but i do like to bring it to other places without wi-fi and still use it, so i do. there is a way.

This is not a replacement for a computer. I have a rather hardcore gaming rig for my main computer, but when im traveling, or at work or just chilling out on my back porch its nice to have a device to listen to pandora, browse the web, play movies, music, show photos, edit word docs or play some angry birds full screen. all you can do on the android you still can do, and anything you can do online you can do. and 10x more power efficient and powerful than any netbook.

Keyboard, Im over 6 ft and 220 lbs, with average hands, the keyboard is well sized and proportioned, the touch pad is large and can disable quickly for long typing without worrying about moving the mouse around.

All and all, this is a great accesory along with the car dock. only reason i am not giving it 5 stars is that the webtop ap doesnt take ful advantage of its powerful Nvidia GPU

Read Best Reviews of AT&T Laptop Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G - Retail Packaging Here

The Motorola atrix is a AWESOME device and the laptop doc completely finishes off the package. Why get a tablet when for the same price or less you can get a full keyboard that, in my opinion, is more usable than a tablet. One note is that this lapdock is designed for light word processing and mostly web browsing a video watching/ web surfingmore of a netbook then a full laptop. But if thats what you are looking for the device is great. It also powers up instantly as soon as you drop your phone into it which is nice.

Want AT&T Laptop Dock for Motorola ATRIX 4G - Retail Packaging Discount?

While the commercial blurs the line of the Motorola Atrix with it "is it a phone?" "is it a computer?", that line is made perfectly clear what AT&T considers it. The Atrix is a phone and the laptop dock is a computer. I purchased the laptop dock on impulse at Best Buy for $399. I did not even realize the phone I owned was the phone on the commercial until I saw the dock in person. I thought it would be a better way to utilize my AT&T unlimited data plan by streaming Pandora or checking email at work or having a large display while on car trips. Right up front I want to make it clear that the laptop dock is a paper weight and battery without the phone. It does nothing, zilch, nada, NOTHING! It very much needs the phone to be the brains. My main and really only beef with the whole setup, is when I did plug in my phone and try to start Firefox, the system did a check and found that I did not have a tethering plan. AT&T considers this data usage a tether. Basically, connecting a display, keyboard and a trackpad to my phone is the same as tethering a regular laptop to it. AT&T wants charge you $20 to give you the option of using a keyboard, mouse, and display with your phone.

I did spend some time on wifi with this. You if you have wifi available where you use this, you will be happy for the most part. When the phone is not bogged down with open applications taking valuable resources, the laptop dock is a pretty good experience. If you are a person that does use this on the road and is willing to pay for the tethering option to be connected full time, I would say go for it. I am not sure about a sales person or corporate executive being able to use this setup to VPN to a company intranet, so you might not be able to replace your current laptop with the dock. Do some checking on this first.

I for one, think that the tethering argument is super weak, and returned the laptop dock to Best Buy. I want to finish by saying that not only the gal that sold it to me, but the clerk I returned it to, did not realize that a data plan with a tethering was necessary to use this outside of an area without wifi. I am not the only one who thought this was too good to be true!

Powermate PM0105007 Vx Power Series 6,250 Watt 389cc Gas Powered Portable Generator

Powermate PM0105007 Vx Power Series 6,250 Watt 389cc Gas Powered Portable GeneratorOn June 30, South Jersey was hit by a rare thunderstorm called a derecho, and the damage is the worst I've seen in years. Utility officials say some will be without power for more than a week. Home Depot was open throughout, running on its own generators, and they received a shipment of 220 of these generators when I drove by so I purchased one. Had to add a quart of oil and 6.5 gallons of gas, and it was up and running. Unit ran our huge upright freezer and refrigerator/freezer in the garage, along with our large refrigerator in the kitchen, plus my saltwater fish tank pumps with ease. It ran 12 straight hours on a tank full, and I shut it down before it ran out. Then it ran for 12 more, and I shut it down to change the oil per directions. When the power came back on a few hours later, the unit had run flawlessly for 26 hours. Pros runs perfectly, smoothly, and seems to be well built. Priced fairly. Fuel guage on tank is great. No cons at all. Just remember, have at least 2 quarts or more of oil on hand, since recommended oil change after first 20 hours. Also, purchase numerous 5 gallon gas cans, since you can dump them into your car if not needed. Overall, very satisfied in South Jersey. PS buy heavy duty extension cords if running large appliances. Depot charged $50 each for extremely heavy duty 50 footers, but I want to be prepared for the next crisis.

The generator was delivered within three days of placing the order, and the box was in good condition with just a small punch hole on one of the side walls.

The unit is VERY heavy for its size. A couple of us got it into the garage and proceeded to cut the box away. We used a couple of 2x4 blocks to chock the frame to install the feet and wheels.

The oil filler access is awkward, but they do send a funnel with tube.

No oil is included with the unit, unlike others, so you will need a bit more than a quart of whatever oil you choose [I am using SAE 30].

Once all of the preliminaries are out of the way, and after filling the tank, the unit started on the third pull not quite my Honda lawnmower or snowblower, but not bad. Multimeter is showing full voltage.

It is a bit loud, but it is used outside.

The only unusual thing [per the instructions] is that the unit did not want to start with the choke placed in the 'start' position it started beautifully and smoothly in the 'run' position.

Now I hope I don't have to use it too soon.......

Received generator one week late during Sandy's super storm, generator would not start, no power, no heater, cold and in the dark in New Jersey. Took generator to service center but they could not start the generator no matter how many times they pull it. Try priming generator with gas to start it but it catches fire. Service guy say internal engine problem, engine back fires.

The only concern I have had is that a prong on the wall charger came right off...fortunately not in the wall socket. The ear buds are not as high quality as those which came from Sony, but are still servicable.

Husky Liners Custom Fit WeatherBeater Molded Front and Second Seat Floor Liner Set for Select Chrys

Husky Liners Custom Fit WeatherBeater Molded Front and Second Seat Floor Liner Set for Select Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger ModelsBoth front and rear mats fit perfectly in my 2013 Charger R/T Max with RWD. You have to remove the factory mats for a perfect fit but once this is done there is not a inch of carpet that is exposed. these mats look better in my black on black Charger than the factory mats. The mats a deep enough to contain any spill for easy clean up.

very nice and durable product. No need to worry about getting the carpet dirty anymore. Easy clean up just wash and rinse.

The liners fit very well in the Charger and will help this winter if we get any snow. Am quite pleased with the fit of these in the car.

I looked at these & the other american made custom liners. The Husky's for my 2011 Charger were available earlier & so I was leaning towards them in the first place but put off buying them until this fall. A full set of 4 cost less than the front only from the other company so I got these last week and they are awesome.

The fit is perfect with total coverage and they seem like a very high quality product. No nasty rubber smell like with the cheapos I bought last year and they look great.

Want Husky Liners Custom Fit WeatherBeater Molded Front and Second Seat Floor Liner Set for Select Chrys Discount?

I have been looking at many different floor mats for winter/fall use in my new 11 Charger (any car and truck for that matter). These were by far the best. They are more like floor pans, not floor mats. They cover almost all carpet that can come in contact with your feet. The are custom fitted to perfectly fit the floor of your car. If you're in the market for winter mats I HIGHLY recommend these. I will be keeping them in all year except for the summer months. In SPring I will just put my factory floor mats inside of them. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!

I got the version of this product for my iriver clix2. They worked great. Then it turned out the iriver clix2 was incompatible with the Windows version I had (XP Home Ed 2002 sp2). Bummer. When I called Gomadic to see if this charger would work with my new MP3, the man worked with me to figure out what I needed (kindly explaining AT MY LEVEL), THEN said he would send me the needed conversion tips FREE (AND the product was even past the warranty period). To me, "it don't get any better than this".

I ordered these chargers and then when I got my Clix 2 I realized that I had ordered the wrong chargers. I contacted Gomadic expecting that I would have to pay to ship back the chargers if I wanted an exchange, or buy the correct tips for my Clix 2 to use with the chargers I had bought. To my surprise, their friendly customer service offered to send me the tips I needed at no charge to me at all. I didn't even have to return the Clix 1 tips. The new tips arrived in a few days. I haven't had a chance to use the chargers yet, but the package mentions a lifetime warranty and I believe that if I had any problems at all Gomadic would respond in a responsible way. Even before I use the chargers, I would definitely recommend Gomadic products to anyone based on my experience.

eForCity Battery Desktop Charger Compatible with Motorola Droid 3 XT862

eForCity Battery Desktop Charger Compatible with Motorola Droid 3 XT862I love this little thing! I have a Droid 3 and I go through batteries like crazy, so I ordered this battery charger so that I can charge a battery while I have another one in my phone. But, what is really great, is that I can charge my phone even while I am charging up my extra battery. Works great and saves me downtime on my phone. I love it. It also has a light up bar that lets you know when your battery is fully charged by turning blue.

Ordered it, received it, tried it, and it only charges the batteries bf5x and bf6x to 50%. Shame, could have been useful.

Buy eForCity Battery Desktop Charger Compatible with Motorola Droid 3 XT862 Now

Price was great, but I guess you get what you pay for. This charger is supposed to charge your Droid battery by either inserting the battery in the cradle or by using your USB cable connected to your phone. The label on the charger states that the cradle will charge at 4.2Vdc and 300ma. The USB output is rated at 5.2Vdc and 500ma. Given these stated specifications either charging method should be sufficient to charge the 3.7Vdc DROID battery. Given these ratings the desktop charger should fully charge a 1500maH battery in the cradle within 5 hours. However, I have found that after charging all night (8-10hours) the battery is not fully charged (charged to about 90%), even though the charging light has changed from red (charging) to blue (charged). A quick voltage measurement at the cradle terminals found only 3.8Vdc (unloaded), not the specified 4.2Vdc. I purchased two of these chargers and both perform in the same manner with new Motorola batteries. I do not recommend this product.

(#1 REVIEWER)I tested I 6000mAh PowerGen external battery pack with Nexus 7 Tablet, Samsung Galaxy 7.7 Tablet, and Samsung Galaxy Nexus cell phone, and SanDisk Sansa Clip+ player. I own several external power packs and use the same test to measure the performance of each so it is possible to compare the relative performance of each unit to each other. My methodology of tests is to charge each devices I own on each port of the unit for 10 minutes and measuring how much each unit was charge in that 10 minute period. I run each test on each port twice once with a generic cable and once with supplied cable. Each line in the tables below represents a separate 10 minute test.

I am attaching a collage of 2 photos labeled with number 1 & 2 under customer photos that I will be referencing in this review.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the package is that brick looks slick and well made. Its dimensions are 4.15" length x 1.83" width x 0.88" thickness. A photo of the unit is included in both photos I posted.

The box contained two USB cords 7" and 27" and adapters to fit different devices (Nokia 2mm round, Playstation Portable 4mm round, mini USB, two micro USB). Photo #1 shows the entire content including all adapters. The adapters are a weak point of the design, they feel a bit flimsy and it is easy to loose all the small pieces. The minimum configuration for my devices is two connectors: one that goes into the AC plug to charge the external battery and the second (mini USB) that goes into the devices for charging.

A big button on top of the unit turns the unit on and off (hold it for a few second to turn off). The blue lights on the sides of the button indicate the level of power in the battery: 4 lights indicate full charge, 3 lights indicate 75% and so forth. The power pack also has an LED light, which generates a pretty good bright light and can be used a flashlight.

The 6000mAh PowerGen has one USB outlet. I tested my four electronic devices using both my own USB cable as well as the manufacture cable+adapter. In the documentation booklet PowerGen states that PowerGen cables provide better performance for non-Apple devices on the 2Amp (Apple port) and I wanted to see the difference between the cables.

The provided adapters fit Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone, Nexus 7 tablet and Sansa Clip MP3 (as they take regular USB-to-micro USB cable) but none of the provided adapters fit Galaxy Samsung 7.7 Tablet.

I used Battery App by Elvison to determine how each device recognized the charging source. 'AC' status means the charging is at full charging rate. 'USB' status indicates charging at a lower charging rate. 'Discharging' status means that the charging rate is below the power that the device is consuming so it slows down the discharge rate but does not re-charge.

The key findings:

================

(1) The power pack worked well with Nexus devices, but did not work at all with Samsung Galaxy 7.7 tablet. The documentation states that it does not work unless you have a tablet USB adapter. But even with this adapter the Battery App showed that the tablet was 'discharging'.

(2) Using PowerGen cables vs generic cables made a postive difference for the phone but not for the tablet (note that I used a generic charging cable, not a data cable)

Difference between a power cable and a data cable:

Charging cables short the two data connections together (rendering them useless for data transfer), but this fools devices to see them as an AC power connection, and thus accept the higher current of the charging source. Both my generic cable and PowerGen cables used in my tests are charging cables.

Description of my tests:

I tested each devices charging them for 10 minutes using PowerGen cable and using my own charging cable.

The table below summarizes my findings.

Nexus 7 Tablet (photo #1)

-----------------------------------

generic cable .... AC source .... 1% charge in 10 minutes

Powergen cable ... AC source .... 1% charge in 10 minutes

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Phone (photo #2)

-----------------------------------

generic cable .... AC source .... 3% charge in 10 minutes

Powergen cable ... AC source .... 4% charge in 10 minutes

Samsung Galaxy Tablet 7.7

-----------------------------------

generic cable .... discharging

PowerGen cable -no adapter, cannot be used

SanDisk Sansa Clip+ MP3 Player

-----------------------------------

generic cable ...... works

PowerGen cable ..... works

The MP3 player recognized the charger on both outlet, however it behaved differently than charging from the charger it came with.

When I charge Sansa MP3 with a standard AC charger, the MP3 player goes into charging mode, displaying the charging animated icon. When it was plugged into the PowerGen external battery it continued to play the content. I listen to books on my MP3 player so this caused me to move forward in my book and I had to manually reset my position by a few chapters to get back to where I was when I started charging. The positive side of this, is that is possible to continue listening while MP3 is recharging. This is very handy for Sansa MP3 player since it has built-in battery that cannot be swapped for a charged one. I used to have to stop listening to have it recharged and now I can continue to listen while it re-charges. I was very happy to have this feature during hurricane Sandy when I lost power and my books on MP3 player were my only source of entertainment.

To summarize:

I liked:

-----------------------------------

1. Good behavior with Nexus devices.

2. Solution for MP3 player with built-in battery

3. Looks sleek, feels solid, is compact

I did not like:

-----------------------------------

1. Does not work for Galaxy Tablet 7.7 (with my own adapter, no PowerGen adapter)

2. The multiple piece connectors are flimsy and easy to loose. I prefer a one piece charging cable I bought as a replacement.

3. Labels and documentation are hard to read: 2A and 0.6A labels are white on white and are hard to read.

I received 6000mAh external battery pack for testing from the manufacturer to write an honest and unbiased review and you will find both pluses and minuses of my experience in this review.

Overall, I am pleased with this unit and recommend it for the devices I tested with the exception of Galaxy Tablet.

Buy PowerGen PGMPP6000 Black External Battery Pack High Capacity 6000mAh Power Bank Charger Dual USB ou Now

I purchased this unit because I needed a back up charger for my Samsung Galaxy S2 smart phone. I happen to browse the internet a lot using 4G and my phone dies rather quickly. I opted for this unit because of the solid reviews and also because it has imbedded micro USB cable in the instance that I forget my USB cable at home. Also it has the capability to charge other devices as well.

The imbedded cable feels a little flimsy, so I would only use this in emergencies if I forget my short USB at home. It's still nice to have though as a backup. The unit comes with a bunch of adapters -Micro USB, Mini USB, iPhone/iPad/iPod/iTouch, and other size adapters. I'm not too sure why it has a flash light built in, but it's there if you ever need it.

As for the charging, it charges my phone from about 5% to 100% at least 2 times. It could possibly charge more, but I never had to since 2 charges are good enough for me. It charges the phone fairly quick.

This unit is in line with other external battery packs out there, but so far this unit has been very solid and the price is just right. With the imbedded micro USB cord (used if I forget my USB cord) and other positive reviews, this unit is a solid choice.

I have a droid smartphone that loses power rapidly. This PowerGen keeps its own charge a long time, and provides an easy way to keep my smart phone charged.

Want PowerGen PGMPP6000 Black External Battery Pack High Capacity 6000mAh Power Bank Charger Dual USB ou Discount?

.

USB battery packs keep your power-crazed smartphone or tablet satisfied while on the go. Super handy. Many brands to choose from. Prices are bouncy and coming down.

About this PowerGen 6000 mAh model -

It charged my iPhone 4S 2.45 times. Larger smartphone batteries will get fewer charges. Tablet users should get something larger.

The imbedded Micro-USB cable is a big plus. Save space. No tangle, mess, or leaving behind. I use it with my iPhone, thanks to a Lenmar Micro-USB-to-Apple-30-pin Converter Tip (see Note 1).

PROs:

* Imbedded cable eliminates multiple hassles

Generous capacity for smartphones (see Note 2)

Fit and finish: Impressive. Looks and feels like quality.

Size and shape: Very nice to hold, very pocket-able

Plastics: Seems like quality unbreakable plastics

Power-in: Standard Micro-USB connector (see Note 3)

Other PowerGen products have been highly rated

OKs:

12 month warranty (Anker has 18 months; New Trent has 6-10 months)

High gloss finish attractive, but subject to fingerprints, scuff marks and sliding around

Comes with a 7-piece interconnect system for most devices (see Note 4).

Energy efficient. Does not seem to heat up at all.

CONs:

None yet

Alternatives -

PowerGen 9000 mAh (imbedded cable)

Anker 5600 mAh (18 month warranty)

PowerGen 5200 mAh

Anker 3200 mAh (imbedded cable, 18 month warranty)

You can save money by waiting for dips. Low tide is around 30. There's an "Online Price Alert" that will email you whenever this or any amazon product dips below your target price. Google it. It's nicely done. Or try camelcamelcamel, which also shows price history.

Disclosure -

The manufacturer gave me this product for review. I believe my review is impartial.

Notes -

Note 1: This tiny $5 adapter works with the imbedded cable to get my iPhone charged at full speed (same as Apple wall charger).

Note 2: 2.45 full charges of my iPhone 4S (1432 mAh battery). A Samsung Galaxy S3, for example, has a 47% larger battery so it'll get about 1.67 charges. All the USB battery pack makers do a little funhouse mirror trick when reporting mAh (milliamp hours) capacity. The "6000 mAh" is battery output @ 3.7 volts. The stepped-up 5 volt USB output is at most 75% of that (4500 mAh).

Note 3: Micro-USB power-in connector The most common connector type. Share cords. Use cords of any length. Some other brands have a round power-in jack with a dedicated AC adapter -more stuff to bring...or forget.

Note 4: 7-piece interconnect system includes USB-mini, two USB-micro, 2mm round (Nokia), and 4mm round (PlayStation Portable). Plus special 7" and 27" cables. (Contrary to description and box/user guide info, mine also had an Apple 30-pin connector.) The cables and connectors are of reasonable quality. I prefer using regular cables (no chance of losing small pieces) or the imbedded cable. But the PowerGen connectors supposedly optimize charging speed of non-Apple devices (data pins are connected).

It charges my iPhone 4s at most thrice with its full charge. It functions the way it's supposed to.

However, the flashlight functionality may be an inconvenience at times when the button is pressed in your bag. A lock switch/button is needed so it can be controlled. Also, sometimes the phone indicates it's fully charged but the percentage is not 100% so I would have to disconnect and reconnect the cable so it'll continue charging.

RND Apple Certified Cable for iPad, iPhone, iPod (10 feet/black)

RND Apple Certified Cable for iPad, iPhone, iPod*** November 27, 2011

After trying umpteen zillion cheap iPhone cables only to end up with umpteen zillion cables that don't work, or only work part of the time, I finally got an RND cable -a 6 ft white one. It was great, so I ventured out to get another RND cable -this 10 ft one. It too works great!

I agree with another reviewer that the connection doesn't totally latch tight. Being heavier/thicker cables also makes these RNDs slightly more likely to detach. For myself though, I haven't found this to be a problem. They stay in perfectly fine.

Over the upcoming months if either of my RND cables stops working I will be back in here to update my review. At this point, however, these RND cables are by far the most reliable iPhone cables I have come across.

*** UPDATE March 19, 2012

My cable stopped charging or syncing. I wrote to the company (RND Power Solutions) saying that my cable stopped working. Within just a few hours they responded saying that for one of their cables to stop working was rare, and that they would send me a replacement. Well, they did. I just got it -very fast -within about 3 business days of my writing to them.

RND backed up their product with no hassles, no muss, no fuss. I am very pleased. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from RND again. In fact, since I just left my shorter RND cable at a conference, I have just ordered another one. I like it when a company backs up their product, and does so in a hassle free way.

As an interesting aside, my first 10 ft RND cable did have a slight bit of a loose connection on the iPhone side. However the one I just received doesn't. The connection is firm. Perhaps they tightened this up a bit since earlier versions.

*** UPDATE July 3, 2012

I have now had a second one of these cables die -in less than a year from the original purchase. (This second cable lasted less than four months.) While I suppose I could write to the company as I did last time the cable died, and they may replace it a second time, I hate doing that. I just want a cable that works well, and keeps on working for a reasonable amount of time (certainly for at least a year). I have now dumped this cable and purchased a Griffin.

I am also lowering my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. Two stars for it working well when it actually does work, and a third star for the company replacing the product the first time it died.

The cable functions as advertised, but I was surprised how thick it was. It's about twice the thickness of a normal apple cable. Also the connector that goes into your device is huge. It's about twice as thick, and twice as long. The USB is standard.

It's so big that it gets in the way can be harder to hold your device, whether it's an iPad or an iPhone. I prefer the RND 6 foot cable to this. You still get the benefits of longer length, but it is normal thickness with standard connectors.

$15.99 for a cable that was supposedly approved by Apple? After roughly 90 days of use, it doesn't work at all. RND Power Solutions INC (seller)

Read Best Reviews of RND Apple Certified Cable for iPad, iPhone, iPod (10 feet/black) Here

I have purchased a few longer cables for my iPhone in the last year, but all 3 of them have failed in a matter of months. Two were like a regular iPhone cable (only longer), but they either broke on the external case or the wires internally. The 3rd seemed to be more heavy-duty, but als it only lasted a few months before it just stopped working for no reason. Now these cables were only used for bedside charging/using the iPhone while charging & never treated roughly, but they still crapped out in a matter of months.

....then I found this one. It came today & holy crap I must say I don't think this cable will be failing any time soon.....it's quite MASSIVE!!! The cable itself is right at 3/16"...which is about the same size as the cable of my keyboard, but it feels much more rigid. I use it with my phone in an OtterBox, so it is a "snug" plug-in. It takes a slight bit more force to push it in all the way versus the standard iPhone cable, but nothing too bad. At least I know it won't accidentally come unplugged LOL

I tested it for charge & with iTunes transferring a few pics off the phone to the pc & it worked fine. I haven't used it yet to transfer large amounts of music to say whether it's faster, but I would be VERY surprised if it wasn't given the size of the cable

The 10ft is probably longer than I really need for what I use it for (bedside charging/using phone in bed while charging), but looking at the companies 6ft version this one looks ALOT "beefier" so I'll deal with the unneeded extra length ;)

Want RND Apple Certified Cable for iPad, iPhone, iPod (10 feet/black) Discount?

I am an RND fan. I purchased several of these 10' cables as I have many 6' RND iPhone/iPad cables that I have been quite satisfied with. Sure enough, this is a thicker gauge cable with a well done connector to cable assembly. It looks and feels high quality and it does, in fact, charge the iPad from 10' when connected with an iPad compatible 2A charger (don't try to charge an iPad with an iPhone 1A charger).

Unfortunately, there is no connector lock on the iPhone connector. On many other iDevice cables, there are "buttons" that you depress on the side of the Apple connector that "unlock" that connector from the device. When not depressed, the connector stays connected. This cable does not have locks. The connector does fit into the Apple jack, and it does charge, but all you need to do is slightly touch the device and the connector comes loose, stopping the charge & interrupting a sync. This is not an individual cable defect as it is true with all that I purchased. I have now had several frustrating mornings where I wake up to find that the cable has come loose from the device and failed to charge it overnight, and I have had several syncs fail due to an interruption. If they add a lock mechanism to the Apple connector, this will be a 5 star product, but until that time, I have to recommend that you avoid it unless you have a rubber band or other technique to keep the connector in place.
